Audio Wrap vs Second Skin vs Fatmat vs Sound Deadener Showdown vs Edea
wutang512 replied to Cthedinger's topic in Product Reviews
well.. we already know fatmat sucks -
I dont know how old you are but when I was in highschool my cousin had a system way before me. 2 15 inch kickers in his nissan maxima.... anyways his dumb ass was always stuntin and driving his friends around town blasting his music then next thing you know somebody during school hrs broke into his car and jacked his deck and his system in one swoop. Better watch your back man, cause I know somebody out there is probably watching you waiting for you to slip up. Cause you dumb enough to showboat around

I would personally Check out Shure Headphones amazing Studio quality headphones. The bose headphones are good too as well I just heard they were on the bass heavy side a lil bit. As far as Digital Design headphones never heard anybody buying them except directly from them. I think your gonna have to email DD to get a price.

I say yes when I bought my sound deadner from Don he went above and behind with what I should and Walked me through it as much as possible. And his deadner is Quality leaps and bounds ahead of the bullshit ass Rattle Trap extreme I had in my car.

Alpine 9887
wutang512 replied to DSmith07's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Dont mess with dealercost audio ive read too many bad reviews from them. All the other companies I would call up if they have a number and see if its in stock. I kinda feel bad for anyone that didnt get in on that deal that 6th avenue electronics had going on. I got mine from them for $217 brand new. Dont even bother trying them they sold out the week after I bought mine -
Is 4 awg big enough for big 3?..
wutang512 replied to Jd377's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Do it right the first time so you wont have to do it again. Yes go zero gauge -
I used to think just like you for the 1st couple weeks I had my 12in BL. One day I was in the parking lot and I noticed that when I stepped outside my bass wasnt as loud on the outside but when I put my head on the inside I could feel the vibrations from the sub hitting so hard. Honestly that trunk rattling shit is very tacky and makes it seem like your driving a POS. Like guy said above more people are impressed with the bass on the inside then the outside.
-
I take that back after listening to that 36 mafia late night tip video it sound like the sub is bottoming out.

Get a video of young jeezy's Hypnotize. Then I'd be able to tell you if something is not right.

Alpine Head Units
wutang512 replied to BanginGMC's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If you can I would find a 9887 AT one point they were going for $217 on 6th avenue electronics -
will a hifonics BRZ 2400 watt rms be too much for the 18" BTL
wutang512 replied to anthonyvo17's topic in General Fi
Depends on if ur putting any upgrades on it and it also depends if you know what the hell your doing. This is a prime example of why BTL's dont have warranties. If you dont know what your doing man your gonna blow it. -
10". If there were 8's I'd have bought twins. I heard the UPS truck and went running for the door. That's Sassy. I've never seen a cat put up with a child like she does. Lets our dauthter lay on her, pull her fur, etc. I can't wait until I get it all tuned right and it gets fully broken in. Yeah i know what you mean man. The ups man didnt even get to my door before i stopped him. Showed him my ID, signed and took the box from him.

And another thing the quality of the rattle trap extreme next to reputable brands like second skin and SDS is horrible. You could stretch and pull apart the rattle trap extreme. While the other 2 the foil backing is so strong its hard almost like thin sheet metal. I dont know how to explain it. Its just on another level
-
What is that a 8 or a 10?

What i did was I put plexi glass over the huge holes in my doors and then I put some deadener over the plexiglass. Worked great for me. You can go to home depot or lowes and have them cut the plexi glass for you.

Dont do it i have personal experience with rattle trap extreme. The first week I had it in my doors it started peeling and stuck to my windows. So i had to take off the Plastic panels and pulll the stuff from my windows. Later on during that summer before i started putting my car back together it started peeling in my quarter panels. I had to get some gorilla glue and stick it back on to the meta. 2yrs later my girlfriend got a stain on her leg from my door. I did some investigation and found that it was so hot that the deadner in my doors was melting through the drain holes at the bottom of my door. Do NOT I repeat Do Not buy rattle trap extreme. I emailed customer service and it took them a week to respond they asked for pictures I emailed them that day and they said that they couldnt see the pictures. I emailed them in a different picture format and they never responded. Do NOT buy from these people. Save your money and buy from either Second Skin or sound deadener showdown. I ordered from Don he took care of me really well. Gave me all the info I needed and helped me greatly. You dont wanna end up like me spending hrs cleaning up the mess this stuff leaves on your doors. And once again Fuck FAT MAT and RATTLE TRAP EXTREME.

Time Alignment and Bandpass when going Active
wutang512 replied to wutang512's topic in General Audio
Just got back from San antonio after work to finish this install the 100.4D came in from UPS yesterday. Got damn this amp is huge. Its bigger than my alpine mrp-1000. I was trying to figure out how im going to mount it behind my seats. Other than that Ill let yall know in the morning how everything goes as far as tuning. -
its not to bad here. Sometimes though it does take while to get a response when you start up a thread. But from being here ive been getting some of the best knowledge i could get about car audio.
-
you could go with daber audio.... Ive heard pretty good things about them
-
I bought my 8k from retro solutions about 2yrs ago. They still looks as bright as they did the first time i put them in
-
Go with the BL's they sound great and get loud really loud. Most people that get the Q get it cause the first thing they read about is sound quality, then they realize their Q isnt as loud as they thought it would be. Just go with the BL you wont regret it. I know I didnt
-
I wouldnt do it. I had a roommate that went cheap on his screen and within in a couple of months features just randomly stopped working. Couldnt play cds then dvds then the screen would randomly turn off. he could only play music through the memory stick card insert. Then finally the screen broke and he had to get a deck instead. A wasted $200

Great review im waiting for mine to get here from db-r next week

Ill have the speakers in the doors and the tweeters as well. Whats the most accurate way to measure time alignment cm or inches? And how would I go about doing it?
