Sax 100.4 and an 8 volt input?

The way some companies market specs is comical, you'll never see 8v outta that deck. Run it without worry. I'm not sure which model of Eclipse it was, but I know somebody scoped the outputs on one of them and it actually did measure a full 8 volts, but the more astonishing thing was that it was unclipped even at 100% on the volume knob. This was probably 5 years ago. now that is interesting to know!!

    New Idea!

So I was sitting here thinking of how I can make my car louder! then it hit me! toss out my back seat and get another NS 15inch and more power and fire them up or forward! lol!! I was just looking over my last install pics and I noticed without the rear seat I have so much more space. plus my car already has 320,000km (198,000 miles) so what can I lose! lol!! I HAVE NOT TAKEN ANY MEASUREMENTS YET, this is just what I was thinking about. my car is a 95 grand am my current setup can be found here I now have a new jvc avx77 and aluminum bus bars on my batteries so everything looks a little more cleaner! anyways back to my idea! if I pull out the seat make a 6cubic box either forward firing or up firing. then put my batteries and amps in the trunk!! now I know I need to upgrade my battery bank to say 3- d3100 and I need to get another saz2000 (so 2saz2000 in total strapped) is there anything i have left out? What is best up or forward firing 2 subs (2-15inch NS d2) what are the advantages and or disadvantages that you can think of in a setup like this. now let's talk port idea's. Either round or square and how big would they have to be? my box should be around 6cubic after displacement and bracing and port. also should I be using 3/4 mdf or 1/2 birch for this build. I have heard that birch is just as tough as mdf and sounds just as good the only negative is the cost plus it also doesn't weigh as much as mdf does. now all IDEA's are welcome yes I know this is a VERY vague idea and not even 100% thought through yet but you got to start somewhere right? lol!! so any and all help will be hot! ALSO this build will not happen till about April ish. jsut b/c right now I am in school and hold down a part time job so I don't have too much time for anything other than those 2 things. let me know your idea's and I will get some sizes tomorrow night! thanks in advances Kenneth
  6. found some! http://cableorganizer.com/fray-resistant/
  7. wow very nice of kicker! my next build might have to include some loom to make it look good and clean!
  8. nice pic. Is there somethign over top of the blue wires? it looks very clean congrats!
  9. the big 3 is: Upgrading your ALT upgrading your Battery Getting a battery Bank (if needed) and to some ppl (most) it is: Upgrading all your wires to 1/0 gauge wire! total cost about 20-30$, what you need to do is upgrade your grounds on your battery (ies) upgrade your ground on your ALT run a new wire from alt to front battery VERY important dont' REMOVE any of your old (stock wiring) the big 3 is an add on i guess!!

Sundown takes home 2nd in IASCA SQc

congrats on second place!! that is an honorable mention!!! congrats!
  11. there are these rules which ppl shoudl all follow is what they are getting at. they recommend you first invest some time in the noob posting guild before posting! and at 14.4 steady volts i would imagine that amp would output rated power plus!! but dont' let the voltage fall to low or you will be crying! some light reading for you! and
  12. i am sure they are stable as long as you have the eletrcial to back it up!!! feed it a steady voltage and away you go!
  13. keep in mind some of stetsom higher power ampliers are made for SPL only and not a daily system. when you e-mail that person be sure to make sure that amp is able to hand daily rather then just spl! and i can't vouche for audiopipe b/c i have never used one myself but i am sure other ppl on here have!

    wiring to amp

and no it doens't matter as long as you got 1 pos and 1 neg hooked up for the sub!
  19. CrazyKenKid

    wiring to amp

but make sure to JUST use 1 set of POS and NEG terminals use the first set or second set don't mix and match.

    wiring to amp

well the SAZ 1000 is a MONO amp so ther are no other channels to bridge. the extra set of TERMINALS is jsut to help ppl out when setting up more then one sub OR when strapping 2 saz 1000 together!

Sax 100.4 and an 8 volt input?

i am pretty sure once you install that deck and start using it and place an voltmeter over the rca's you will find that the voltage isn't 8volts but the voltage at the rca's will vary as you turn up or turn down the volume. my h/u is rated at 5volt pre-out and i get around 1.5volts at best!
  23. ya me two i almsot installed a soleniod but i never got around to it so ya! lol. and i have not run into an issue YET. keep in mind my buddy actually ran into an issue! he completely KILLED his front battery. I believe the front battery was a interstate something. i bet it was old and very old but still once he install his sound system (1200rms) the battery jsut died the next year! so who knows! maybe it jsut depends on how new your batteries are!
  24. when mixing and matching batteries it is best to use a soleniod a 300amp soleniod, this will prevent one batteries from killing the other battery over time! you can also use a battery isolator but when you use those they will give you a voltage drop not a huge one but still enough. soleniod http://www.skycraftsurplus.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=381 battery isolator http://www.e-marine-inc.com/products/alternators/isolators.html as you can see the battery isolators are a little bit more expensive.
  25. lol funny story i just read his sig lol WOW maybe 4batteries to start with lol!!! and d3100 or larger that is lol!! but for 4krms 2-d3100 should work nicely plus you will be running it at 2ohm! lol but then agian you don't know till you try right!
