Go to www.ups.com and enter the 18-digit tracking number. The website should tell you where the package is.

Sounds to me like there were a lot of problems. Not surprised the sub died after reading all of that.

I would have kicked someone in the face by now. That's some .

How do i set the bass boost on my amplifier?
inkfx replied to streetbeater07's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
IIRC, Jacob said it was for when the gain is maxed out and you still can't get enough voltage. Like if you have a really low pre-out voltage as stock head units do. -
My dad is thinking about doing a full treatment in his Tundra soon. He just wants a nice quiet ride so I'm hoping to achieve that with a combination of 'em all.

You got plenty of tire on those! I got rubber bands on my 22s. lol

The AQ is $389 shipped, not $425 + shipping. Both are great amps. Haven't used them personally but I know a few guys that have and are pleased. Both companies have great customer service. It's a coin toss. -

Can't go wrong with either. IMO, go with whatever is cheaper. If price doesn't matter to you then get the Sundown. -
Wow that thing is burnt to hell.

I see those stickers a lot in the computer world. Any power supply you buy will have that sticker on the case. Also, any desktop you buy from Dell or HP has these stickers as well. However I'm convinced they use the stickers on the desktops as a marketing scam to lock people out of upgrades or easy hardware fixes.

Ok so for the last day or two I've been at a total loss as to what's causing problems with my system. I've had it running for a few months now on this brand new SAE-1200Dv2 without a single hiccup until last night. So, this is how it started... I was on my way to my friends house when my subs cut out a couple times. Thought to myself, no biggie, must be a loose connection somewhere. I checked my ground and it was fine. I took a DMM to the subs which presented a 1ohm load, so that checked out. I took the DMM and measured voltage at the battery and amp, which read 14v+. The amp is also getting power as it did not go into protect or turn off. I also took the amp off the switch to eliminate that as an issue. After a little narrowing down, I found out they only cut out when the volume goes to 21 or higher. I only ever go up to 25. I turned the gain down quite a bit and still had the same issue. It will play shortly with the volume at 21-25 but it cuts in and out. I also pulled my headunit out and double checked all those wires. Although I don't think that's the problem since my components are unaffected by this problem. It seems to only be my subs. I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on. Especially since it's worked just fine until yesterday. The only thing I can think of trying next is pulling the amp out and inspecting the fuses and internals even though the green light is always on, even during the cut-out periods. I'm also going to pull the subs out and inspect them a little closer. I just don't see what could have happened here. Am I missing something or is this some shenanigans here?

Well Jacob here gave me a nice list of options I have. Now I just need to decide if I want to give another go at a SAE-1200D. Perhaps 3rd times the charm? At any rate, I will have to wait till Friday when I get paid so I have a few days here to decide what to do. Once again, I'm very pleased with the customer service. Dealing with Sundown is like night and day with most companies out there.

Yeah definitely didn't touch anything. Just looked inside to make sure nothing was burnt. I'm not an amp repair man so I have no business poking around in there.
-
I was simply trying to eliminate the possibility of something being burnt. I just wanted to be as thorough as I could before jumping to conclusions. I cant even begin to think how ridiculous that would be. Man thinking about that makes my anxiety go up.

I babied this SAE-1200D so I'm really surprised it just quit working all of a sudden. I've had a stressful ass week as it is and this doesn't make things any easier. :\ Music and my car are one of my coping methods so it sucks to be without.

Yeah, I've been thinking about upgrading to something around 2k but I don't have the cash right now. I'm sure all will go well with this Sundown RMA so I may try and step up to a 1500D or a 2000D if Jacob will let me. If not, I may just save up for a little bit and pick up an AQ2200D. All depends on the RMA. My last one went really smoothly so I'm sure this one will too. Jacob is a great guy and knows how to run a business.
-
Thanks for the suggestion but clipping is not the issue here. The subs cut out no matter where the gain or volume is set.
-
Yeah it just sucks since I've had 1 SAE-1200D crap out on me already. Just not in the mood to have downtime right now and pay shipping charges on sending the amp in. I'm pretty sure it's under warranty but I guess I wont know for sure until I talk to Jacob. I'll be absolutely crushed if it's not. I do NOT have the money to buy a new amp. It's sad because all my friends with their Hifonics and Quantum Audio doubt the power and quality of Sundown amps. But I guess they have a right to since they don't have any problems and I seem to always have something going wrong.
-
Yeah that sounds a LOT like what is happening to me. I just don't have very good luck with these Sundown products. I put in a message on the Sundown website a few hours ago so I'm sure Jacob will get back to me sometime tomorrow. I'm wondering if maybe I can step up to a SAZ-1500D or something this time around. Not a real big fan of the SAE series anymore.

Also tried a different set of RCAs and the problems continue. Everyone agree it's RCA inputs on the SAE-1200D?
