So just recently my subwoofer and Amplifier started cutting out. What I mean is the speaker will play for a few seconds at the normal loud volume I play it at regularly then the sub starts making a weird noise, the amp light dims, and the speaker basically just stops playing. Any ideas what it could be? Maybe a short behind the speaker wiring? Just wanted to see If I could make this troubleshooting faster cause it's a pain getting that speaker out behind the seats of my single cab truck. I have a Sundown SA-10 wired @ 2 ohms Diablo Audio Technology 1000.1 About 1.25 Cu. Ft. Box tuned to 34 hz

Damn that looks good! I wish my 08 Silverado had all that room. This is some good inspiration to try and get back in it after over a year. Very nice work.

My sub is finally here! Audibel Customs Customer Service: I genuinely respect Quentin for being a very busy man and still getting back to his customer e-mails on the same day. It shows that customers are a big priority. Answered all my questions, and made this process very easy for me. Will definitely buy from again.A++ Custom Box: My custom box that Quentin made is not a box you would normally see since it was for a single cab with limited amount of mounting depth. Quentin made it possible for me to still jam in this little amount of space. Great sturdy box with a luxury look. Thanks Quentin!!!A++ SSA Customer Service & Product: On only about 600 Watts this thing pounds my truck! Everything flexes and gets loud. Louder than my 2 12's.Can't wait to get my Planet Audio RXD1400.Mark did a good job at responding to my question about shipping. Answered quickly a few hours later with an accurate answer. Shipping took a little longer than expected but I can't complain for this great sub and they hand build it so SSA gets an A++. First thoughts & Impressions: Wow is this thing HEAVY. I had to use quite a bit of force to lift this Monster. Way heavier than my 12" Memphis.Very bulky and sturdy sub. Sub Pictures: Had to take off seat heads to get box in.

I say go with the Icon 12's and if doesn't sound louder you can rebuild the box to be bigger and there'll be a good chance it'll be louder. I used to have 1 10" Icon, and it went LOW, nicely built subs.

Maybe this'll help. After you upload the pics, copy the IMG code directly to your post without changing anything. Don't click on insert media or any of that crap, just post it here DIRECTLY. Hope that helps.

Anyone heard of Power bastards?
tech2332 replied to Julian's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
That is true in some cases but I doubt this one. As shizzzon posted there are alot of variables that determine whether it's worth it or not. It's like cheaper amps, They usually market the "Max" Power it puts out, when in reality it will never even be close to that in RMS. I say look into Iraggi, DC Power, or Mechman. Especially DC Power, I hear nothing but good reviews on their alts.. -
SPL Head Unit
tech2332 replied to 1200 bandit's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
OMG, IM SORRY I THINK THE UNIT SUCKS o.k. On this unit you can't turn off the bass center frequency you must use it ( 60hz to 180hz) no flat. The bass focus delay affects the subwooter timing.Pause button takes 10 seconds maybe more before music play back. You never just get answer here. Are you talking about the low pass filter??. I think you're confusing that with something else. And a more detailed question would work, because I don't think I've heard of an SPL Deck...Like others said maybe you want something that doesn't skip, or that can pause. -
X2, Samsung has some of the best HDTV's out there. Samsung, Sony, LG, Toshiba's aren't too bad. X2, my brother has a 32" Vizio and it looks great IMO. Only thing that sucks on any HDTV is the sound quality. I'd recommend buying some type of speaker system. If you're on a tight budget you can get a decent 5.1 Computer-Type Speaker system for under $200 and you'll have to hide the wires or if you want get a nice little DVD/Amplifier and customize with your own speaker sets.

I have actualy been thinking about doing this with mine. ^ What would be some the pro's vs. con's in your opinion? Well, they are well suited for both sealed and ported, but the vast majority of Xcons are in ported boxes that I know of. The pro's and con's are inline with advantages and disadvantages of going sealed over ported (in theory >> higher potential power handling, flatter response, greater excursion, lower output, less efficient etc.) With the Xcon being a low distortion design, and having high excursion capabilities, it can really excel in sealed. Thats what is stopping me, the lower output. Flat and low is a good thing, Maybe I give it a go since MDF would be the only cost to find out and if I like them sealed I could always add 2 more. Sorry to crap your thread acex. Build looks nice bro. In a proper enclosure, they don't lack output sealed. I wish I had a bigger vehicle for a couple 12" Xcons. The 10" Icon on 500 watts sounded amazing in a ported box. And output was fantastic for an SQ driver.

suggestion on 12" subs in a ported box
tech2332 replied to Dangerous10k's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Exactly what I was thinking. Tuning that high would sound like . The REAL Bass notes are probably not even audible at that point. It's like using mid's for the highs. -
How much space do you have to work with? What vehicle is this going in? Any electrical upgrades?

I hope this works. (Yes I'm Bilingual/Chicano)
