Got a Problem - Need Solution

haha alright I know saying big boy was foolish I just played music at full blast and dropped .1 volts - 14 to 13.9.. so it makes me believe my electical can handle another 250 watts for now so basically.. what I'm really curious about is this: if I hook up my 2000d at 4ohms and keep it above 12 volts I'll be ok? amp will not get damaged. and haha ofcourse I'm anxious. I'm running my sub at an eighth of what it's rated for and I have a perfect amp to go with it. going from 250 watts to around 500 will make me happy for now. it's hard being 17 and not having cash for the last three things I need. I don't have credit dude. my parents are my credit cards and they have the choice to say no so as long as I don't play full blast at stop lights and blast it with the car off I should be ok running this amp at 4ohms. or should I wait..

so how should I go about setting the gain? play a bass heavy song at full blast and slowly move the gain up until voltage drops a tad below 13v?

    MBarber25's Build Log

so um made some changes today: sub is wired to 4ohm since the one i have in now couldn't take the 1ohm load.. and now the sub is crooked due to mounting problems... but whatever looks aren't everything and i can already tell a difference in output from the amp after switching from 1ohm to 4.. and i don't like it! so..... this friday i will be putting in my SAZ-2000D and running it at 4ohms so it'll be putting out about 500 watts give or take i'm very exciting for the upgrade and i know the small jump in watts will be verrrrrrrrrrrry noticable also i got some stuff in the mail today i'll show you guys what's in the box later.. nothing too exciting

Got a Problem - Need Solution

yea so i;m getting mixed feelings on putting the big boy in.. sooo hopefully i will find time tomorrow to take my btl out and wire it in series so i dont have to worry about frying the amp then when i get a day off where its nice too.. i'm gunna put in the big amp and leave it at 4ohms... but one thing: doesn't running 4ohms make more of a strain or your electrical.. or is it vice versa? idk

Got a Problem - Need Solution

ok that would work thanks so i will be getting a 4ohm load, correct? or........ instead of ripping my btl out of the box what's your outlook on my other situation? (hooking up 2000) i just have to be very careful with the gain with my 2000.. my car should hold up for the time being? until i can purchase batteries i have stock alt., ac delco battery- nothing special, and big 3 in 1/0

Got a Problem - Need Solution

yes. the amp's been running hot lately. and before when it was ran above 1.5 ohms it would stay ice cold. so what's my bext bet? back down the gain? dont go past a volume of 19? or any other suggestions? just effin hook up my SAZ-2000 which is 1ohm stable? (the only downer to that is i don;t think my electrical is ready for it.. so idk thanks

Got a Problem - Need Solution

outside: 17 x 40 x 16 port: 13.5 x 3.5 x 5.5 or 4.5 the port numbers are rough since i'm sort estimating.. give or take on those number.. that's why i keep saying around but also no bracing and 1" mdf was used

Got a Problem - Need Solution

i see what you're talking about. why would the amp shut off output?
  13. do u think that this event is going to have a bigger turnout than the one in boston like two weeks back?

Got a Problem - Need Solution

yea the light only comes on when it makes that sound its a bitch because that only subsonic filter setting is for 30hz.. it's either no subsonic - or subsonic on 30 so any easy solutions?

Got a Problem - Need Solution

ok just did.. but i had to do it at 20 since it wasn't really doing it at 19 anymore (just sanded my ground in between time.. idk if that would do anything) but it was going it again at 20 and i'm pretty damn sure it wasn't moving 3" peak to peak.. i've seen videos of btl's flexing a lot and it didn't really look like that so now what? could it be that the subsonic being set at 30hz is preventing the amp to play certain notes causing it to make that damn popping sound? thanks

Got a Problem - Need Solution

ok the box is like 3.9 cubes and is tuned to around 33hz and the subsonic is set at 30hz because 30 is the only thing I can put it at when the subsonic is on I played the song at 18 and it didn't do it, so I moved up to 19 and it started to do it a little bit.. so I didn't bother going any higher so it's bottoming out right? and what did u mean by 50/50? hope I didn't misunderstand something ha so what's my best bet? hook up my saz 2000 and set th subsonic to 33hz? or is there another solution? and did I just do damage to my woofer? thanks! you're a huge help!

    Subwoofer Pop

yea that's the second step if sanding my amp ground doesn't work.. i really hope i don;t have to do that, taking my deck out is annoying

    Subwoofer Pop

Ok i've heard of this problem before: everytime my amp gets power and turns on (when i turn my key to acc or further) my subwoofer makes a small popping sound. I saw that installing an inline remote switch on the remote wire would do the trick. Will this work and can anyone give me a link to a nice and simple one please? And also is this a threat to the integrity to my subwoofer because if it is i have to make sure i do this ASAP.? Thanks

    The BTLBLAZER

haha there u go.. running mine off around 300 watts of JL power and im amazed... and its soon to be 2000 watts of sundown power
  23. mbarber25

    Subwoofer Pop

umm everything is the same besides the sub. and another thing different is that i tapped into the remote wire and attached the remote wire for my voltmeter to it.. other than that.. same same

    Subwoofer Pop
