Enclosure for a Q or BL

Sorry for the two threads, I originally thought I had posted in the Gen FI forum but realized today when I couldn't find my thread in here that I accidentally posted it in the SPL / SQ board which the more I looked at was more for crazy design stuff it seemed as opposed to just a regular box. The 45's I'm talking about is how you have the vertical 90 along the edge from top to bottom, you angle cut a piece to fit in there from top to bottom that forms a 45 degree angle. You also have a 90 along the horizontal edge from left to right. You angle cut a piece to fit in there from left to right that forms a 45 degree angle. Now in the corner where the side and top and bottom all come together, if you have pieces cut to make 45's along the edge, they won't be flush in the corners where everything meets. Does that explain it or should I bust out the MS Paint lol

Enclosure for a Q or BL

I'm thinking of going with a 15" Q for these, powered by a Sundown SAZ-1000D So I've been messing with the RE calculator and think I have come up with a couple of designs. I just want to make sure all the numbers are right on these and see some opinions on which one is better. I like the first one more, sub up port back, does that design output well? How do you make the horizontal and vertical 45's come together smoothly? Also, would the first box fit a 15" BL? I know the second one doesn't have the airspace for a BL which is another reason I like the first one. In case by the time I order I decide to go with a BL (I'm very indecisive) This is going in a hatchback (2003 Hyundai Tiburon)

    Thinking of getting some Q's

Ok, I have decided to only buy one sub, a FI Q 15, and a better amp, SAZ-1000D and go ported. Now my only dilemma is I still can't figure out the ported box calculator, so can someone help me out with a design?

    What would you suggest then?

    Thinking of getting some Q's

My tib came with the infinity system, it has 6 and 3/4 components in the front and 6 x 9's in the rear. I've had people tell me that my mids and highs sound good for stock compared to a lot of what they've heard. I like Doctor Q's idea, just having to change the box, gonna have to throw that one around tomorrow while I'm not paying attention in class lol

    Thinking of getting some Q's

Is that two 12's ported or a single 15 ported? or is that all sealed?

    Thinking of getting some Q's

lol, I kinda figured that was coming, I don't know if I have room for a ported 15 that's why I was kinda hoping for preliminary dimensions of some sort. I looked at some stuff and by saving the money from only getting one sub I could get an SAZ-1000D (from what I've read this seems like a better made amp then the AQ1200D?) and still have a little extra money. With only a 1000W I shouldn't have to do any electrical upgrades right? Just a run of 1/0 to the AMP and 8 Gauge from amp to Sub?

    Thinking of getting some Q's

Do you know of any diagrams for a ported box for a 12 and 15 Q? Sealed is easy to think up, but I have no idea on how to design a ported box, I keep trying to mess with the calculator on RE but I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to ported. edit: Don't know if it was clear, diagram for a single 12 Q and a diagram for a single 15 Q.

    Thinking of getting some Q's

I don't understand the slants your talking about?? I was thinking two 12" Q's that need .8-1.5 per sub, so a 15x15x15 Cube for each sub that gets 1.26 cubes after displacement for each sub. But having the boxes connected by the top and bottom piece running the full 36" across my trunk so theres not just like two boxes setting in my trunk. should leave between 6" in the middle that I would just put a board to cover up. Should I fill that spot with foam before I cover it up? Could I have the subs pointed up so then the 36" board would be running across the front and back instead of top and bottom? Would it sound better with the subs faced up towards the glass instead of straight into the back of the hatch?

    Thinking of getting some Q's

Would there be a noticeable difference between two 12's and a 15? I think I'd have room for two 15's sealed but probably not ported however I have heard sealed sounds more accurate and its easier to build so I think I'll go with sealed so that cuts out the BL. Is the AQ2200D a good match for two Q's? I know, I was worried about two 12's being too loud and now I'm saying two 15's. I guess I really don't care how loud it is, I just don't have the room for BL's is my problem. Its very hard for me to make decisions like this, it is quite annoying. edit: What kind of electrical upgrades am I looking at for 2200RMS, could I get away with Big 3 and a Yellowtop up front and not have to have any crazy alt's or a batteries in the back?

    Thinking of getting some Q's

So I've been doing a lot of reading and looking around and now I'm kind of geared towards one or two Fi Q 12"s. If I go with two I was looking at the Audioque 2200D, but I haven't really looked for an amp if I only go with one, so I'm kind of set on two but I'm worried about it being too loud. What kind of electrical upgrades would I have to do for two of them? Now I was thinking of building my box, I'm debating between ported or sealed, haven't really decided which one I want to go with yet. My max trunk space is 36" wide, 15" high. I can go kind of deep, can't remember the exact measurement right now but how deep would I have to go for a box with that width and height? Does this seem good for a hatchback (2003 Hyundai Tiburon)? That's why I'm mainly worried about two 12's being too loud. should I go with two 10" subs? I mainly listen to rock and some rap, should I go with a ported or sealed box? I have a Pioneer DEH-P4900iB head unit. Well, I just went and took pictures and measurements of the box space and everything so you guys can see what I'm talking about Hopefully that
