Portland Oregon... Hey, only a state away! haha you should come up to kent, WA on sept. 4th for Import Alliance!
-
I know, probably going to a distro block to power all the amps from one run. Just givin' him shit.
-
You're in the NW? where at?
-
New speakers installed! Why do you need 2/0 for a 125.2? lol Overkill
-
haha never heard of a "frunk", makes total sense though! Lookin' good. In my opinion i think it would look nice with some black carpet over the amp rack.

I see the price on these being more because it's a set & not one driver... The 6.5 & the neo 8 has the same motor if I was reading the first post rite. So if two neo 8"s are $200 + shipping. So take that price, add the price of what ever tweets & X-overs they use, adds 50 to 150 more. Plus SD prices are never packet (till the sa8"s & bstock form what i see)& shipping = 450-500 as a wost case. Why I say I would luv to see $150 or lower Where did you read anything about a set? This isn't the component set they are working on..
-
Try giving them a call? Your email may be going to their junk box, never know.
-
Why would the price on these be so much, would they not be in the same range as the 8s and 10s?
-
I would say it should be easier/quicker and have a better chance at getting an answer would be to call and leave a message with the directly.

SSA Welcomes Mechman High Output Alternators to the forum!

Why yes, yes I did...but 36" of port is a lot of length to work with. Could have made it work but took the lazy route. I won't tell anyone.
-
Worked out well placing the amp and subs like that. Did you ever think to have the port fire above the amp?
-
I had settings turned up too high, caused pretty bad voltage drop. Alt can't keep up with the demand. Called Rob, left a message. No reply today, but I'm a very patient person.

Yeah, that first shot of the box in the back looks GREAT! Waiting for more

I love fuses. Was driving down the road, wasn't paying attention and turned my bass knob up for a certain song, then the next one that came on was too much and popped all the 40 amp fuses on the 1500. Second time fuses have saved me hundreds of dolla'! I need to call DC power and see what's going on with the 180 HP alts.

Doin' work! Why didn't you go with JBL on the new comps? Didn't like your old ones-love mine
-
Yeah, they are wired in with the passive Xovers. Don't know what happened! I've checked the connections and wire runs a couple times, everything looks fine. If it happens again, i have a spare at least. Then i know something is REALLY wrong. Maybe that tweet was just a lemon? I don't hear a pop. A faint click from my 1500 when it turns off/on, but that's not the amp I would suspect to hurt my tweet. The last tweet blew running active, so who knows what i've done lol poor little speakers.

Sundown Audio vs Hifonics

I'm with 98GMC. Power may very well be the reason for your notice of change. If the lower power amp isn't very efficient (i have no idea, don't know about the amp and don't care to look it up), is rated at 14.4V while you're supplying it with 13v, subtle flaws in the design on the gain knob or a mix of various other things it may only be making ~ 7-800 watts of power. With the next, more powerful amp may be more efficient, rated at a different (lower?) voltage, and even with the possibility of the gain knob flaws it could be making close to double that power. That is where your change can come into play. Not saying this is what happened, i have no idea. Just an idea to keep in mind when trying to compare two amps side by side by their rated numbers. -
How good are SHURiKEN batteries?
emh9009 replied to jFreezy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I don't get what you think would change if they started at 14.4 volts or something? they would still drop the same amount relative to each other, i would assume. Whether they start at 12 or 16 volts, the point is to show that one battery can take more abuse and hold a charge better than the next. -
Jacket too thin, rubbed through it and ripped a bit? One way to another, that's crazy. Good thing it didn't do any damage to your car!

Sundown Audio vs Hifonics
emh9009 replied to Angelboy863's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You're just guessing on your numbers. There is no way to tell what kind of power was really being sent to your sub(s) on either of the amps. Just because it's rated at 1000 doesn't mean you're seeing that number at any time while using the amp. -

If you look at the machine it shows the voltage of the battery, they were all about 13.1V at the start. Just shows how much of a drop the battery goes through on the load put on it for X time. XS kicked ass. And they stated that there is nothing scientific about it. It's just showing what different batteries do. -
Drove to Seattle for a couple days. Driving around town didn't bug me much, but when you're sitting and listening to your system for hours at a time with a speaker missing (my right tweeter) it starts to get to ya'! haha Got home to a brown box waiting for me. A lot of packaging for a couple tweeters, eh'? Swapped the blown one out, but it's still curious as to why this one blew. Power shouldn't be a problem. Maybe from low voltage possibly Everything else seems to be fine.
