hotel california comes to mind.

yep, tune it to 28 Hz. my last setup with the brahma was in a ported box tuned to 28, and the low end is just sick. here's a vid if you're bored

very clean install

Well after some delay in trying to figure out the proper enclosure size for my RL-p 15, it's finally in. Thanks again Mike for putting up with all my emails . It's in a 2.0 net sealed box, temporarily being powered by my Fosgate Power 451S amp. The sub is getting ~230 watts (not much eh?) It will soon be mated to an Arc Audio 1500-XXK. This setup replaced my previous 12" Brahma in a 2.5 cu ft box, tuned to 28 hz. Now onto the review! Only got to listen to the sub for 5 hours or so today. But from what I'm hearing already...I'm VERY content with my purchase! This thing can get pretty loud with only 230 watts. I can only imagine how it'll sound with almost 4 times as much power, though I will be careful with the gains on the Arc amp. Initially I was worried that it won't be as accurate as my Brahma, but this sub hold its own very well. I played things ranging from classical, to Hotel California, to bass heavy southern rap, to quick techno/trance tracks. The RL-p is keeping up with the fast beats from DJ Irene, and can really dish out the low stuff in Lil Jon. I don't think anything was sitting still in my car when I have the volume on my Kenwood deck past level 16. Bass lines are smooth in Paul Mauriat's "Love is Blue", as well as other classical tracks. I will give a more detailed review once I get my Arc amp. Pics will follow as well (my uncle borrowed my digi cam.) But so far...this sub absolutely rocks! I miss my Brahma, but have now found a worthy candidate to fulfill my bassy needs. Thanks again Mike for a kickass product.

good question....i gotta make some calls. but SOON...i hope.

my rlp is dual 4, they didn't have the dual 2 when i placed my order
-
the amp isn't 2 ohm stable bridged, and i was kinda lazy to remove the sub to wire it into series for 8 ohm load. so i just stuck it on one channel. how can i run a Y on the rca? there's only one input on the amp.
-
some pics, excuse my messy trunk hehe. the amp is just there temporarily.
-
Yeah, I'll give a more detailed review after the Arc comes in. I can't wait... and CrushingCory...don't worry about it being able to keep up with fast beats... it'll reproduce them quickly and accurately.

any issues with the surround hitting the grill during large excursions?
-
man, after reading this...i'm even more anxious to get my 15 RL-p in. thanks for the review! after finished reading it...found myself smiling like an idiot
-
you're not going to get tigher bass than a sealed box. ported box will be louder though.
-
too many factors...power, enclosure design, vehicle type...
-
ah, didn't know they came unpainted as well.
-
I'd be careful though. Most car waxes have a slight amount of rubbing compound embedded in the paste/liquid. I don't know how thick the paint is on the RL-p, but the idea does seem good. With a good layer of wax...crap won't stick to it as easly.

i was advised by Mike not to use rubbing alcohol...

yep, armorall did the trick. got all my friend's oily prints off my rlp. on a sad note though...my mom threw a hat onto my sub, and the damn metal buckle thingy to adjust the size of the hat...hit the cone. there's a little scratch on it now
-
ah ok, I will try ArmorAll then. Thanks Mike.

hello all, i figured i'd join this forum since it's the official SS one . my previous setup consisted of a 12" brahma in a 2.5 cu ft box tuned to 28 hz, power by a bridged fosgate power 451s amp. next setup will be this 15, in a 3.2 cubes box tuned to 28, powered by a arc audio 1500-xxk on to the pics! thanks again mike! the sub drawfs the ruler
-
great...my friend left buncha fingerprints on the cone... is it ok if i use rubbing alcohol to get it off? water is not doing it...but i don't want to discolor the metal
-
3.2 cu ft tuned to 28
-
thanks, hopefully the sub will be installed this week...weather permitting.
-
hope it sounds good...can't wait to install everything
-
yeah, it slipped my mind. by the time i realized, the sub was already in transit to my area. ah well, it's no biggie. as long as it performs well i'm content you a member over at CA.com? your name looks familiar.
