Soldering Connectors
emh9009 replied to jdub0802's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
the way ive done it, and have seen it done is put the connector on the wire, crimp it enough to hold it in place while you work. then put in on something to hold the wire still (you will need both hands) and start heating up the connector and inside wire-best to make it all one temp. after a bit start putting the solder a little above the wire on the connector, so it *drains* down in between the wire strands and forms it all into one big ol' chunk of metal like that guy, but he didnt heat it up beforehand so it all pooled on top, it looks like -
playing what tone? he wants low end, so that doesnt matter much if its playing at 45 hertz

2 FI 15 BTL can't decide which amp to buy + ported box dimensions
emh9009 replied to thfuller's topic in Fi Technical
DONT x 1000 buy a box you find online for those subs, one or two of them. can't exaggerate that enough. you will want to build your own, or get one built for your application from a pro builder. -
Battery/Alternator Suggestions
emh9009 replied to nick9892's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
isnt performance>price? why would you buy something with low performance? lol x2 on the starter bat. and the volt meter. should be good, just have to get them and see what needs to be done from there. -
UPS and Fedex just keep coming and coming > : )
emh9009 replied to ChargerOn22s's topic in General Audio
just get the biggest gauge the amp can fit and you will be fine -
x2 on the 15" sub. that way you dont have the chance of choking it. be sure to give the port air space to move around into the cabin (assuming you are firing towards the rear of the trunk) what sub/port placement do you want?

Big 3 on 2002 Cadillac Seville STS HELP!!!
emh9009 replied to cbach1987's topic in Technical Info & How To's
same way you would do it on any other car, just different positioning of the components. may get tricky keeping the wires safe and away from moving/hot parts. unless you're asking for specific people who have done it before, i cant help you. get a chiltons or something and study the stock location of the wires and follow those. -

How much can a DCON 10 really take???
emh9009 replied to GeorgeW.Kush's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
for a daily groundpounder tune 30-33. the lower you go, the less output but more low end you get, and the higher the more of a fart box you get which yields more output but less low end. so you pick which you want, but a good middle is low thirties hope that helps -
Nooooo, install both sets! EDIT: No screws in the box? why both?
