  1. 1) Not necessarily. One amp at 80% efficiency is exactly the same as two amps at 80% efficiency. 2) Not double. You can still do one run of 1/0 or similar to the back, then use a distribution block to go to the two amps. All you'd need is an extra couple feet of each wire. 3) No. If you strap amps, you only use one amp as the master, and that controls the output of both amps. Thus only one bass knob is needed. SAZ-2000 and SAZ-2500s both do optimum power at 1 ohm. Cut it in half (or 1000-1500) for a 2 ohm load. On top of all that, he needs his power at 2ohms. Most of the nice amps normally recommended wouldn't cut it due to them doing power at 1 ohm. Look out for the new SAX-1200 as well. It's strapable and from the looks of it outperforms the SAZ-1000D.

    question for sundownz

IIRC, Jacob mentioned something about a component set here on the forums. However, he has a LOT on his plate as far as subwoofers and amplifiers go. If he does eventually release some I bet they will be great speakers. I'd love to have an entire Sundown vehicle.

Saturdays and Sundays are tough for me to get off but I know that's the only time 99% of the people have so I can work around it. I hope.. lol

    another centex meet???

Either one works for me as long as I can give my boss a heads up. We should have a September 11th "America, fuck ya" meet.

140 db set up on a single Fi Q12?

I don't know why people cannot believe that install/box design is that a big of a factor. That and the car it's going in.

140 db set up on a single Fi Q12?

So your saying this Fi Q12 couldn't reach 140 db? No, I'm saying you picked the wrong woofer to chase numbers with. I never said anything about not being able to do it. Good luck, though. My buddy has 2 15 Qs on 2200rms and was doing 143s. I'd be very impressed to see a single 12 do 140s. My buddy had a single 12 Q running a 139 windows up on the windshield with a TL. This was in an extended cab Toyota Tacoma. I'm sure he broke 140 with the windows down. I think he had about 1200 RMS on the sub, and the box was something like 2.6 cuft tuned to 33. The funny thing is that he now has a BTL 15. So if you want loud, just get a BL or BTL now. Also, my DD 9512g did a 140.4 in the kick with about 1100 watts after voltage drop. With a better designed box, better electrical, and my pre-ordered SAZ 2500. I'm shooting for 144s! Thats pretty cool off a single 12. I guess the difference in this situation is the car. The guy I know had them in a 95 caddy deville but he just got a 18" NS. (CaddyMatt here on the forums)

    $100 components

There are a lot of threads on this matter. As many, if not everyone will tell you, you have not provided us with enough information. Be as specific as possible and detail your plans on the install. On top of that, most people around here will just tell you to go to a shop and listen to different comps. Although, not many shops carry components or any decent ones at that so that is pretty hard to do in some cases. It really kind of blows me away... do people really expect there to just be a shop that has every single set of components just open for listening? Silly logic.
  13. I bet if you upgrade to 1/0 wire you will notice a difference. 1/0 is going to handle that power a lot better.

    RIP to my Q's...

Damn bro, sorry to hear that! Those were such great sounding speakers too. Maybe I'll convince my lady friend to buy the box off you. She just bought a green '96 Deville just like yours.

    Opinions on a laptop

After a little research, the Asus for 1599 you linked on newegg is a solid laptop. I looked into the nVidia mobile GPUs and they are just renamed old technology.

    Opinions on a laptop

I used to do a lot of F@H a few years ago but stopped when I sold my computers and got my laptop. The overclocking forum I belonged to always had contests vs the SETI team. Try to find a laptop with a 7200rpm drive. Either that, or buy an SSD for a boot drive. Most of the 17" widescreen laptops have 2 hard drive bays. Also remember the laptops get REALLY hot when running at 100% 24/7 or however long you run the client. That is the only reason I don't run it on mine. The damn thing just burns up.

Help! The brits are trying to F_ck me!

They are probably still sore from getting dominated in Futbol by Germany.
  23. Check your grounds and other connections. Something may have come loose. I always find it best to do as much troubleshooting you can then come for help. That way, we know what you have and haven't tried. A lot of times, the problem is just something silly that can be figured out pretty quickly.
