i hardly have my gain up, maybe 25%, its hard to move the gain up with 8v preouts. I guess though 600rms or so would be good. Anyone use the Cadence tx-a750D? Is it rated or a little underrated?
-
Anyone here use around 600rms on a Mag 15? I am debating instead of adding another battery into the car to just downgrade the power going to it. 600rms would be half of what I'm sending to it now. Its in a sealed box. Think it owuld be a huge difference in output or does the Mag do really bad with that amount of power?

i was wondering what the word is on these from people who've actually used them. i am looking to use them as replacements for my M6 in the doors in a 3way setup so its used to play 100-315hz, maybe 80hz at the lowest. How well do they do as a true midbass driver compared to the M6, Tang Bands, Adire and other midbass drivers.
-
Nick sounds like you're having loads of fun testing these drivers! Thats awesome that the new Mag will be better. I would think it would be hard considering how well the current model is doing. As for VC, no D4 option? Also how much bigger will this new Mag be over the old one? Wondering if I can make it work in my current box.

Single 15 LSQ setup...So many options
Upstage Audio replied to kingsham's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
why not get a SI Mag or SS RL-p or something. ICON would be a good choice too. -
so this is the company that used to be called WMD or did they just buy the subs from the copmany that went out of business called WMD. Or did they just rebrand their company to something else in hopes to sell them again. They were selling those subs for dirt cheap and no one was still buying them.

its a slightly larger box than I have, mine is 2.5cu ft but you will get good results. I love how mine blends in wonderfully musically at all volumes, but change my EQ settings and that thing can go nuts. Its a great sub.

i can't wait til this Fi boner is done with. It was the same as RE one a while back.

well whats your buget? I know the HD series from CDT will fit well in there but not sure if your amp has the power for them. CL-e may work also. Email me if you have questions. [email protected]

i keep them around 1khz. I'm still playing around with them and haven't finished up the kickpanel to hold them. Have them in a small cup like pod right now.

the Rl-i 8 is hard to beat. I also like the JL 8w7 but its way too expensive for it.

Have you gotten ahold of the ES-06 or the 06+ or the M6+ yet? Just curious because I'm getting ready to rebuild my front stage and I'm just trying to decide on which of these I want and whether the ES series are worth the close to 2X price difference. How low do you have the HD-2 crossed and at what slope? no not yet but from talking to matt and ken about them and knowing how the M6 is they'll be quite nice. I believe also in the BMW that was at CES which i sent one of my friends to see since i had family crap to take care of it was quite nice. I don't think i'll be using the ES-06+ or m6+ due to install requirements. The M6 does enough midbass for me and after i work a little more on the doors I'm sure i'll cure the problems i have right now with the trim panel vibrating.

you guys haven't tried the M6 driver then or the new ES drivers cmoing out. M6 has good amts of midbass and can even go into sub frequencies as long as your doors can handle it. They do have a 3in driver coming out also so we'll see how that is. 2in is a little beast and fun to use as a main tweeter in the kicks.
-
well, haven't been around for a bit so I'd thought i'd drop by and say hello. Been busy with my new job cause working in a car audio place sucks....only the owner makes the money. But just to let you on some new products, CDT has offered the 2in driver in the HD line. Uses a different coating on the cone than the ES. ES is more a delicate driver than the HD one. Its a little beast though. little over an 1in deep, should be fun in the car though. Careful on the crossover points though, from the little use I've used in a temp pod I think I like it at 1k hz and up. I'll be using it as my main tweeter with the drt-26 as my image one. I'll try and get pics up here as soon as i can get it off my Treo.

Unbiased speculation on the upcoming TC-SMT
Upstage Audio replied to flakko's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
i think in the initial thread, my question was answered on my speculation. "The SMT is not a low budget shallow mount compromise and should give our 2k and 3K a run for their money above 35-40hz." While this maybe a good shallow mount subwoofer, the low end is lacking is if it is good above 35hz or more. I like how the Mag is a beater around 30hz and won't give that up.
