    4th order build continued (M5)

The credibility question establishes your qualifications on this, and just about all other car audio related topics. You should come up with reasons why you are someone to listen to on this topic. Why do you have special knowledge or understanding of this topic? What can the audience learn from you that they couldn't learn from someone else? Credibility can refer to your extensive research on this topic, your life-long interest in this issue, your personal experience with car audio, or your desire to better the lives of forum members by sifting through the topic and providing the crucial information. Once you establish your credibility, members more likely to listen to you as something of an expert and to consider what you say to be realistic and the right way.

    4th order build continued (M5)

O.k. It was pretty much implied, by M5 that if a discussion of the design wants to continue, that is fine. Nothing against SSA or Florida with this, but the only people that should be involved in this topic would be the owner of the system, the designer and builder of the system, M5, and possibly Skar Audio owner. No one else, including me, should be doing anything but reading the topic. This should keep all the emotions out of it and hopefully something may come out of the discussion that everybody can use in the future. This should also eliminate e-sucker punches. I want to see an actual discussion/debate on the topic, not the crap that the other topic(s) ended up having. Can that be done?

Damn man, put a body on that buggy, fill it with stereo, and call it a bass racer. lol

Wow, nice build. However, you should have predrilled holes on a couple of pieces of wood. They split and will cause you some problems with SQ. Just ask, I'm sure somebody here will tell you that exact same thing. Keep up the work. Hope to see videos soon as well as seeing/hearing it in reality (since I hate theories)
  6. Oh hell yea. Finally, and spoken like a true man. You've admitted quite a bit. You've put people that disagreed in their proper places. You've told everybody how you feel and how you like YOUR system. That is top notch in my book. You have pulled the plug from the matrix and became your own free thinker. If anybody doesn't like that and decide to treat you like your opinion doesn't count, well, to hell with them. Stand up and take a bow. You deserve it. When you get done with that, get out there and try to make that van louder, using your unconventional methods (I had to rotflmmfao on that one). Keep doing what you're doing and don't worry about what others say. It's YOUR system and YOU can do with it what YOU want to as long as YOU are happy with it.
  7. Just because his builds are unconventional and he uses the wrong equipment makes him the laughing stock? At least he has the guts to try doing something different. A lot of car audio is thinking outside the box, which is what he is doing. He may not be doing it your way or my way but should we condemn him for that, no. Over the years people have tried new things with car audio. Some worked, some didn't. Some that worked people didn't think they would. Ideas and imagination within the car audio world is a great thing to have. Look at what was said about using walls, before it became a common thing. Same thing with 4th orders, or 6th orders, or even ported for that matter (most of y'all would go back far enough to remember when ported enclosures in vehicles became "cool"). There are lots of tried and true builds out there, but most of them copy somebody, somewhere. Krypton is doing his own thing, reporting his results, and doing the best he can with what he has. You can't condemn a man for doing that.

    rival904s walkthrough build.

I would say bring it over here, but with your truck all cut up, it ain't ready to be road driven. I guess just cut it up. Take some frustration out on it. Or give it to Brant

    rival904s walkthrough build.

You ain't gonna quit. If it isn't louder, then we'll figure out why. I refuse to take knowledge of quitters in Jacksonville. hehehe. We can always build another 4th for the new subs. Or I could give it back, even though my old box is probably gone by now.

    rival904s walkthrough build.

I had to sign a nondisclosure form when I picked up his old enclosure. I know pretty much of what is and what is not going in this build. You could shoot me up with truth serum and I won't tell though. hmmm, maybe I could use that to make some money, hehe. It should be louder than the last build.
  11. I didn't see his build. Must have missed it somewhere in all the forums I visit.

    2001 Chevy Astro....Custom Install!

That's a small box. Just kidding. It wouldn't fit in my van, being I got a shorty Astro.
  13. galacticmonkey has a build? Where? Kryptonitewhite: Don't worry what others say. It's a learning experience for you, and you only. You are doing good by giving your results on the forum. If aybody don't like that, well, you've already said it. And yes, the Astro is much lighter than an Express, or whatever. But it can do just as much, or more. hehe. Keep up the good work man.

And you down me for not getting my van sealed? All you've done is place your amps on the carpet? Jeez man, get to work.

Look what DC Power sent me

Good videos. Strong alternator. But I have one thing to say. That stealth install you have, of the headunit, is great.

    rival904s walkthrough build.

The cutting was easy. The removal of his old enclosure was a PAIN! Got any more updates Rival? You know I'm only a hop, skip, and jump away so yell if you need.

    230 amp alternator sale

Hmm, interesting. Are you going to offer anything higher than 230amp? What about older GM/Chevy vehicles ('89 Astro). Will you also have single wire alternator or you just going to do direct drop-ins? I currently have a 200amp alternator and a 300amp alternator. The 300amp needs rebuilt, can you do that? With internal/external variable regulator? I think that's about it for my questions, for now. Thanks for offering this type of service. Something that is much needed.

    hey fellow bass enthusiasts

Wow bassndad, you're starting to get around. Seen you over on the astro forum. Can't wait for your build to get started.
  19. Where did the weekend go? This is one of the things I have been dealing with lately. Feels like I go to sleep Friday night and wake up Monday morning for work. Sucks to be on the go all the time.

Soundstream XXX re-cone or just a new surround?

$65 for a recone from PSI isn't bad. Wonder how much the specs would change, if any. Little bit off topic. Scion, you would have, or know where to get, a basket for an SPLX, would you? One of mine is broke in 3 places. I dropped the sub 10 minutes after getting it. It's been JB welded for 3 years now, but I've decided to go ahead and try getting a new basket and cone. Now back on topic.... IA parts on the xxx would probably be a beast.

Soundstream XXX re-cone or just a new surround?

Yea, 1.2ohm per coil is correct. Same as my splx-154 subs, even though SS says 1ohm per coil.

    VIDEO 4 18's 50 cubic feet 20" diameter port 23Hz tune 14,000

For some reason I thought you put the subs closer to the B pillars. How do the overhead speakers sound, can't really tell in the videos. Looks like the van is virtually dead as I didn't see anything flexing outside. I might have missed it though. Wish I could get to hear it, but... too far away. Looks crazy though. I like the headliner idea. Might have to steal that idea from you.
