Damn it man, you worked your ass off today. Great start. What brand resin do you use and what is the work time with it before it jells?

Woot! Just ordered my Xcon 18
Sir-Lancelot replied to mr.sagat's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
You are going to love that XCON. Gets loud and sound excellent doing so. Welcome. Post pics of you set up and new build. -
I only sanded to get the sides flush and to break the edge on the corners. I didnt sand the whole box. I filled the screw holes with carpenters putty and sanded. Rolled on some sealer primer, then rolled on my paint. I chose a roller with some texture to try and match the interior trim.

Use a sealer primer.

Amp help please!
Sir-Lancelot replied to PhishHead's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
No dont cut it up, just look it over. Are you talking about 1.6/1.7 on each woofer coil or total at the amp? What ohm coils is your sub supposed to be? -

Amp help please!
Sir-Lancelot replied to PhishHead's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Better a fuse then your amp or worse. Keep it in perspective. You will get it sorted out bro. Wiring trouble happens to everyone at some point. Nature of the beast. In that cut was there any wire exposed that could have touched some metal? Might be a good idea to check the speaker wire from the amp all the way to woofer. Pain in the ass, but once it's fixed it's fixed. -
I would check with Mark and see when the new ICONS are due. The current ICON would be very sweet, but I think the XCON dust cap on the new ICON is sexy! I would think twice about the RE's. From reviews they are not what they used to be. You know I dont put a lot of stock in hear say and prefer 1st hand experience, so know that comment on the RE subs is all hear say I am passing along. Why not a BL?

Hurry up and finish this thing. I wanna see this one done. I am sure it will be sweet.

Fuck all your planning man, we want some installation pics stat. lol Good luck with the build. I am sure it will be nice when you get it all set up the way you want.

what mp should i run? 1500 kicker or the 1700 brutus at 2 ohms?
Sir-Lancelot replied to zmoney91's topic in Fi Technical
I like Maxxsonics. Both of my amps do what they are supposed to do and more. That said, get the Kicker because as stated above they do rated at 2ohm. -
Amp help please!
Sir-Lancelot replied to PhishHead's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Ok so I am going to get the fuses after work. I have a DMM but dont know how to go about checking the wire. Would I check after the fuse location? Thanks again for the help. Oh and the ground wire that came out was on the amp to the speaker. I hope nothing got messed up on the amp or sub. Thanks again. Another reason I love this forum. Quick answers. That wire came, hit the amp's heatsink, and caused a DEAD short that blew the fuse. Good thing it had a fuse or your car could be on fire. Thats the bright side, but you are not out of the woods just yet. It could have caused damage to your amp before the fuse popped. I hope not. thats why I sday get a DMM and check all the grounds and power spupply. Check it all. There is plenty of info on here if you do a search to see what to set the MM on. -
^ this.

Amp help please!
Sir-Lancelot replied to PhishHead's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If a wire came out on your sub and grounded on some metal it would cause a dead short and send your amp in to protect/blow a fuse. Get a fuse and try it out. I would suggest going over every inch of your wiring and double/triple check everything before you start it up. Get a DMM. -

Would love to see those pics. I told the wife today that when my 13yo gets her own car, I will have to get 2 more 18's because we wont need the 3rd row. She was not impressed. lol -

Thanks man. Let's do it! I would love to sit in your's as well and get some tips on tweaking my front stage. A basshead with an accurate front stage......is that even possible? lol -
I like that texture too. This is looking great. Cant wait to see it finished up.

Ordered a Fosgate T1500, what do I need now?
Sir-Lancelot replied to deernet's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
First thing I would do is make a choice between the 12's or the 15, but not both. Are you adding an 18 or replacing the others? Put a big battery in back with the amp and it "should" be fine with the big 3 and that. Just keep an eye on voltage and go from there. -
