  1. in all actuality im not to worried about the ap lasting longer then the aq cause neither one would get that much play time on it. it will be in my summer/weekend cruiser so it wont be used all that often. either way the selling point for me was on the 1ohm stable out of the aq, i couldnt find anything that could give me a true answer on if the ap was or was not 1 ohm stable. there is a lot off ppl saying "my buddy had one runnin at one ohm just fine " and other ppl sayin "it cant sit at one ohm for very long" . too many mixed reviews for me to be certain on the ap, but everyone seams to have nothing but good things to say about the aq. another thing that turned me away from the ap is the way i would need to run the wires to the subs (1 vc to 1 ch) .
  2. i need an amp to push my 15" btl fully loaded dual 2ohm. i cant post in the fs/wtb section so i figured i would try to see what my options are this way. i am looking for something that is 2000w+ @1 ohm stable and not too power hungry. i have two yellow tops, 220 amp alt and all 0g wire (including "the big 3") i sit at about 14.4 volts with the truck at an idle and 3 viar compressors runnin. im lookin to spend about 350 shipped. if you think of any that might wok for me please post them up. not sure if i can buy one from anyone on here cause of my lack of post but if i can just send me a pm. thnx.
  3. well thanks for the info guys but i think im set on getting the aq2200d, i would rather run at 2100 @ 1 ohm then run 1900 @ 1ohm plus i feel a lil safer with a more quality amp.
  4. now ur confusing me. u said that the audiopipe walks all over the AQ2200d that does 2100 @ 1ohm. but now u are saying the audiopipe only puts out around 1900 @ 1ohm.
  5. is there something im missing? i sit steady at 14.4 right now and even before i did the big three i was never under 13.8
  6. so you are saying i should go with the audiopipe would be better for me? do u know bench test results on those at all? thanks
  7. i hope so, if you would like to know more about my electrical u can read my original post. if u think i could get it stronger please let me know. (besides buying new batts)
  8. i couldnt get a price off there site so thanks. what do these bench at?
  9. i thought about going that route but then i remembered i have a couple shows that i want to hit with the truck before the wedding so i need something soon, then after the wedding i will invest in a better amp if im not happy with whatever one i get. the only ones i can find new right now in my 350 range is: audiopipe ap30001d massive audio p30001 i wouldnt mind a used amp but i cant seem to find any that have been suggested.
  10. how much do they charge you to do it? if its something you heve to get done often you might as well invest in a torch, you can get a hand held torch from any hardware store. i bought mine awhile ago and if i remember right it was fairly cheap (under 30). its just as easy as it looks. Charge me to do what? I used my vise to cruch the connector onto the wire. i quoted the wrong post, it was ment for the post before urs. sorry for the confusion.
  11. i was on all last night tryin to find amps and the only ones i could find in my price range were the audiopipe 3000.1 and i havent heard much about them good or bad. on top of that im really not a fan of the tacky looks.lol
  12. Is this for competing, or daily driving? If it's daily driving, you could possibly relax your power requirements some as the difference between, say, 1500w and 2000w won't be audible. its for both, well kinda. it is going to go in my show truck/weekend cruiser. but i only hit one or two comps a season (not very many happen in wi that i know of)
  13. i was looking into these but i cant find one in my range
  14. im liking that stetsom but it didnt have a price on it, what do they usually go for?
  15. 350 is all the future wife is allowing me to spend on an amp right now, i got a wedding to pay for in a few months.lol

  17. i just learned how to do this myself. i started off by using acid based solder, i quickly learned that there was something not right with it. i did a lil more research and found out it need to be a resin based solder. lol all i did was heat up the connector and the wire with a propane torch and put the solder to it, it all fell into place after that. the one thing i didnt like about soldering is that the wire coating would melt a lil bit, but hey i guess thats why they have a jacket to got over them.

    yup, 3/4" double baffle
  19. i have been killin myself trying to figure out a box design for my ranger and have gotten nowhere with it. i got a couple reply's on other forums but nothing set in stone. the sub is a 15"btl and my dem are 50" wide x 16 tall x 16 deep, 5.9cf before sub displacement and port displacement. i need it to have ports on both sides of the sub cause i want the sub in the center of the box (its that way to even out the weight in the truck). i would like it tuned to around 33-34hz.. any help on figuring my port length would be great. please put in laymans terms cause i am not very bright when it comes to this kinda stuff. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks btw the sub and ports are firing to the roof here is kinda what im talking about.

the problem i am having is on the two "L" parts touching the port coming off the top with the double baffle =13", that will give me the 2.25" i need for the port width off the bottom the lower port then measures 21.25 so that would only laeve me 1"between the two lower port boards right?

thanks for that helpful tip, i was trying to but my math didnt come out right and in stead of me bustin my head more than i already am i figured it would be easier to have KU40 do it so i can see exactly what he means. sorry if that sounded shty but i have been tryin to figure this out for about 3 weeks now and im at the piont to just say f it. i was also thinkin round ports might work better, any thoughts on that?
