Amp instalation questions. (supplies needed, etc...) help needed along
emh9009 replied to swagger_wagon468's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If the tweeters don't fit try placing them in different locations that are available to you in regards to how deeply you want to customize their new home. See what sounds the best to you and put them there. And yea, just cap the wires off, or electrical tape them or something. Just dont let them touch metal. -
In reality it comes down to how you tune the amp. You could have a rated 5k watt amp, and a 1k watt amp and not notice, if you've tuned them both to push "800 watts". So if you're asking if one is going to be louder at gain level X than the other, than i would say no. The difference would be how hard the amp has to work to get to the required wattage you want, which will put your electrical in check. Going with the 5 and 1k watt amps, it will be much easier for the 5k to do 1k watts than the 1k amp. That is where the head room comes into play. Anyone correct me if i'm wrong. this is just how i see the situation.

of course. i have 2 Kicker L7 12" (2009 model) i gotta really good deal. i just need a box and amp(sundown 2500.1). and the BIG 3. i will have to have wires coming from both amps right? For that power, yes. He was thinking that you could run 4 gauge from the front of the car to the rear at a distribution block which then would split to two different amps; the sub amp and the comp. amp. But that was assuming much less power goals -

Yes, knu offers wire kits that aren't full copper. that kit i sent you is. There are different kinds of kits. I also say no rear fill, but if you really want to, go ahead. It's your car. I would assume they will fit, yes do you have stock tweeter locations? -
Welcome back, there has been too much good stuff to list what you've missed. But i dont know when you were last here

For simplicity i would get this kit http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KFX-AK8 Again for simplicity as a first install, you will be running passive with your speakers, if you're planning on using the Xover that the comps. come with. Dont run any speakers off the HU power, just use the amp and your bravox comps. You want to mount the speakers to something solid. Like the metal part of your door, if needed a plastic/wood baffle to hold the speaker there. You can use the stock one if the speaker fits. I think what M5 was getting at was NOT attaching the speaker to the door card or something flimsy like that. you need a solid base. -

So. There is no law saying you have to have rms power. X2, just be smart and niece to the volume and gain knobs. You don't have to get the sub "fully loaded" talk with them about what you're planning to do and they can tell you what you should need to get, if any of the options. That's what makes them custom. If they were meant to be sold fully loaded to each and every person they wouldn't give you the options.

Very nice, haha did you have it turned up at first, when you asked "it's not bad, right?" priceless expression

Why so many ellipses? -
Jumping on a forum and trying to badmouth a company without understanding what they are talking about or the other side of the situation, and making false accusations is never good.
-
I believe you can run a set of components off of this, and your sub bridged for a solid amp at a great price.
-
You dont need rear fill for the people in the back to hear the music. it's not like they are walled off to the front cabinet.

 missed this again. working on my doors haha
