what is the deal with BXI2610d?
emh9009 replied to SynCity's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
X2 i've used a bxi 1208 before, one crapped out on me about a month using it, and the second didnt last much longer. so i got a refurb. from db-r a couple months ago, and it is still working perfectly. he has amazing CS and cant beat the price i recently got a brand new sundown 125.4 and that is an amazing amp as well. either way you go with sundown you will NOT be let down, just check out all the customer reviews! -
ive had the same amp situation, not the shaking part though. check your ground, mine wasnt attached directly to the frame but once i did that it worked fine! good luck, and hope that helps

changing box : how does the sub "feel" it?
emh9009 replied to Notorious97200's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
is the box bigger? maybe it just has more room to move and it is sorta going through another "break in" stage and stretching the stiff surround or something? just a thought, i really have no idea for sure -
i have a refurb saz-1500 and it works perfectly. even when i thought i had a problem with it Db-R's CS was awesome. He is very quick to reply to questions and anything you want to know. i dont know what kind of parts he uses, but they work for sure. dont hesitate, espically with a year of warranty on top of the much cheaper prices.

no output to speakers
emh9009 replied to emh9009's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i hooked the amp up to my dad's wires and there was MINIMAL voltage, even when moving the gain there was never more than 1.2 volts, and that was still just for a quick second. it just flat out didnt play at all after. i have it all out of the car now. and no, it never went into protect mode. what setting on DMM do i check my rcas? same as testing on speaker inputs? -
so after finally getting everything tuned to where i wanted and set-up i was driving around for a little bit and then out of nowhere there is no bass... pulled over right then and checked the amp.. blue power light is on, no sign of protect mode at all. after work i got home and checked my fuses, all is fine. other speakers are normal, but when i checked speaker outputs from amp there is 0 volts. how do i fix this? hope its not that bad, was just starting to enjoy it all again! its a sundown SAZ-1500D, I've only had it a couple months, but i did get it from Db-r.com, but he does good work, no?

Go get some cheap rca's, Sundown Amps do not like the expensive or top-notch rca's. I got my rca's from Autozone, the Tsunami kind for $9.99 (all sizes) and they work fine. these are the "cheap" ones from knu, the klarity kable. they are 8$... my dad just got home so im going to hook it all up to his car, it already has wires run and everything so ill see what happens there... -
no output to speakers
emh9009 replied to emh9009's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
made sure the rcas had proper connection and they seem fine. but when i had my DMM reading for volt rating and i moved my bass control knob, there was about .2-.3 reading every time i turned the knob, but it would go away very quickly. is that just a reading error on the meter? -

emh9009 replied to emh9009's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
im e-mailing chris about this all. he had me check some cap. inside the amp, but those were fine. i dont have another amp laying around that works how would i check the rcas? they are brand new from knu -
fold the rear seats down when you can, get some airflow through there. help me when i had my sub in a trunk.

Instead of coming on here you should of talked to db-r.com, since he fixes amps he could probably give you the best troubleshooting advice or tell you if it needs to be sent in to him for his repair. yeah i was going to do that in the morning, was just wondering if someone had an idea of what could be wrong and if it was an easy fix or not... -
what ohm rating are they seeing? 3k to each at 1 ohm is a lot... its 1k over the recomended. but that all depends on electrical, tuning, install... etc.
