That's a lot of power to be messing with on your first build/car. Remember to keep learning and have an open mind to what you see. A lot of internet jumbo can be taken with a grain of salt. Just because a sub has a lower RMS doesn't mean it wont get loud. 2 12s with a 500 watt RMS have a lot of potential to get louder than a single 15 off of 1,000 rms. Cone area really helps. What do you have to compare to? What kind of systems have you heard/been in?

What if you really do blind someone temporarily and they do swerve to get out of the light and hit someone? Not the best thing to be doing, should really think about aiming those to prevent this from happening. Don't get why my last post got - rep.

Truck looks good. It's custom, but not extreme to be "out there". Tasteful. If you're trying to get loud, putting those subs in a sealed enclosure with hinder their output. Seems like you have contradicting ideas

Is your volt meter accurate? Try calibrating it, make sure it's reading what your batt. is really at.

You dont really want the subs firing right above the end of the port, on the inside. Causes turbulence/cancellation stuff

Pics of the car itself would be nice. Inside and out The max dimensions, if i recall correctly are about 35 wide and 40 long. i wouldnt go any more than 20 tall. That is taking into account you're making a false floor, which will be raised above the two bumps on the rear wheel wells that are most protruding. Hope that makes sense. It will when you go get a tape out there. If you dont make the false floor higher than those bumps then you'll have about 28" width. I've got a box that is 35/34/17ish in my rex. now. Just under/about 7 cubic feet after displacement. Did you ever think of 4 Dcons?

Went down to O'rilies today and got their only alt that would fit my car. I'm across state so i have no tools or anything so i cant even attempt to swap alts out on my own. Have to find a shop to do it tomorrow morning. Was really hoping to get this done yesterday, i have to go back home tomorrow. Dont want to miss class tuesday if i dont have to. Hopefully i can find someone to start on it ASAP in the AM, get it done before noon. 8 hours of driving after that.

Have you checked walmart or radio shack? should have something for ya' between those two stores.

I hope building a box isn't a waste of time. At least learn something from the build, even if you don't get it right. I would say the only negative of using them is the cost and not having the "brace" that slot ports have. But how hard is it to put in some dowel bracing where the box really needs it, which would help in either case?

I've done the same. On one of the bolts that holds a metal piece in place for the plastic console to screw into. (to the chassis metal, not the support metal.)
