"breaking in" is the spiders and surround getting looser, which will increase the low end output a little. You can put it's RMS to it right out of the box (in the right enclosure), no need to give it 1/2 rms, then 3/4 then full or whatever the hell it is people do.

Ordered a xs power 5100, realized my mistake and let Aaron know about it. I needed reverse polarity, and he promptly corrected my mistake and everything went smooth as silk. Happy first time customer, and look forward to more purchases in the future. SSA rocks.

Even if it is blown, eat the repair costs and get this resolved correctly. The guy is out 400 dollars right now, and you have both. Quite easy to send him HIS money back.
