Your factory volt gauge is crap. Get a digital one or use a DMM. Have you done the big 3?

Any way to make Rock/Metal sound good with a subwoofer?
Sir-Lancelot replied to bartwo's topic in General Audio
Midbass FTW. -
You have a 105 amp or larger alt now plus the bat. Why do you think you think you need a ho alt. I can say with 100% certainty, your BL will never need one.

Check the coils with a DMM if you haven't already. Maybe it's right just labeled wrong.

Going to take some tonight. They sure are sexy Mark. My wife does not think so, especially since they are on her kitchen table. lol Thank for the kind words. You made it look easy and I had to give it a go. Glad I did, but sanding bondo sucks ass. that was the worst part. Thank you! -

Not the most recent, but one I saved on topic. My youngest bringing Daddy his medicine. -
setup wrong or upgrade to xcon?
Sir-Lancelot replied to basshead601's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Set your gains with the sub level all the way up and leave the bass boost off. Listen to it man, it cant sound good with a clipped signal. If you want it louder you may need bigger woofer/amp, but feeding it a clipped signal and adding bass boost is not the solution. -
Ha Ha. Me too. Aparently I was one of the top entertainers ever in South Africa. Here I am. Whos the sexy bish?
-
Sure does look like it sqjeep. Good call.

My friend has them attached under his couch and chairs for his home theater room. They vibrate your ass pretty good. Hard to tell how much because he has a pretty powerful sub too but its a very nice set up either way. Very intense.

I was in the same boat a few years ago Chop. I was let go because the company I worked for couldnt afford me. WTF? I am in sales if I was making too much money, wouldnt that be a good thing? It is a bad feeling, so as Clinton said "I feel your pain." I hope you find something soon bro. My family will pray for yours.

I laughed my ass off on this pic.

It just seemed like you hold a bad opinion on SPL geared people and me being an SPL person it seemed a little hostile, I myself agree that systems that are built just for burps and that cannot play music are pointless and a waste of money but if i took your comments the wrong way, i apologize. Ha Ha, I am going from 2-15" to 2-18" XCONS. I have no problems with loud. It's all good man. Like I said it's hard to judge tone reading a comment.
-
Not sure you got hostile out of my comments, it was not meant to be in any way. Hard to judge someone's tone reading on a forum I guess.
-
Agree, it was well written. Wish I could have read the one he lost to the glitch.

If you are going to port the 12" ICON's, you are looking at 5cf. 15" XCON ported at 4cf would slap. Hell they slap hard in 3cf sealed too. One big woofer is sexy so get the 15" XCON.
-
Looks great! Very clean. Why did you run sups up port front? I have always run the port back. Just curious if you have tried both before. My 18's should be here tomorrow. Have not even started on the box.
-
If you take off the driver rear side panel you can put a yellow top in there. If there is a factory sub, just remove it.

"SQL"?? - You do realize you will be getting an email from //M5. LOL

If you are into spl you can find louder subs that the SSA, that is not what they designed it to do. The XCONS will however get plenty loud. Just look at the specs and you can see they are just as over designed as any true SPL subwoofer is, but where they really shine is how musical they are. Always precise and tight. They do not lose control and sound excellent on any music I have played them on. Not too many SQ subs on the market that can take 1800 - 2000w daily. For that 20 second fart on a test tone go elsewhere. Hell SSA will tell you the same, good guys that don't go to every forum playing fan boys. They want you to be happy even if it means suggesting a different sub. Truth. When you want to enjoy loud and low music all day, every day...........a SSA XCON is hard to beat. If you want to score a few db higher on a term lab then build a fart box and pile on the power to a different sub. A fart box would be a waste of this subs potential.

Looks good.
