Port walls and braces look clean. Keep it up!

For someone to be able to design you a box you first need to list the dimensions of the max area you're able to give up in your vehicle, for obvious reasons.

Amp Tunning
emh9009 replied to FiAudioSubwoofersjj's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If you mean the remote knob, then you want to have that plugged in and turned all the way up while setting your gain. That's not meant to "boost" anything, just the ability to adjust the bass up to a certain point. -
Selling my 4 SSA Gcon 12s. Dual 2s. Ran with 4 batteries and a Mechman 150, and a sundown 3k. Didn't let voltage go below 13.2. $150 each +shipping OBO I'm located at 98133 and these will most likely be right at 30 lbs to ship so you should be able to get a quote off of that. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/product-information/gcon.html

Looks great! Really like the look of subs with no logo on them. I may have missed it, but what the VA logo?
-
Set it that way and see what changed. As far as you definition of "massive excursion", what are you comparing to? xmax on the BL is 18mm. It's not going to be moving like a Xcon or SP4.

Ditch the DD1 and tune the amp by your own senses.

electrical upgrade question
emh9009 replied to Will Harper's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Did you not read the answers given for the OP? You asked the same question he did, why would you get a different answer? Get the largest battery you can up front, do the big three in the largest wire you have, get a volt meter and see where you are. If you want higher/steadier voltage get a bigger alt or add another battery. -
That's what I was thinking...

There is never a set date given for fi subs. They're put on the site as they're ready. No reason to be upset that a time frame was off for a said speaker; nothing was promised.
-
Yes, really. It's official. They've had the parts for them for a long while now, they're just waiting for the business to settle before they release them to the general public.

How to: Fiberglass Door Pods ( Panels ) Complete Video Tutorial with C
emh9009 replied to mklett33's topic in Technical Info & How To's
Factory locations don't always provide the best positioning of the speakers for the user. Plus these look 100x better than a factory door pod, don't ya' think? OP, how did you attach these to the door itself?- 6 replies

There are way too many different variables for that information to make much sense to your install. Just try it and see if you like it. If not, change it 'till you do. It's a whole lot easier than getting people on the internet to tell you what to do. Edit: Read your first post again. You're looking for a sub that will play from 60-100? That's pretty damn pointless. What's wrong with what you have now that you want to change? What have you already tried to alleviate what you don't like?
-
You're assuming they make these in house. Which they don't. It's cheaper to order in bulk, as I'm sure you know.
-
I like the idea, but would assume it would be a little expensive to have stock on all sizes for all sub series. I hope not...

CCA vs OFC is there really a big difference?
emh9009 replied to nigel's topic in Technical Info & How To's
1/0 OFC welding cable can get pretty damn cheap. This is where I get my wire. They have "remnant sales" of loose ends they sell for even cheaper with free shipping from time to time. They update their pricing every month by what copper costs. http://www.electronbeam.com/weldingcablestandard.html "July 2013 Pricing, EB-flex, Class K, Welding Cable 6g (16 mm sq) EBT Part No. 31-PXL...... $0.48 per foot 4g (23 mm sq) EBT Part No. 46-PXL...... $0.75 per foot 2g (35 mm sq) EBT Part No. 69-PXL...... $1.10 per foot 1g (43 mm sq) EBT Part No. 84-PXL...... $1.34 per foot 1/0 (54 mm sq) EBT Part No. 107-PXL...... $1.67 per foot 2/0 (68 mm sq) EBT Part No. 134-PXL...... $2.07 per foot 3/0 (85 mm sq) EBT Part No. 168-PXL...... $2.60 per foot 4/0 (109 mm sq) EBT Part No. 214-PXL...... $3.33 per foot Check back weekly for our weekly specials." -
