Been also considering a singer alternator, he can only do a 225 amp for under 400 with lifetime warranty.
-
Going to put them in same enclosure and finish sealing off the trunk, and finalize the install and see how that goes.

Have some new subs coming, so I will be selling the Z v.2's if anyone is Interested, pm me 500.00 shipped for the pair!
-
For me all windows down gets loud as hell and rolling up rear driver side with rest down makes the lows insane.
-
Does or can anyone help me figure out what kind of space is needed to run 2 12" Z V.2 subs in a 4th order in the trunk.

Need some info about 4th order!

Sorry about that and yes i meant 4th order bandpass. The last one i was working on sounded great and was sinificantly louder to the ear and, to tell you the truth I just want to see what could be achieved with it.. Want to try and get 150 with 2 12's. -

Thanks much for the info, going to have get specs from Jacob, and probably get my subs re-coned. That formula would put it around 6 cubes and just might be able to pull it off, like you said i just need to find someone who can design it. -
You should be ok, as I understand the V .2 motors posses more motor force, and until pushed till their limits wont matter, and if it is so, higher motor force can affect bottom octave, but increase output elsewhere. Which suggests the new design has similar power handling and is targeting an sq crowd with goals in comps.

Sure why not, but what from I have observed the excursion is not the sexzies,t but im sure the surroundings will do it justice!

how did you have "too much" port??? why was this badd??? just curious... Well down low the Xcons were fine but when they played higher they did not like that at all, could hear a bottoming out kind of noise, and that was not gonna work for me, were gettin hot "stinky smells". I was lead to believe by un-named source that I was overdriving the amp or and enclosure design was not fit, and no matter what sub i chose would yield the same problem. But all I can say is they were wrong and the crossbreed SA "Z" subs are more than up to the task and to my surprise keep their composure with clipping, have not smelled them once. In closing I am only giving my experience with each sub, between the two with my given variables the Xcon seemed to maintain sq and authority while dipping low throughout any volume and had cooling issues and produced a distressed noise and smell which was the reason I chose to give them the boot. To sum this up these subs are not in the same class, "Xcon"= Loud with great SQ, and Sundown "Z" = Extremely loud SQ!

System for my Hyundai - Sundown,JL Audio, Crescendo, Audiocontrol, DEI
Optimus_Prime replied to edouble101's topic in Build Logs
Fabrication takes time especially when you are learning as you go Enclosure size will be between 3.5-4.0 ft^3 with lots of port area tuned @30hz. I ordered the copper coils. Which did you get? Sweet, I went with copper also, I love copper coil subs! -

Those sails came out nice, wish i had some fabrication skills in the car audio arena. I just get frustrated easily with it. Can't wait to see the subs in action, they are absolute monsters, what size box you going to put them in. -
All i got is a pic for now Did you get yours yet!
-
Did some more beating on them today and the harder i beat em the better they get! Had another cars rearview shaking and there is deff more flex in all areas of my car.!
-
Awesome! First impression? Ill start by saying the subs deff handle the power better and there is an increase in output across the board. looking good man... also was the terminator recording your videos for you????? o_O LOL took me a sec to figure out what you were talking about!

Enclosure is 4.0 @ 32hz 66sq in port, fosgate 2500bdcp@ 1ohm, and as far as liking them more than the xcons I have to say in all honesty yes, but I believe I had too much port for the Xcons, still going to experiment with the port in the near future.
