    Lexan strength question

I used my router to step cut the plexi window and an MDF ring that I cut out so that they fit into each other. I used silicone to seal that seam and screwed the ring to the front of the box sandwiching the plexi between them. Here's a drawing that kind of explains what I'm talking about. Here's what it looked like when it was done. It turned out really well and is holding up great so far. I cut out a ring that was 14"x24" out of 3/4" MDF with a hole cut in the center that was 11"x23". Then I cut a 3/8" deep and wide grove around the perimeter of the plexi, and the same around the inside of the ring. Then I simply laid the plexi in the ring with silicone all around to seal it then a little around the edge of the plexi with glue around the ring and screwed it to the front.

    Lexan strength question

I vote the thicker plexi since it can make it easier to blindly integrate with the 3/4" MDF. www.delviesplastics.com is where I got the window for the box in the van, sized 12"x24"x3/4" with 10"x22" viewable and it does great. At full tilt, everything the Q's can dish out on the SAZ-2k you can't feel it flex, which was good enough for me.

    Dcon 10" OMG

The amp will be fine at 8 ohms, won't hurt a thing, but it's hard to say for sure how much power you'll lose. The amp only gain's 1/3 it's 4 ohm rated output at 2 ohms. One could hope that doubling to 8 would have the same affect for 300wrms, but it could be as low as half the 4 ohm rating which would be ~225wrms. I say just hook it up at 8 ohms and see what ya get.

    Dcon 10" OMG

Told ya so.... LOL ( Your sub recommendation page, posts #4 and #8 ) Glad to hear you're enjoying it!! I'm sure you agree the word needs to be spread about these subs. So many people overlook them just because they're on the lower end of the scale of power handling. Not only do they get louder than one would expect, but they sound absolutely amazing. Definitely one of the best subs that can be picked up for their price IMHO. My sister's 12" DCON just blows away everyone who listens to it. I agree with the others 450wrms will be plenty for it like Aaron said, there's just no need to run double rms to it for a daily setup. Now, just wait until it gets a little more broken in. It will play a little deeper, a little louder yet, and sound just as amazing.

    help powering 2 Fi Bl 12. 3400rms

^^^ This!! If you would even consider spending a bunch of money on even multiple cheaper batteries then you may as well go ahead and save up for the HO alty. You'll be farther ahead with it than a big bank of batteries that the factory alt can't keep up with anyway.

    Newbie saying hi from texas

^^^This exactly. Everyone has to start somewhere and IMHO starting small, learning everything you can and applying it with every upgrade is the best way to learn what works, what doesn't, and how to get the most out of what you can afford or do. And see, told you these other Texan members are good guys!

Our Ghost Just Opened A Door For My Wife

That's just kewl. We have things like that (never helpful) happen at our house all the time. Usually hear the toilet seat sound like it gets dropped all the time just to go into the bathroom and find it as it was left, or things are constantly being moved around the house when no one has touched them. I'm living in the house my dad and uncles grew up in though, and one of my uncles died near the house too so we like to think it's him, my grandparents or my 'ol man messin with us. That's just kewl, I bet your wife was a little freaked though.

There's several members on here from your state, and a few I think may be fairly close as well. Hard to beat having some of these guys nearby.

    Sub recommendations

You were a little lacking on the info of the box, is it already built? If so what size driver hole does it have? If it's not built yet then I'd like to recommend either a 10" Fi X series sub or the 10" SSA DCON. Both subs will work in that sealed enclosure and on that power quite well. The SA-8 doesn't do very well in a sealed enclosure and if all you have is that .6 to .75cuft then you'll not likely have the room to port the enclosure for the SA-8 either. A good 10" seems like the best choice for that smaller sealed enclosure to me. Just my .02

    SAZ1500 V.2 issue

Just wondering if you're talking about your remote gain knob or not. I have noticed on my 2kd that same thing, almost a turn on pop everytime I turn it to the all the way down position and just one click above it. It never concerned me enough to mention it before, but now it has me questioning how normal that is.

    Payment P,lans Possibly??

^^^ This... Of course you have to have a credit score good enough to qualify for that, but then again if your score isn't good enough to qualify then you probably shouldn't be trying to arrange payment plans/credit to pay for things like subs anyway. Don't think for a minute that I'm preachin' here either, my own credit score is crap which is why I wait, save and buy the stuff I get when I have the cash in hand myself.
