    another purchase from Flakko......

Flakko answered all questions and of course made me a SMOKIN deal on some Merlin amps....... I haven't owned US since 97' and I was happy then so expect i'll be happy now. I I would though like to ask for any reviews of the MD22 & MD2 amps or the others as well. Anyone actually looked at the ouput with a scope to determine, with adequite power supply to amp, where they start to clip at? Any info wold be nice I only found one thig on google . I don't frequent here as much as ECA and SD but I will now have to come here alot more often!.

    Stryke/AE Av12s Now Available!!!

Interested in 2 AV12's dual 2ohm, tried to call had to leave a message. Are they available? What the rms rating on the 12's and how big a box do they like both ported and sealed....I should say small a box...LOL. How about testing references..... You take Paypal and will you send them priority USPS mail ...... Thank you Michael Adams quote=skmfkr,Jun 20 2005, 10:19 PM] I just got this e-mail from john after over a year over not selling they are finally available Hello, You had requested to be put on the list to be notified once our AV woofers were in stock again. We finally have these available. Due to a mismatch at the plate shop you can now get AV woofers at a special price for a limited time. The T-yokes have a clear zinc plating and top plates have a yellow zing. This makes absolutely no difference for anything other than cosmetics. They still come with the same 3 yr warranty, parameters are identical, and they will function the same as with the matched plating. Frames are not black instead of the previous silver. The regular price for the AV12 is $175 with the current special price of $150. The regular price for the AV15 is $205 with the current special price of $180. We have only a limited supply of these at the special prices so they won't last long. Please contact us at 920-469-9198 or www.aespeakers.com to order. Click the store link in the main page. Our site is currently under construction but our online store is functional. If you have any questions on AV woofers, need cabinet plans, or need cabinets built, please don't hesitate to contact us. suggestions , switching from TDX 15" to RL-p

I went out and did some more looking and this is as big as I can make a box to fit with the sawzall and still use the spare Demensions are as follows 35-1/2" wide x 16" high x 11" top and 16" bottom , with the back angled and the front of the box facing the rear of the car flat. This is 3.59 cu ft. gross with 3/4" MDF . Can i port #2 , RL-p 12's in this size box ? I cant get it any bigger.

suggestions , switching from TDX 15" to RL-p

Yeah that would be great I can give you the dimensions, I think I can cut out the rounded part that goes through when the seat it down and get a bit more , how much do i need to port the 12's ? internal volume ? I figure if it's small ported they can handle more power and thus the second amp. I'm actually going to go with Zed Audio amps here real soon when the new bigger amps come out, a couple months I will go get the demensions of what I can do and see if this will help you. THX for the help ! Oh a TDX is in the same range as a XXX or a 13w7 . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OK here are the demensions, I'll try to make it understandable it's like a 2 piece box the front is wider and taller than the back but only 4" thick , the back is angled and the front is flat . So box from the back is 34"wide x 14-1/2" high , top is 6-3/4" , bottom is 12-1/2" (remember the back is angled like hatch back box and solid , flat) Now the fron section is open right now with these demensions . basically the front section is wider and higher but only 4" deep , here are the demensions 38" wide x 16-1/2" high , x 4" deep and all measuremnts are outside built with 3/4" MDF . It's like 2 boxes screwed together , then the inside piece of the front box cut out to match the opening of the rear of the box to make it all on chamber. This allowed me a little more room by going higher and wider in the front , granted it's only 4" deep but every little bit helps. So this is as big as it can be and I'm hoping I can get the 2-12's in there ported . I'm not real savy on the porting calculations or the volume of an abnormal box if someone could help me out . I wish I could draw a picture of it for a better understanding. If you have a ph. number I can call and try to explain it better. THX

  7. I have a Diamond TDX 15" , in a 2.65 cu ft. box, GROSS, so it's probly right near 2.25 after all dispacement. It's ran off a Memphis 1000D . Ported with 2, 3" round ports 14-1/2" long each. According to the Diamond Tech line this is at 34 hz. and it slams pretty good. BUT , it' still lacking to me! This is in an 04' Pontiac Grand Am trunk, there is more space but I need it for the kids things and my wifes. Also access to the spare tire for road trips etc. So I want to either switch to 2-10" Quality subs or 2-12" quality subs that will give the same SQ. but more output ! It does real good but is a little bit lacking in the bottom end (because of port size) . I couldn't get the recommended 4" port size in this box design, so these were the ports we worked out for this box. I like everything I've read about the RL-p subs and there performance , sealed or ported for me doesn't matter as long as it's loud and clean, I don't want to loose "ANY" ouput ! The twelves would be the preferred sub of course for cone area but I don't know if I can port them in this small an enclosure . I can squeeze out 3.0 ft. internal volume I think but that's MAX for the trunk space I can use. SO all suggestions much appreciated ! I can add another 1000D to the other sub also if needed and have also considered 3-10" subs sealed also ? Just don't want to buy the stuff and find out I'm NO better off then I was with the single 15. ALL help appreciated!!!
