Alright, thanks for the tips. Oh crap, I just noticed I spelled Torx wrong. Lol Dang it I can't edit it.

I know, it's not really for competing or anything just the ease of doing it. Just to lazy to buy a terminal cup.

Also, I have a question for the box. Should I get a terminal cup or should I just drill a hole and squeeze the wires through and put the wires through the box? How do you guys seal the hole? Can I use fiberglass to seal it?

Just clicked on their profile and says they hasn't been on since Apr 14, 2009.

No it's not the bass, it's just that a lot of road noise comes inside the truck so I got a lil' sound deadening to cover the back wall and replace the rear insulation.
-
I was adding some Second Skin Audio Damplifier I bought to the rear wall of my cab and was wondering if I should/can put some Damplifier over the vents?, There is a bunch of road noise coming from those vents (1 Behing Passener & 1 Behind Driver Seat).

Just strap em together. Sundown FAQ EDIT: Dual one ohm is perfect. Strap the amps at 1 ohm each with a final load of 2 ohms and wire the sub at 2 ohms.

Yea, it looks like I won't be covering them with damplifier. Probably just put the factory insulation over it to help the road noise a little bit.

Component Set Impedance?
tech2332 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Soon I will be getting a 12" AudioQue HDC3 (Copper Coils) and was wanting to finally upgrade my Front Stage Mids & Highs. This is the first time I dealt with Component Systems and 2-Channel Amps so some of these questions might sound stupid. I am considering RE Audio 6.5 Components or Rockford Fosgate T162s and they both are 4 Ohm. Does this mean that after you connect mid & highs to crossover then crossover to amp, then will the final impedance to the amp be 4 ohms? Or is there a way to wire component systems in parallel to get a 2 ohm load? One more question. Is each channel kinda like a different amp? For example, If I have a 4 Channel amp can I have 2 channels with a loads of 4 ohm and the other two with 2 ohm loads? (If anyone has suggestions on what Component Sets I should get please give your opinions. I would like to pay under $140 for just the component set. After I'm set on which component set, I will get a 2-Channel Amp) -

Thanks for the help. This definitely cleared up a lot of questions on my mind. I'll try to find a good set off eBay soon. -
Enclosure help Please so I can get building!
tech2332 replied to explosivesound's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Are you going to be doing a slot port? P.S. I think the recommendations are 6 cubes after Displacements (Sub, Port, MDF) -
So I'm thinking of getting the Lvl 4 12" for my single cab and have designed this Downfiring Enclosure with Port up enclosure. Box is 2.00 Cu. Ft. tuned to 35 Hz. (After Wood & Port Displacement).26 Sq Inches of Port, 21 inches in length. The Website says it recommends 1.5^3 Ported and 2.0^3 For SPL. Does this box look alright.?? Do you guys think 2 Cubes is enough?(If not I think I can squeeze out more space somewhere.) I also wanted to know what the sub displacement is for the Level 4 12"? Thanks, Danny

What do you guys think would be louder(To the ear)? A 12" Havoc 1.7^3 tuned to 33hz Ported or A 15" Havoc 1.7^3(or more) Sealed? Each with 1000 Watts RMS.

Ascendant audio recommends 1.5 - 2.5 CF ported for a 12" & 1.5-3.0 CF Sealed for a 15". Both of these recommendations seem small to me but I guess they just like small enclosures. Does your response still apply?

I'm not sure but this one at RE Audio is the same thing. RE Audio Calc. -
Make sure your RCA's are in the back of the HU and Amp

That 2nd vid was priceless. "Hold on that was the wrong song..." "WHAT!"

For wiring, distribution blocks, terminals, etc. you could go to KnuKonceptz or Darvex

i know when i need a o-scope i jsut pop donw to my local college (which has an electrical lab in it ) and ask to borrow there o-scope! itt works wonders! do you have a local college where they can help you out? Are you a student there or do you just go down there and ask for an o-scope? Wondering because there is a local community college very close to where I live but I'm still in High School.

$650!! That sucks. You should have built it yourself and asked people here for help to make sure you were doing everything right.
