Alpine PXA-H100 IMPRINT Audio Processor
alexj01_83 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Has any one here ever used one?? I was taking a look at it today. One thing i would like about it is i could put it in my trunk and only have the Ai-net cable running to the rear from my deck, and shorten up the rca's going to my amps, also it pushes the pre outs to 4v. It has an adjustable 5-band parametric or 7-band graphic equalizer. What is the difference between the two types of equalization? What i would really like to know is does the Multeq feature work well. Any info will be help full below is a link. Thank you. PXA-H100 IMPRINT -

Well, in my post sundown 100.4 setup I go a little more in depth about the front stage. When I first saw the imprint. I didn't really know much about passive, or active crossovers. Two or three way front stage setups. By no way do feel like a zen master, but after some research I think I pretty much have a mental grasp of the concept. At the time this post was just to get an idea about imprint from the people who had heard it, or have had the experience of setting it up. Had I of known it was going to lead to such a drastic change I would have tried to have keep it in one discussion. -

Which is what makes it look so attractive to me. No offense, but if you are planning to use this with the system laid out in your sig.......I wouldn't bother. There are a multitude of other things to focus on improving upon first if improving the quality of the sound is your goal. That said; If you were planning on improving your system lay out and components at some point in the future then IMPRINT might be a worthwhile investment at that time. No offense taken, I totally agree. I was thinking of implementing the use of the imprint in my new setup. -
100.4 setup questions
alexj01_83 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I just purchased my sundown100.4 for my front stage. I will be running 6.5's in the kicks and two 3 inch full ways in each of my pillars. I will band-pass 3&4 , for example channels 3&4 will have the subsonic filter set at 150 hz, then I will set the Low pass frequency crossover at 4,500Hz for the 6.5's. Channels 1&2 would be set on High Pass and the High Pass Crossover set at 750Hz for my pillars. I will be running tweeters on channels 1&2 also, those will have a high pass crossover set a 5,000hz run in-line. The rest will be active. I was wondering can i use my o scope to set the dials on the 100.4 crossover, as they don't have any accurate markings on them, neither do they click. The amp also has a switch with 12dB and 24dB Octave, how will this affect my tuning. My goal is something that pleases me not necessarily sq. When i was looking for a passive crossover I found theseCrossover Tweeter Lamps ,has any one ever used them? Do they serve there purpose or should i stay away from them? This is my first time doing such a setup and any helpful comments or insights would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks. -

Hello I was wanting to use the 100.4 for my front stage. I was going to run 6.5 in the kicks and maybe a 3 or 4 inch in my front pillars. I was wondering can you bandpass, for example channel's 3&4 with the subsonic filter set at 150 hz then setting the Low pass frequency crossover at 4,500Hz for the 6.5. Then channels 1&2 would be set on High Pass and the High Pass Crossover set at 750Hz for my pillars. I will also be running tweeters I will be running those on channels 1&2 also. How could I Passively crossover these. I was thinking around around 7,000-8,000Hz any info would be helpful. Thanks

Quicktifier 210\420A

In a parallel circuit the total current is the sum of the currents through the individual components. that's why we run more than one battery in a high out put system so we have the extra current and storage capacity on hand. but the case with the alternator you buy one with a 250 amp stator but the bridge rectifier only is rated at 200. that's fine for a short duty cycle but long term it will heat up and lose efficiency heat some more and burn up. so you add to it lets say two more in "parallel" then the amp rating for you rectifiers is 600 amps and your locating it out side of the alternator case for reduced heat, and that is needed, especially in the small cased alt found in some of the smaller cars. when i upgraded from the 200 to my 350 amp stator i added the 410 box for the added rectifier capacity. its easy enough to build your own if you wanted to. When i was gone from home getting ready for deployment my batteries had a drain on them when i came home on pass i was able was able to charge all five from around 8 volts. i just went for a nice long drive, and my alt had no problems doing it. and my two sundown 3000d use a lot of current "daily" I'm tickled with the set up. my set up -

Engine Noise.
alexj01_83 replied to CrownVic's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'd put a dollar on a hundred its your rca's. I had a set of those and a bad case of alt noise. they look similar to the ones I had gotten from radio shack, they weren't shielded good enough. My first remedy was to get a set of in-line filters for my rca's. That worked well. Then i bought a better set, and it took care of the noise all together. -

Does the added functionality of it add to the overall complexity of using the 360.2??? I wish i knew of someone in fayetteville that was proficient in the setup of these things. -

Electrical help
alexj01_83 replied to CrownVic's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
are u running an extra battery ??? what kind/brand do you have up front ??? what size wire you running to the back??? Also i think the black with orange strip wire is you origanal power wire. un plug it and see if you get voltage with the switch off. you would put a ring terminal on those and run your bigger wire for the big three as that altornator has a stud post. then on the other plug you need to find out which wire is switched on the ignition. wiring cs144 put a resistor on the L wire with value between 35 and 500 ohms at 1/2 watt. -

i had a circuit breaker worked fine for a while but when it got hot under the hood, and i had the car at idle pounding it would trip too much, went with a fuse and was fine. -

Electrical help
alexj01_83 replied to CrownVic's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
My link The wires that u would usually upgrade are built into the harness.... u could put a gm alternator up there from looking at the pics... My link CS 144. 140 amps for 114 bucks ain't bad and the cases are large so the disipate heat really well and you have a post on the back so you can do the big three... you will need a harness for the regulator they sell those at autozone too .. the alternator usually comes with a wiring diagrame. they need a hot from your acc switch to cut it on and off or it will not charge, or drain your battery. Also that same alternator has the potiential to be hopped up to 200, 250, or 350 amps and it wont cost an arm and a leg. just an idea. its cheaper to go ahead and put a good one on now than to keep buying junk in the long run. -

I know I have a car audio addiction when......
alexj01_83 replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in General Audio
When you call home from iraq to make sure the voltage on your batteries is OK and the charger is still working.... When u pull up to car audio shops to shake the buildings not to buy anything.... When all you need is a dmm but you buy an o-scope and tell your wife you need it to fix school buses..... When your wife asks you before you get back home from a deployment to spend more time with her than the car.... When you sell your car because you cant put a big enough alternator in it...... When you have stuff shipped to your friends house so your wife doesn't see it .... When your friends ask how big your speaker is in your barracks room and you tell them its a 5 1/4 sub and they don't belive it cause they thinks its a ten inch... When you keep hitting edit cause you think of more stuff lol...... -
