I know someone that doesn't know much about audio and box tuning and such but managed to build a pretty good sub system. He had 2 10's and built the box like this, his words, " I built a box, drilled a hole, and stuck the pipe in." It was a flared aero port 3 or 4 inches diameter, not sure. It was in a chevy tahoe and sounded good and got pretty loud too that lucky sob. Does anyone else know someone who got lucky?

I've seen that some amps have a wired remote controller and my question is what does it do. Does it control the gain or bass boost because both of these are controlled by knobs on the amp so whats the point of having the remote? I don't know if this was posted before but i couldn't find anything on it.

I've never seen one either. What's the range on the numbers?

I've read that the bass boost boosts the signal in the 45 hz range and since cabin gain already makes the volume louder in that range it's useless and once you match the voltage on the head unit to the amp it shouldn't be touched. Something like that.

That's awesome. I bought one and now i know some of the potential the amp has.

I wanted to get this amp but will it give sufficient head room for the sub. I know that sundown amps are awesome which is why i want one but some people say you need a little more power on the amp than what the sub needs. The sub will be ported to which mike recommends only 800 watts to it (I think). That will give an extra 200 watts in solitude until called upon during spikes in bass lines. Is that enough or do i need more? I want this one because its cheaper than the 1500d. Any suggestions and confirmations will be greatly appreciated.
