i guess life is a compramise most of the time? if you marry a girl with a skinny @ss, you aint gonna get no 'junk in the trunk'! the rl-p mounted I.B. is 'insanely accurate' retains its ability to play 'really low' with 'demonic authority' has the best speed 'transient response?' i have ever heard in one of my cars, and gets 'plenty loud'. i have heard it do a couple of things i wasnt sure about, this may be due to the fact that the seat is moveing slightly at higher volumes-lower notes,or the leaking air possibility,or maybe because i have the amp mounted so close it might be shakeing a bit...alot, and effecting somthing? and im sure i f i wanted to i could do some investigateing and find out,but as i said before im 41 this year, my days of listening to 100 and ? db are over, i value my hearing. this sub mounting configuration have everthing i want, astonishing sq, evil lows, scary speed, and plenty of volume. i live in california and most of my driving is done with the windows open, even at 70mph the bass is 'in your face'.... and your kidneys............

It should yield almost identical response as the IB setup. THe thing is, you need to completely seal the front from the rear same as in IB setup, so you might as well just stick with that. To the original poster, if you think it sounds good now, you should try separating the front and rear waves 100%. You'll be even more pleased. Isn't it wonderful to have such a versatile driver? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i think the front and rear waves are completely seperated, the trunk is seald well from the rest of the car? and i installed the driver so it fires all its out-put straight into car cabin! i guess there is probably some leakage around the shelf and sides of the seats, but the reason i decided to try this in the first place is that the car is well made, and the seperation between the trunk and the cabin is good.im in n california, and if anyone wants to hear it id be glad to meet somewhere!

thats a good image i will never forget, going to see the wolves smelling of blood and meat, but nothing for them! ( a good way to get your ass eaten....eeerrr i mean ) psycho you should write a book! i did give an idea of how it sounded after a mere 20 minute drive--"sumptuous" now ive had a few more moments in the car i can safely say things are better than i first imagined. let me say this for now.....imagine haveing an rl-p 12 immediately behind you, not more than 2.5 feet from the front of the woofer to the back of your head! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy!

i got mine in a bp right now www.decware.com the deathbox -12 inch veresion, sounds killer at medium to higher volume levels, but im gettin old and im leaning towards lower listenig volumes with unsurpassed sq! the bandpass is accurate but i need an enclosure that is not! i need my enclosure to emphasise the real low end 20-30 hz? a bit,i hate tone controlls and boost of any kind.wanna leave the electronics 'flat' and have the enclosure cheat the lows a bit.............but for higher volume levels with an rl-p 12 i reccomend the deathbox highly..........

what is a step up fro a p.g. xennon 600?
60ndown posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
thinking about a bit more juice for my rl-p currently useinga p.g.xennon 600wrms-very nice. got a dual 4 ohm rl-p so amp has to give plenty (1000 wrms at least) @ 2 ohms, and be excellent sq. anyone know what amp i need? link? -
i've only had about 2 hours listening and i imagine like almost everything else audio,it will change slightly as it 'breaks in' but my first impressions of it are, 60hz and above-'very subtle'.......... 60hz and below-'demonic authority', 65 mph 1 hour each way ,windows open, wife in the car (so REAL volume was not an option) but the detail in the real low end realms was extrodinary?(these are the frequencies that i have always found impossible to hear in a moveing car as road noise and wind and the like kindof negate any output in this range (20-40hz) from any driver i have ever previously owned, the rl-p must move so much air,or something? it over-rides,over powers the other non musical noise? i could hear and feel the real low end notes/sounds easily!-and i mean low.and easy ) cant wait to have the car to myself for a drive and crank that puppy as i was driving and listening i was thinking perhaps sq is not the right word for this sub.........the right word might be AUDIOPHILE. ill post more over the next few weeks to update my impressions but if today is where its going im a very very satisfied customer. thanks squeak for pointing me in this direction, and mike if customer reccomendations are worth anything it was squeak that is responsible for me purchaseing the rl-p 12 !

ah!, well i think (but im not sure ,how do i tell) that i have the dual 4 ohm, which means i need an amp that does 1000 wrms plus @ 2 ohms.........any idea? im useing a phoenix gold xennon right now 600wrms sq is real good and i wouldnt want a less sq amp for more power? so whats a great sq amp with 1000 wrms @ 2 ohms?
