Those little rainbow 5 1/4's can be some mean suckers in large enough enclosures . I'm running mine actively with a 100w on the mids and 50w on the tweets.

Don't think I would use roofing tar. Can't even begin to fathom the mess that would be in a 120+ degree car in the summertime

I told a guy here at work about using welding wire instead of the expensive stuff . Dumb arse went and bought a spool of wire for a wire feed mig welder

paint, mdf can be painted to look like glass with minimal work . Veneer , 1/8" then stain the veneer and poly it . More work but you get that wood look I know you love

The plexi bottom is on it (not the original, though) but I didn't have the depth available to mount it plexi out (which is a PITA to do also) and have enough space between the heatsink and mounting board to get airflow in there to cool it. It looks like there is a ton of room there but the Sundown and the processor still have to go in and have to clear the back seat. Cool, I agree. It was apain in the arse mounting Daves ms1000 plexi up .
