Do i have the power?
Sir-Lancelot replied to Toonsketcher's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have the Optimas and they are nice, but they do not have big AH numbers so you would need a bunch of them. Look at Deka or XS Power and get one big one. If I had it to do over again that is what I would do. Want to buy 4 Optima batteries? lol, but no seriously? how much do u want for the batteries? and where do u live cuz i dont want to travel 1/2 way across the US haha. and the 454.4 AH was way off cuz that video had wrong calculations. its much closer to 31.42 AH or somthing like that I am in SC you in MI. I doubt it would be a good deal for you. I will check on shipping and PM you what I can do. Which are you looking for? I have yellow and red. -
Looks great MBarber.

better pay close attention to what they do at idle. You could end up with less than stock if you are not careful. -
Gounding amps
Sir-Lancelot replied to audioman21's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Best to keep the run as close to the amp as possible, but It does not seem to bother his set up tho, so go figure. I have mine grounded to the batteries in back that are about a foot/foot-1/2 away from the amps and the rear batteries are grounded to the frame below. The frame is probably another foot foot-1/2 to the amp. -
The problem with low voltage is that it damages your amp. Yes it will still play and amplify a signal, but that one time 1,000 watt amp may only be putting out 750 watts after seeing low voltage situations and it will keep getting worse until one day it gives up. A battery rests at 12.4, it would be advised to keep your voltage above that at all times to be safe.

AQ2000d vs MB Quart DSC-2000.1D
Sir-Lancelot replied to mr.tigger's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Bingo and well said !! Being 39 and having had a system or two in my life there were some hard lessons in my youth to learn that. When you keep replacing things over and over no matter the brand there is only one common denominator and that is what you see in the mirror. I have not blown and amp or a speaker since my early 20's. Take care of your purchase and it will take care of you. -

Glad to know you have an arseho. Part of my dislike for the MB is what Maxxsonics has done to them. Check out their "new" components. They should really have a crunch label and not an MB. They are doing everything they can to get mainstreamers to buy based off past reputation and considering what they have done to the other companies they have swallowed I am 100% sure that they are cutting corners they shouldn't on components and assembly on their amplifiers. Pre-Maxx purchase MB's are more than fine. x2, if your on a budget then those might be the amplifiers for you (they are good budget amplifiers from what I have heard and from people on here). I dont buy used but I would buy a used Sundown all day over these products. I been down the mainstream line of products and there are only certain brands that I would use and these guys are not one of them. It is up to you at the end of the day, it is your money and your equipment (just make sure you way all your options and pick what is best for you and your application). *Also there is no difference in between the two sound wise, the only differenece will be price wise and that is it. Everyone is on a budget some large some small. I look for value and I feel for less than $150 shipped the MB Quart is (for now) a good value for my money. Time will tell if i feel that way in a week, a month or in 5 -10 years. I take excellent care of things i spend my money on so I am a very good lab rat. If I am wrong, I will be the first to say so, but as of today right now I am happy with the Maxxsonics products I own and so is my wallet. -

Pre-Maxx purchase MB's are more than fine. I agree 100% on the components. Old school were the chit. Not so much now. Yes, they should be marketed under the Crunch lable until they come up with a higher end line up to do the MB Quart repetutation justice. In my opinion the best budget comps are the ID CTX. I will have to disagre on the amps. At least for now, the DSC and the Crunch GP3000 amps are well built and priced very nice. Not all the Crunch amps are as nice and maybe all the MB Quart amps are not either, but the guts on the DSC4150 are comparable to much more expensive amps and it does rated I am sure of it. I bridged the DSC4150 to 500w x 2 to my front (of course the gains are down) and it's quite good. This amp cost me less than $150 and that is a GREAT value in my opinion. Amplifiers take a signal and make it louder there is no voodoo that makes one sound significantly better than another. All that said I am NOT knocking Sundown at all. They are excellent amps, but just because everyone has one does not mean I have to run out and get one too. -

I do not see anything wrong with the MB Quart. I have the DSC 4150. It is a very nice amp and is well built. Opinions are like arseho everyone has one. Pay more all you want to but I thought I would throw that out there. -

Drop the LPF to 80 or even 60 if your mids can keep up. You will like it better, I bet. That 15 is not a midbass. That box should be fine for the XCON. They do well at the low end of recommended. I had mine in a little over 3 each tuned to 34 or so and they did just fine. I agree with the above, it takes a while to break these suckers in. Mine also sound better and better as time goes on. -
AWESOME! Have any cool pics? I'd love to work on fighter planes, but that requires joining the military. There is always a catch. lol x2 on the pics.

Do not weigh yourself. It will disappoint you every time. Go by the way your clothes fit on you. If they feel better and are not too tight, well it's working. Look into Atkins. You wont go hungry and you can still eat your fired chicken. Sugar is evil when you are trying to drop pounds. Empty calories that turn in to fat. Alcohol is Kay too, Jack and diet, Whiskey and water, you get the idea. That weed is no good man, you should send it to me so I can dispose of it proper. :drink: Dont give up. I am pulling for you big guy.

I personally think Maxxsonics has some good products. Some are indeed low budget and the ratings are all fuCked up, but not all. The MB Quart DSC's look damn good and are getting good reviews. From personal experience the GP3000D's are very nice and put out more than rated. Some of their offerings are a damn good bang for the buck IMO, you just have to do your homework before you buy.

You are going to dump a small fortune into that. I am really at a loss for words. Good luck man.
