Dance floors are pretty easy. I used the existing seat brackets to secure my dance floor to the car. Then built up from there. Others do it different though, but I found this way to be easy. Port location...... I'm not too knowledgeable on this stuff except for systems I've heard in person. I like the port in the center, firing between the front seats.

I usually just drill a hole for a speaker wire to fit through with a little effort. then seal it on the inside with caulk. Makes life a little simpler. And a jasper jig is the way to go, with a plunge router. I'm too cheap to buy them though, so I take my time and use an orbital jig. Holes comes out pretty darn good. Definitely not for the impatient though.

Not sure about Sundown, but most companies I've looked at want you to prove yourself before they'll consider you. This means hitting every show possible (and some that aren't) and getting your name out there. Getting sponsored can take quite a bit of work. Got to show them what you can do. Of course, once you get that first sponsorship, with any company, it's pretty much easy after that..

SSA going to help out Realmofexcursion.com
TechSys replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in News, Announcements, and Lobby
Honestly, this could be a good thing for both sites. Some things over there really need to be cleaned up and Shon just can't do it with his schedule. Just take it day by day and see what happens. I see good things from it. Especially the part of SSA helping Shon out. Just don't get too much of that type of thing anymore. My hats off to SSA. -
Wish I had the money, I'd buy all that's left of the 1500d amps, since I really need all 4. Just bought another astro though, so things are very tight.

Soundstream Amps
TechSys replied to Mathman's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Amps will need 16volts for full potential. They draw quite a bit of amps so a large alt will definately be needed. We had an astro at yesterdays show. During the second run, the van shut down. The amp was at .5ohm (if I remember right) and running on a 12volt electrical system with 10 batteries backing it up. Amp went into protect due to not having enough juice to keep it powered. Thought the amp was fried at first, thank god it wasn't. -
SoundStream wont Sponsor Local Competition.
TechSys replied to Lord Baccus's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Yup, gotta be able to do a broader range of shows, and be able to attend a certain amount of shows during a given time. I've pretty much lost my sponsorship with them since the van has been down more than I anticipated. I'm with you on getting rid of everything with SoundStream on it. I've got a sub being repaired by them right now, and have 6 or 7 more months before I can sell the equipment (can't sell anything within a year of beginning the sponsorship). Once the year is up, I'm done with soundstream. My sub setup -

Now I know I gotta be there. then I can hear the Fis first hand. Let me know the date -
Hey Scott, it's Dennis. I have been in E-mail chats with Scott since last weekend. Very fast with replies and very good customer support. Because of the customer support, I will definately be ordering some 15" BTL subs. 4 to be exact, for street max 3-4. Anyways, glad to see Fi here, now I know where to go besides e-mail.

Good thing you didn't ignore it like some people would. We had a client at work get bitten by a Brown recluse on the right side of her face. It swelled up about the size of a golf ball and the S.A.T's still would not take her to the hospital. When I saw it, I took her to the CEO of the ocmpany and got the problem solved quickly. Doctor said she was close to losing her eyesight. Another day and it would have been gone. She got lucky as hell. Those S.A.Ts are not working for the company any more wither. S.A.T. = Substance Abuse Technician

5 words for ya... Harbor Freight is your friend. They usually have very cheap tools. Right now they have a 1HP variable speed plunge router for $39.99. The quality on the tools are really not that great, but they work. I bought a grinder (made by the same company) for $10 to do my window motors, it has paid for itself x3.

Router circle cutting jig on the cheap Could also use a roto-zip

Just looked for a h.o. alt for your car... nothing for the 95 I did find a couple for 93 and 94... 2.4L engines. Not sure if there is a differance that would make those not work though. Iraggi's 200amp for $269.00 Iraggi's 180amp for $249.00 Both put out 90amps at idle. Of course you could contact Iraggi for more info. For some reason this post sounded like an advertisement.. It wasn't meant to be.

Discussion about capacitors, and charging systems
TechSys replied to ANeonRider's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
I would never put a cap in a system. I wouldn't even let my worse enemy install one.. That's just me though.... I have to post this image -
Whats THe Best Dampening Sound Suppressor???
TechSys replied to KeeEnterprises's topic in Advanced Discussion
I had a problem with fatmat, ebay, and Paypal. I ordered some, about a year ago, and have never received it. Fatmat emaile dme saying that Paypal froze their account. I contacted Paypal, they told me that wasn't true, however, they are flagged for a fraudlegent (sp) account.. just not frozen. I will never buy from fatmat, or use paypal again. I tried to get my money back and couldn't. I wasted about 2 months trying to get things straightened out, and didn't, so I just left it like it was. Now I use Peal-N-Seal or Grace Select Ice and Water shield. -
Amp Ratings by fuses
TechSys replied to AcIdBuRn83355's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
2 x 20 amps = 40 amps 40 amps x 12volts = 480 That'll get you a ballpark figure. I think there is a percentage you can extract from that figure to get a closer answer. I "really" need to get back to studying, I am forgetting quite a few things lately. -
I Need $250, Stuff For Sale (games and some audio)
TechSys replied to CBFryman's topic in Photography
Can't guarentee anything but I may be interested in the AW10's and enclosure. All depends on how much I got left after paying my bills today. Figured I'd edit instead of posting new.. well, I can't get them. After paying car insurance, rent, phone bill, cellhpne bill, and giving my girlfriend her allowance, as well as my god kids... I have $50 left until next payday. God I need another job. sorry.. I have forgotten about the insurance and cellphone bills. If it wasn't for them I would have gotten the subs -
Where do you guys mount your alarms?
TechSys replied to Shyne151's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I try to put the brainbox anywhere but under the dash. I've hidden them under the seat (mostly back seat since they bolt down) and in the center consoles. All the wiring is pretty much hidden with split loom tubing. -
There are going to be pukes, no matter the type of car, hobby, house, yard, and dog. Everything is the same, somebody has to bash somebody due to something. Just saw of bunch of this bashing on beretta.net. It's useless to try to reason with somebody that thinks they, and what they own, are all that.. Those who thinks they know everything piss off those of us who do. Just thought I'd throw that in here... I also vote with close topic. This forum is laid back and don't need that type of enviroment invading it.

How To: Set your Amplifier Gain
TechSys replied to ANeonRider's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Real nice.. This answers one of the most asked questions I get. Good Job ANeonRider -
My 1500 died also, a few weeks ago though. If you find the schematics for the amp, send a copy this way (if they are free that is). Mine will turn on but has no output. I took the bottom off, found a fried resistor, transistor, and melted/lifted pcb trace (lifted off the board). kbaudio quoted me $100 plus shipping to repair it. That was 2 or 3 weeks ago. Haven't had the money to send it thanks to other bills. I figured aprox $120 to fix and ship would be worth it.

Motor City Reman Not sure if these will do you any justice being they only go to 200amp. I bought a 180amp from him 6 months ago and haven't had any problems.
