    Custom box for 2007 altima

Haha thanks stefan, im sure andrew doesnt mind as i know i do not. After all i am sure andrews goal is to make sure everyone gets the best they can out of his boxes. I havent yet decided what sub yet, But its going to be paired with a saz 1000d.

    Custom box for 2007 altima

I hear ya. You can always have a rear seat down when your not carrying people in the back, and the rest of the time have a bit less output. But yeah doing a traditional ported enclosure not fitted to seal against the trunk will work fine. Take some measurements of the trunk area and trunk entrance, figure out your max dimensions for a box you could fit inside, then Andrew can build to that. Post a build log when you get a chance Real quick change, i skimmed through what you had said before. If you look in the original picture, the only thing behind the sub box is the back seat. There is not metal there. The back seats drop down and have a full opening to the trunk. Does that change your mind on any of it?

    Custom box for 2007 altima

Id rather not do a lot of cutting, still under warranty for a long while. Might just go with "just a normal box" haha. Thanks for the opinions. Glad you talked me out of it.

    Custom box for 2007 altima

Any opinions on how to do this without removing my trunk haha? The trunks in the altimas are HUGE so i definitely have a lot of space, but a lot of it is where that box is. Any opinions would be great. Also not sure if it would make much of a difference but i removed those 2 6x9s that you see in that picture of that guys car.

I want HIDs, but Im completely lost!

I am running 55w in projectors over a year now with no issues. I have seen many horror stories with the 55w in projectors (mainly smaller projectors) where the shrouds would actually start to melt. But hell if ur not having problems i bet they kick ass

I have heard that they have been having some problems with customs or something to that matter... I think they have recently cleared it up though, take a look. www.lightwerkz.com they offer pretty good stuff also.
  9. Thanks for the reply, yeah i was planning on having a bit of headroom just so if this doesnt make me happy enough ill be able to upgrade the sub a bit.
  10. Hey guys, right know i currently have a jl w6v2, its being run by an ancient rf amp thats putting out around 500 watts or so. First question... Would i be safe to run this amp at 2 ohms for the w6. Second Question... Honest opinion on the amp and overall quality...
  11. So i have decided that im most likely going to go with this, although i do have one thing that i am not too sure on. I currently have a jlw6v2 which are all dual 4ohm subs. So i am thinking i could run this at 2ohms and get it 900w, and just keep the gain down a bit since the w6 is rated at about 600w. What would you think about me doing that and is this the way to do it?

I wouldnt go with the 55w in projectors. Way too much extra heat for not so much more output...

    Upgrade from a W6

I know this will be mainly opinionated, but i am wondering on what you think would be a good step up from a 12" w6. I love the sound of the w6 but i want it to be a bit louder with the same quality. Again i am not looking for someone to try and give me proof of which sub is better or what would be better, but just personal opinions on what you think would sound similar to a w6 just a bit louder. 12" Fi Q 12 "Death Row 12" Icon
  14. yeah ive honestly had no problems with it at all, its about 10 years old actually... It is now getting an overheating problem, after about 10 mins of being on a decent level it will go shut off for about a minute and then go back on.

    Upgrade from a W6

Im looking into a new amp, box doesnt really matter at this point, but i would like to stick with a 12 due to the height in the back of the trunk. It will be going up against the back of my seat and in the altima the trunk gets lower close the back of the seat. I am looking at getting one of the sundown amps between the 1000-1200 amp range. sae 1000d, saz 1000d, saz 1200d etc, whichever one i could find used.

    Upgrade from a W6

I guess i should have researched the btl n1 before i made that reply. Cant seem to find a price on it, is it out yet?

    Upgrade from a W6

It is currently ported. I have a 2007 nissan altima with the premium bose system in it. The single w6 doesnt seem like it can keep up with the front end. It is loud, but the front end is pretty loud and by doing some research the bose system in the altima scores pretty well with a lot of people. I havent heard a btl in person before, but isnt that mainly an spl sub?

Anyone know who could make this enclosure?

Well ive done some more digging and found http://cgi.ebay.com/ZEnclosures-2007-up-ALTIMA-Subwoofer-Enclosure-SUB-BOX-/380277353247?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item588a4beb1f. So i think ill take some measurements, ive decided i want to go with a Fi Q, A single 12, i would like it to fit like that one does, except i would probably want the amp to be mounted on it if possible. What do you guys think? and yes i know i have pretty much completely changed course, but oh well haha.
  19. Hey guys, trying to get an enclosure made for me, but im not sure where to start. the jl stealthbox (http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_stealthbox_detail.php?fit_id=1620) is exactly what i want, except i dont want the w3, but they wont sell just the enclosure. Does anyone know someone who could make something similar for me?

Anyone know who could make this enclosure?

Not really my skill set unfortunately, im more mechanical/electrical haha. I figured it would be a long shot, but i know theres some really talented guys around here, and maybe one would have a 07-09 altima sedan haha

2007 altima opinions/help for setup, stealth box

Sorry to bump this, really trying to figure it out. Possibly in the wrong section?
  22. Hey guys, just bought a 2007 altima sedan, fully loaded. It has the bose system with the navigation in it. The speakers sound good, but its a little lacking on the low notes. Questions.... 1. Is it possible to wire in a sub to the stock system? 2. Does anyone here make a box similar to http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_stealthbox_detail.php?fit_id=1620 ( they dont sell just the enclosure ) 3. Looking at a 10" icon, fi q, or lethal injection. 4. Main goal is a clean looking trunk without taking out the spare. Been looking for a while, but havnt been able to find anybody doing boxes like this. Any opinions/help is greatly appreciated.
  23. Ok well right now i have a pair of Polk db651's in my front doors, and my stock bose speakers in the back (they barely put out any sound at all that i can hear). I have a sony gt620ip (not the best but its what i have). Now the question is... Will my front speakers get more power from the h/u if i disconnect the back two speakers?
  24. Yeah i figured that would be too easy haha Well in a couple weeks ill be purchasing an sae-1200d for my subs. My question is this... I have a rf p5002 that i will have laying around... Is there a way i can wire that up to the fronts, like a certain way so that theres less watts going to the speakers?
