    CUSTOMER FEEDBACK SECTION for SSA

I bought a saz-1000d and two 12" IA 187's. I bought the sundown and it came in 3 days so it had to be shipped as soon as the payment was received, the only thing is the amp has 3 x 30 amp fuses and the website says 3 x 25 amp fuse, so i wasnt really expecting that. i have to watch how much power i am drawing because they dont make larger alts for my car. I bought the 187's not to long ago and they arrived at my house in a week and a half... one week for build time so i couldnt be happier with the speed of service. A really great site and will probably order another sundown amp soon for comps

    187!!!!

They sound really good. They get nice and low and play some of the higher bass as well. It tappers off in the 70 to 80 hz range a bit. A lot of output from these subs. I cant even turn them up all the way because they hurt my hears. Im going to say 125 + db. My hair feels like it starts to vibrate. The only bad thing is they make my car rattle so much (my rear deck really hates me now) All in all i couldnt be happier with my new subs. They are even more than i expected. Really good product from IA

15" Death Row enclosure, in a Honda Fit hatchback

i think i would go up firing. I think it will sound a lot better without all the rattling... you can always get some sound deadener though and put it all over the hatch

    SAX-50.4 and Z15 Close-Out Sales

any news on what the new amp is going to be. If not i might pick up the 50.4. Has just the right amount of power to run some nice comps if you bridge the bridge the channels... it ok to bridge the front and rear channels right?

15" Death Row enclosure, in a Honda Fit hatchback

i was here way before you... ok like a couple months. Caraudioforums is running really slow. they seem to have a lot of server issues lately. I would love a HO alt for my car but they dont make them :[ I always worry about my car not being able to handle a decent system. I just hope it can handle comps too.

15" Death Row enclosure, in a Honda Fit hatchback

What a familiar thread ;] I have to do the big 3 for my cobalt. I get dimming when i really push my 187"s so im guessing around 400 to 500 rms a piece. I just cant leave it up that long because of rattles and because it hurts my damn ears so much

    187!!!!

ok review. They are great subs. I couldn't be happier with them. They hit really hard especially in the 30 to 60 hz range, but they seem to be lacking a bit in the 70 to 80. It could just be because i was used to my old subs which were in a sealed box way to small so they were more like midbass drivers. They seem very sturdy and well built, especially for them being 300 watts. They sound really tight even in a ported box and im very happy with that. ( my friend has some infinity kappas in a ported box and it sounds like shit. its all muddy) And as a last note i cant even turn them up all the way in my car because it physically hurts my ears, and it feels like my hair is vibrating, so they are pretty damn loud...and thats not a bad thing Oh and one bad thing about them...they really know how to bring the rattles out in a car lol.

    187!!!!

haha not a problem. I actually got the port cut down and put a curved piece in the corner of the port to help the air move better. Hopefully ill get this box done this weekend and have some pics of it in my car for you guys!! Prob no videos though all i got is the crappy one in my phone that sucks.

    187!!!!

in my post i said i still had to cut it down a bit. I just put it in to see how far it would be away from the subs.

    187!!!!

just a little update. Been very busy at work lately and have not been able to work on the box too much. Hopefully the weekend will give me a lot of time. I got the top and bottom cut to the correct size, and i marked on the bottom where all the pieces will go, sorta like a template. Have not taken any new pics sorry. Just a little side not too. If one of you IA guys read this my order has been awaiting shipment for over a week now. Just wondering when it will be shipped. Thank you

    187 Sub Box Help

i just got done designing my box with help from people here for 2 12" 187's and they told me to make the port 3 inches or wider. Yours just seems really skinny and would probably create a lot of unwanted noise.
  21. shadowslayer666

How do i track my order?

nice choice on the amp. It is a very well built amp, and never gets hot
  22. shadowslayer666

    187!!!!

i used the specs on the forum for the box size. The ones that they recommend, and the tuning. I think i would trust the one on the ssa store more. The incriminator website has the subs marked as 6 ohm, and ssa has it marked at 4, so that made me believe the store more so. But yeah i know what you are talking about when you have no idea which specs to use for the subs. Im glad i really didnt need the specs too much to make the box

    187!!!!

first day of box build has completed...or like an hour, it was about to rain. Got all of the wood roughly cut so i can make straight cuts on the table saw. more pics to come as the box actually takes some shape
  24. shadowslayer666

    187!!!!

there really isnt any electrical that has to be done. Im upgrading my subs, so amp and everything is already in. All i will really need is the wire from the subs to the terminal cups, and maybe some from the cups to the amp too, i think its 12 gauge now, that big enough for 300 watts? Is that what i should use inside the box too to the subs
  25. shadowslayer666

    187!!!!

i have the port facing backwards because i want it to go into the cabin of the car. The subs are going into a 08 cobalt. From what i have heard have the port going into the car is the best, but it can always be changed. Still have to get the wood for the box :[ just been so busy lately
