:suicide-santa: Ok, story time. Called the shop yesterday asking for timing belt and water pump replacement and to get my alternator swapped out. Combo deal! He quoted me "high" at ~$430, I'm ok with that so i make the apmt. for 8:00 AM today. I get there and get told it will be done before lunch. Around 1 they call and say my valve cover gasket is leaking a tad, so i give them the ok to replace that for $30. So we're at ~$460. Don't hear from them, so I give them a call at 4 and the lady told me the car was done and I can go pick it up. I get there only to be told they couldn't put the new alt in because they don't have the time to do it, the electrical connections are wrong, and it wont fit without major modification. Eff, that's a sucky loss. No more combo meal, and i'm not sure where the loss of time came into play, they had my car 8 hours! Get in to pay the bill and it's right at $490 after taxes and all. Automatically i'm asking why it still costs the same for less work than i was quoted for. His reply? "i planned to put the alternator in for free, so I'll refund your free money". That's QUOTED, straight from his mouth. I about shat myself. He left the room to leave me with the secretary that continued to complain about them moving shops and how she is having a horrible day, but still cracking jokes about my situation. :side note: Ran over some animal dead in the road on my way to Pullman earlier this week, had to get 2 new tires. In that process les schwabs tells me i have had the wrong lug nuts on my rims and they're surprised my wheels haven't all fallen off. Couple minutes later they come back to tell me my front drivers wheel is bent. So the damn animal bent my wheel, ripped one of my rear mud flaps off which ripped my bumper off a little, and destroyed 2 tires. Better than what could have happened, for sure. Just really sucked because i was an hour from my destination when this happened. Happy part of that car drive? Getting 38 MPGs! Not a good week with my car. Spent a lot of money! haha Tomorrow i plan to take a crack at replacing the alt with my dad or brother in law. See if we can figure something out. Sorry for such a long post, just needed to vent a bit! Ill get a couple pics of the alt up now. Give me a min.

Was on the other side of town visiting Elizabeth and helping her pack since monday. Came home last night at 1:30AM to have a nice package waiting for me Set up an appointment yesterday with a local shop because speedfactory didn't have time to work on customer cars in my time frame. They were working on their own race cars for the same even i'm getting ready for. So dropped the car off a couple hours ago, waiting for a call to go pick it up. Getting the timing belt and water pump replaced as well. Got some photos, but left the camera in my car. Later today, and a video tonight or tomorrow. Anyone know of songs with a nice 30 sec. high-ish frequency bass line? Box is tuned to 35, but i have no idea what to look for. I know I should get the resonant freq. but I don't have time for that right now. The low note in the song gets pretty freakin' loud. So about the range would be nice. I know there is a program for this, but i have no idea what it is or how to work it! Little help would be awesome! If i get replies you get pics of alternator

Is it bad to buy used batteries?
emh9009 replied to Angelboy863's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I bought a used battery on here, and it's fine... as far as i can tell But he is a reputable seller, not some random dude on craigslist. -
Should be able to find out which products you want from their site. They're adjustable because you can add a length of tube to a kit or whatnot, or cut a tube to get your desired length. http://www.psp-inc.com/products_menu.html I would use the option with more port area, but if you can't afford it, then it's a sacrifice you will have to make. Either of those amps will be fine, but i prefer some headroom so i would go for the 1500, especially if they're the same price. Any reason why you have 2 exact same threads?

Anyone going to this? Would be pretty sweet to meet up with some SSA people!
-
that's nowhere near WA!
-
I think 2 12" Dcons would be a great upgrade. From what I've seen they can do some damage
-
I can't tell.. did you sand it at all?
-
I would save the money and just use regular copper lugs, unless you really want the bling factor. less than $2 vs. $8. http://impulse-electronics.com/terminals_splices.aspx?sub_key=&id=91&cat_nm=10&key=Eyelet%20Terminals

http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/SS01/08506.oap?ck=Search_N0365_-1_2750&pt=N0365&ppt=C0005 That's what I would get.

8 15" Icons? I like the idea of more cone area, but Zcons are so damn sexy!
-
It's install dependent. It's going to change with every application.
-
They would probably be changing it daily then, depending on how busy they are. Wouldn't make any sense.
-
Would have been nice to see the amp and battery setup, just cuz'! They have a lot of loud vehicles, with great looking installs.
-
It doesn't matter. It's a stupid topic that has been started many times before. OP use the search feature.

Proud to support Fi. Would never hesitate to buy another sub from you guys. Keep up the good work, it shows in the quality of your products!
-
tune around 33 hz and you should be fine. If you don't want the cut sheet that is on SSA there are many people here who can help you in designing an enclosure.
-
Would help if you gave the max dimensions you're willing to give up in your trunk so Quentin can see what kind of room he has to work with. Just because a box is ported doesn't mean it's going to sound like ass. But of the flip side, just because a box is sealed doesn't mean it can't get loud. We can't automatically assume he needs a sealed box because he is "more into SQ".
-
Gain can be too high. Probably because you're tuned too high, so you're trying to push the sub harder to get more output on the low notes. not a good combo. X2 on why you tuned high, assuming this is a daily setup? Thanks, can't take credit for the avatar, saw it online somewhere
-
what do you consider extreme lows? At 42 hz. your SSF should be set about 37, so you're probably doing a couple things wrong.
-
Good to hear, yet you're still using a derogatory term for those officers who have helped you get this car back.
