Optical Cable in Car Audio
Optimus_Prime replied to Sencheezy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
To put it simple, Im sure every serious car audio enthusiast has a so called OCD. And in response there will be way too many unnecessary tech and warranty issues. -
I see you Sencheeezy!

Colud be, but Mayweather will dominate. And if Pacman will stop stalling he would find out why.

To be honest with you, keep it the way ti is. The more shit involved the more to go wrong. -

You would have to be very careful from manufacturer to consumer first of all, then it would have to be run through some kind of conduit to make sure. and then and then and then, just too damn delicate. -

Optical to the amp from the knob still a way off meaning average user would fold or break it, although Bluetooth could be more of a reality, the only thing is interference and lag., -
Looking into getting some new batts soon, Should I get 2 XP 3000's or 2 D3100's.

Mechman May Savings Offer!!!!
Optimus_Prime replied to MECHMAN's topic in Mechman High Output Alternators
Just in time, Im going to order in the middle of the month, Thanks. -
Stingers going out isnt uncommon. Ive heard a lot of people talking about Dakota Digital Voltage gauges. Theyre more expensive, but Ive read time and time again that theyre more reliable. Im most likely going to pick one up. I really want a T2.5kbdCp.. theyre just soo damn expensive lol Thanks for the info I will Check into that, and ya the 2500bdcp is expensive, and is a great amp, very underrated and small footprint.
-
Ooh yes, it certainly is progress! How bad is the drop? Not sure, my stinger volt meter is not working, but its louder than my fosgate 2500bdcp which would take it down to 12.5 to 13v so id guess im dipping near 11v.

Thanks, its progress, I really need to beef up my voltage.

Go back to page 20 i have uploaded my current enclosure specs., and dc recommends 1.5 per sub ported and i dont really want to build a new box until Rusty drops the t/s for em.
-
More port area and more box volume = more efficient. So yes you will lose output and "move less air". How much of a difference would really just depend on how much of a change you are talking about. On the flip side having them in too big of a box will reduce power handling and will cause you to reach the drivers limits more quickly. I was thinking of downsizing the chamber a little bit, and keeping the port big as possible.

Car Show Beat Down (4) Skar vvx15's on a Sk4500.1

Congrats!, Looks nice n loud. -
Been thinking lately, especially since the new subs and amp are being used in the old enclosure, a new enclosure is in need. Although in my situation the new subs require smaller airspace, and would be a good thing, will using less port area from what i have now affect output, both audibly and the so called quest to a hairtrick, can floater etc. My goal is to get to be a low note monster for daily.

Messed around with the new setup a bit today, took some video, but my new phone camera sucks, and does not pick up flex at all really. But from what I saw, felt and heard it is deff louder than the previous setup which was expected. What I can tell you so far is that the subs sound really smooth and dig down low with authority and ease, I did get them a lil stinky but no harm done. Hopefully soon i will have more wire runs and batts, as well as a 300 amp alt. For now I am happy with it and it will deff come alive when I beef up the electrical. Oh ya and was really surprised after messing with it for a while the amp was cool to the touch.

Never actually metered any of them, never built any of my setups for numbers, but my best guess is that they ranged from 45-48.
-
Need some opinions and input about my current enclosure, seems as if this design has been maxed out as far as using 5krms+ and specs recommended from DC for the M2's any and all help would be greatly appreciated, From what I can gather seems to be a bit over sized for the power i am using.
-
Thanks man, Now i need a new box built, Im pretty sure i have hit the limit of its designed purpose.

In all honesty, just a suggestion, I use some old zune earbuds that sample music great from my pc, example: gucci "I cook" sounds pretty much dead on with the lows on em and in the car, Im amazed at how such a tiny speaker in my ear can reproduce music.
