Been working up some ideas and have decided to persue the latest idea. Attempting to be LOUD and PIMP looking but is quite the challenge to both. This one is more focused towards looking nice but should through up some descent numbers too. It isn't an SPL focused setup but surely at some point in time this year I will have something more towards SPL... just depends on how this one sounds. I am anxious to build something so here it begins. Here is my dirty VUE Under the hood Cargo Area The Amps! Slot cutting with guide board held down by Josh... so much faster than clamping/moving lol. Thanks Josh! Testing flexibility More flexibility testing Gravity at work

Dang wish I could've gone.. Made it to MidwestSPL finals and attended USAC/dBDrag Finals last weekend lol, only so much a guy can do I suppose lol.

Time to Break them in! Rubber gaskets are just sitting on top of the edge, just laid them there for the hell of it. Didn't want to put them on since they will be coming back out soon and they fit really tight in the recessed area.. not an easy task but love the fit. Pic from Finals! Been slacking on the build pics but here ya go! Still not finished Lights Vid Excursion Vid (not maxed) Burp Vid! Vid "footlongsam" took from MidwestSPL finals.

More! Some stages I skipped

Stage whatever... This is in place temporarily for resining/stiffening in its' form then it will be put back in later after I finish this section. Update 4/28/2009 Added a layer of glass to the inner radius pieces. Will be adding a couple more layers to it tomorrow and doing some sanding in prep for the next stage. 5/4/2009 Got a little more done... weather has treated me a little better but not a whole lot.. hoping for a good weekend. Here is some pictures of the underside getting some attention. None of these pieces are permanently in place but they will be soon.

again.... Now I have attached them to the subwoofer rings another shot And now some resin so they can harden in this position Another shot again and the last one for the night! Manged to get some filler added... lots of sanding/filling left to do.

Mounting rings attached to the flush rings and set in the enclosure. Fits like a glove... a tight glove. Angle shot Plopped Al's Powerbass 15's in it to see how it looks with the subs. Haven't decided what subs I am going to use yet. Top view Stage VI 3/31/2009 This next part is where I fill the gaps between the subwoofer rings and the front radius (done just a few hours ago) Made this from a ½" thick hard cardboard ring. Here they are setting in place. another view

weee Stage IV 3/24/2009 Little more... still undecided on part of it but progressing. Another view Stage V Doesn't fit like you want it and spending more time trying to get it to work right.... have to karate chop it to move on lol Cut some flush mount rings for test fit It's gonna fit nicely!

Closer Look Inside Angle view Stage III Made the sides and put them on so you can *kinda* see what's coming. Another angle weee! Well below the window line although it is going to get a little higher but will still clear by plenty. And another angle Corner Shot... I like this view! Managed to get a little more done. More resin to sand down yay!

Closer look Centering the center board and side boards It fits! A little closer Inside look Another inside look This part of the enclosure is nearly finished... well not really Stage II Attached dowel rods tonight and added some 45º boards.

Sundown did a hell of a job @ MidwestSPL finals this past weekend. Klade Turner and Daniel Arbuckle (ME) were both in the same class and took 1st and 2nd place in the Basic 4 class. Team Sundown FTW! I took second in a "pretty box" with two 15" Nightshades, Klade took 1st place. WTG Klade! Had never met Klade before this weekend and was glad to meet him, great competitor there. GJ! Thanks Jacob Great Products! Here is what I was using..

My new 15" Nightshades were delivered yesterday and I am quite happy with them already! Thanks a bunch Jacob! Sorry if I came off a little anxious... but I was anxious lol Gonna be working them in over the next few days to loosen them up a bit for the show this friday Happy like a little kid in the candy aisle. Happy to represent Sundown, I'll do my best! Time to Break them in! Still have tons to do before the enclosure is finished but here is what it looks like with NIGHTSHADES!! Rubber gaskets are just laying on top of the subs in this pic.. still have to get the tnuts in.

Looking for a one amp setup for next year. This should fit perfectly.
-
Here are some pics of some of the latest additions to the enclosure. Still have alot to do to it but I did make it a little prettier for MidwestSPL Finals that just ended hours ago.
-
More pics coming soon! Not doing to bad in a *pretty box* 151.2 was the highest so far at about 3200 watts. Will be making a SPL oriented enclosure before too long also.
-
Yes I do haha! Thanks everyone! Glad you like it I've been working pretty hard on it. The complete build is on the SMD site and the MidwestSPL site also. The subs are quite impressive I must say, they go quite well with the enclosure I have built for them. I'll post more pics of the enclosure as I progress. Team Sundown!
-
Thanks! I haven't had them long but they already sound potentialicious!
-
Ahhh couldn't find the reply button.. Thanks! At the moment the subs set still at about 40hz but will be tweaking the tuning as I go. Not really an all out SPL enclosure, more of just cool looking but I can't help but make it as loud as possible. I'll post some #'s soon.
