Seriously? If it is important to you, take your time and give more info. I am not looking that shit up just to take a guess because you are lazy,

problem with bass knob on SAZ-3500

Strange. Would seem the opposite would happen if you turned it all the way up, but not all the way down It's not a bass knob, it's a remote gain.

    Daily driving sub stage

Haha, I actually randomly saw him at Cook-Out or McDonalds here in Durham, can't remember which one. He let me hear it in person and it sounded real clean. I am looking for a good bit louder though, I am at 147.8 at about 32 Hz right now, but those 13Av.2s are not very efficient, I have to run my amp at .5 ohm to do that. BTL or maybe even the Nightshade. Either would be more of a high output sub if thats your goal. Tune higher too. Get 18's if you want loud. I had 15" xcons and now 18's. BIG difference. lol

If it sounded good to you before, then yes something is jacked. Some "pro's" are in reality anything but. My suggestion......learn to do it yourself. You will be 10 x's the "pro" they are with practice and patience. "Pro's" want to do it as quick as they can. It once took me a whole weekend to install a set of 6.5" components. A "pro" would go broke trying to do that.

    Sealing enclosure

Yep it's basically making your own wood putty. It's the same stuff you'd buy in a store, just made by you. And it's free, you make tons of dust when cutting MDF. As far as mixing it, it's like making a paste. Start off with a small amount of glue on a pile of dust then keep adding more glue until you get the consistency desired. Don't mix up too much b/c the stuff sets up rather quick and will be hard as nails! Thats the damn truth !!

I doubt it's the amp. Prolly your set up. Amps dont change sound like some think they do. They are not processors. They just amplify the signal you send them.

Hell yeah man. Let me know how you like them. I think they are the best bang for the buck out there right now. Let me know how you like the horns too. I am about (-) this close to pissing off the wife and buying more shit. I really like the Dynaudio set I have now, but it is nowhere near loud enough for the 18's.

I am running the DSC4125 and love it. Got it for $160 shipped on ebay. Hella good deal.

    Sealing enclosure

^ this. I also run a bead of silicon down the seams after I do the above because I am OCD like that. I let it dry 24 hours before I mount subs.

    Daily driving sub stage

Nope, but hope to soon. Check out the Member's rides page on here and look at MemphisMazda. He is pushing 147 + with 2 15's on 3000w in a daily tuned enclosure. If someone local to me could meter my truck I would do it tomorrow.

If output is your goal, hard to beat the BTL. Yes, it will still sound damn good too with the right box. If you want a ground pounder that gets loud, low, and sound fucking great, XCON. There are people hitting 150 with 15's and 3000w so it's not impossible. It would be a shame to build a fart biox with an xcon, but that would be one hell of a nice sounding 40hz. lol
  12. Up your budget and get a 15" XCON sealed. They will POUND in a sealed box and the SQ is amazing. You will not regret it.

    Pair of 15inch Xcon

I had the 15's both sealed and ported. My ported box was just about like yours, coochie hair over 3fc tuned to 34. They were fine in that box. Very flat and loud. My sealed box was 3cf and let me tell you, they sound so damn good sealed up. If you went a 3cf or a little smaller sealed I bet you would be a very happy man. They will still throw down sealed up. If it was me, and I was worried about space I would seal them up and see how you like it first. The output will surprise you. SSA don't half ass nothing man. These subs will excel in either box design. As far as double baffle, do it! YOu have to. The reason I went sealed is because they flat out tore up my ported box and it was well built. These fuckers will move.

    sa-8 build

Looks good man. Thanks for taking pics and sharing them. There is a build log section. Maybe ask a mod to move it there so it dont get lost. Do you build your boys boxes too?

Welcome We like lots of pics so don't disappoint.
  16. Sir-Lancelot

How loud will I get with this?

    110 - 180 would be my guess
  17. Get yourself a 12" XCON or ICON and be happy.

    Random SSA video's I found

I will never understand why more people dont run the XCONS. They are truly a badass woofer. I guess dip shits like me could actually make a video and help promote them for you guys. DOH!
  19. Sir-Lancelot

Fi Q sealed off 1500w rms?

You dont have to turn the gain all the way up, so yeah it will work. If the sub sounds stressed turn the gains down.

    xcon 15 box n amp

Aero ports require less Sq" than slot ports.

screw holes in fi bl blocked with foam??

LOL. Carefully put the screw through it bro.

    Subwoofer recommendations

You could run 2 10" icons ported in a little over 2cf after sub and port displacement tuned to about 33hz. That would be a nice set set up and would sound good on anything you throw at it.

    xcon 15 box n amp

    That box will work fine.
