amp shutting off and back on??? help
Sir-Lancelot replied to splguy1989's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
soo its big electrical upgrade i need? it didnt do it with my kx1200 No not really. Do the big 3 check your grounds Make sure you battery is good That is not much power, you have other problems, but if you keep running it at 8v it will die a smoky death. Your amp is prolly already damaged and will never put out the power it did when new. -
amp shutting off and back on??? help
Sir-Lancelot replied to splguy1989's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
YOur amp is trying to save it's own life. YOu are trying to kill it running at 8v. -
Really, only rarely do drivers ever get that full 600w the amp is rated for. On paper it sound good, but when installed things change. Clean and unclipped - drivers can take more power than rated, it us people that screw it up by not paying attention. lol That said, If he didnt know what to listen out for, yes he would smoke it and quick.

And rattle the shit out of your lid too, good luck with your build.

320 to the sub and 150 on each door. Sounds good. More power on the comps and deaden/seal the doors would prolly help that midbass a good bit too. I would do it the other way around with the amps, but thats just the basshead in me coming out. lol

Glad you got it sorted out. Does he like it better now?

what was it?

Amp power wire.
Sir-Lancelot replied to ShaiTan's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
very flexible and the price is right. More $ in my pocket means more $ I can spend on other things that make me happy. To each his own but my red welding cable is as good or better then some $5 foot purple shit. -
LOL, Truth.

Amp power wire.
Sir-Lancelot replied to ShaiTan's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
How much is it? I don't see a price. Welding cable is perfectly fine for car audio. I use wire from here weldingsupply.com and it is nice. Edit to add there is no need to buy the more flexible stuff from there the regular welding cable is very flexible as is. -
lowes/home depot power for my amps
Sir-Lancelot replied to ExplicitYourSelf's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Bad idea. That cable has only a few thick strands of copper. Weldingsupply.com is your friend. -
Your whole life, how old are you? Not fucking with you at all, just curious.
-
what do ya think of this price for install?
Sir-Lancelot replied to armandomacedo's topic in General Audio
^ Yup, I will be selling 3 of them soon and was looking for $75ea. OP, if you think it's a good deal then it is. That is all that matters. There is no shame in making money thats why they are in business and shops warranty equipment they install so take that in to consideration. I would not do that deal personally, but if you feel okay with it then go for it. -
Truth! Have you given any thought to what it will take to run that power. Alt? Bat? How about how much of your car you are going to lose to a massive box? Baby steps man. More to it then what you see on youtube videos.
-
You may be on to something. I bet carpet and some neon would really get them wanging.
-
LOL, Sad thing is, everyone saw it coming except the OP. Dude asked so many questions to have not learned one damn thing.
-
What do you have now/?
-
You get the recone from SSA. PM the people who you bought the woofer from.
-
if you dont learn to set gains you will just blow more expensive drivers. THE MOST expensive sub will not help you if you dont treat it with some respect.
-
Sorry bro. Not to rub it in, but I saw it coming. Get a recone and adjust your gains correctly.

T1500 question...
Sir-Lancelot replied to deernet's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Pods could actually hurt your midbass. You need to seal them into the doors and give them a solid mounting surface. A crappy 6.5 should be able to play down to 80hz pretty easily. Good luck on you pods, post up some pics for us to enjoy! -
SPL woofers generally have a peaky response. Thats why they are so popular they get louder, but are not the most musical.
