Return it and get your money back best option. OR Mount it to the rear window like the Ranger picks Chris (Lucky 76) posted.

In a sense it makes it louder as it makes your amp more efficient playing a smaller spectrum. You don't want your subs playing full range. It would sound like shit.
-
Looking good man. Bet you are getting excited now.
-
You have taken over this forum and you need your own section.

Sometimes the best thing to do is start over from the battery and work back checking all connections. Do you have a DMM?
-
If you go the Z15 route, you have more than just the 4 cubes you were talking about to work with, right? He better hope so.

AQ20KD coming soon...

Thats crazy. I bet someone will buy 3 of them, just to try and be like _ _ _ _. -
Well, I learned something today. AH = snake oil for the uninformed. So, it's actually max amps we should be paying attention to? That goes against everything I read on the interweb. Damn I hate being a sheep. Where would I find this number on my current battery?

You will have a smile, no doubt and when you get that itch to add another 2000D the subs can take it.

I have the xcons sealed and they are badass. If money is not an issue then it's a no brainer..........xcons.

Optima yellow top
Sir-Lancelot replied to rodneydude23's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
How big is your alternator? 100+ and you should be ok..ish. Why not put it in the back by the amp and keep one up front? That would be the best solution. -
Do you compete? If not, dont bother. Unless you are the luckiest man to ever build a box, you will spend a ton of money rebuilding box after box to get it right.

I don't expect people to take me seriously with this user name. Change it to Mr. Denim and they will have no choice. -

No, I cut the back out of the pod right behind the woofer and added the PVC piece to vent in to the doors. I sealed the doors up the best I could. It is a big improvment, but there is still some tuneing to be done as well as stopping the buzz created by the woofer pods and the panel. All that buzz cant be helping the sound so I am sure there is more in there if I work them over a bit. I have always wanted a 3 way set with nice bass. I hope with some more work I can improve on these a little. They are not far off, but I am picky and I want them to hit a little harder than they do. It's in there I just got to find it. -

ID's are bad ass. I am a big fan, straight up. Ha Ha i didnt even think about that. I just stuck em in there. Going to paint the box the same color as the pods, so I will lose my ass. I should have listened to you long ago denim. I do have some changes I will need to make on this build. The pods are buzzing away with the woofers so I need to add some mass to them and find a better way to attach them. I was worried about that when i was installing the 8's, but I really wanted to hear them and was hoping for the best. Nothing is ever black and with this hobby, unfortunately. I was thinking of adding some silicone adhesive to the back of the pods, then bolting them to the door panel again. Then I was either going to add model clay or something like that to fill up the cavity above the woofer and add some mass to the pods. I think they are too light and that's why they are buzzing. Anyone got any ideas? -
AQ 2200 Clipping Led
Sir-Lancelot replied to wof131s's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have no first hand knowledge of the AQ, but I believe blinking in rythem to the bass is okay. It's when it comes on and stays lit that you are supposed to be clipping. How accurate that is, I have no idea. I had an Infinity bass cube in a compeny car and it had a clipping indicator that functioned the way I described above so maybe your does too. Try turning it up and see if the light stayes on or better yet email AQ and ask them. I usually just set it by ear with a few heavy bass tunes and then turn it down a little to be safe. That little extra turn is not worth the risk for me. -
Yawn. I am going to start a forum pool so people can place bets on how long it takes you to screw that XCON up before you get a box, much less a car.

Which amp is best for my xcon.

Buy used then save up to buy exactly what you want. YOu could then resell the used equipment and get most of your money back. Good advice Jay-Cee. Sometimes you have to crawl before walk. -
Look at the Image Dynamic sets. I had a set of the low end CTX and they sounded very nice. I would bet the higher end would be great.

I think am going to keep them sealed. I do not compete so the 1 or 2 DB gain is not worth it to me. I am serious when I say the XCONS get loud as hell sealed. If I change anything I may add some MDF pieces to take up space and see what happens if I were to go down from 3cf to say 2.5cf. You wont have that big peak sealed like you do with a ported box, but that's okay with me. They sound amazing sealed. -
More of a lateral move then an upgrade since you wont gain anything going from 1000w-1200w. Sundown is a nice amp tho and it is your money. Just asking because I thought the RD's were pretty nice amps. I have done the same a few times in my life just to change things up, so I am not one to judge.

Extra battery in back and you should be good to go. Whats wrong with the RD amp?
