SoundStream wont Sponsor Local Competition.
ramos replied to Lord Baccus's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Damn man , should have been around back when spl comps first started popping up . sponshorship my fat arse , we were happy just to get a sticker from a manufacturer , much less any kind of discounts or freebies . Hell I owned the freaking shop , and still paid for everything out of my own pocket. My idea of local comps were within a 12 hour drive I bought my s-10 for comp purposes only , had 21k miles on it when I bought it . Had 63k on it when it was wrecked two years later . All from driving to "local" shows . What ever happened to car audio being a hobby ? -
Huge difference between hands on and an engineer. Most are actually a bit funny when it comes to doing things, the real trick when you can do both is to not get stuck in the world of you doing it all. Engineers are just supposed to plan, technicians do all the work. Some engineers like to build stuff

Think I'm gonna apply at DHL as a logistic planner . I could cut their shipping budget in half easily
-
Our logistic plans are set so that entire trailer loads are transported to UPS hubs around the country. Packages taken to that hub are allready sorted , and destined for that immediate area . 99.925% using this method our packages are delivered within 4 days of the order being placed . I tried explaining our methods to DHL , it completely went over their heads . If I bring a trailer into Fort worth, with packages destined for Fort worth. DHL's standard op is to load the packages on a plane , and then send them to Chicago to be sent back to Fort worth via ground . WTF ???

USPS is the only way to go international. Nobody else has service levels that come close

After meeting with dhl execs, and see how they run things . I wouldn't ship anything time critical through them if they paid me to do so

Vibrations are gonna happen . Do you actually see the sides of the enclosure flexing ?

Sub 20hz tones in that little arse hyundai would scare bystanders
-
They are some very nice sounding subs , and will go very low
-
First comp they did like a 130 . Went home , pulled everything out . Rebuilt the enclosure for 2 of them . Went back next week and did 139
-
Put four of those , on a power 1000 . In the back of a hyundai excel . And you have my very first spl system I ever competed with
-
Looks like an old punch . Sean is right no where near 800w . don't even think the max rating on them was that high . Lovely subs , big farging humongous arse box sub. IIRC they sold brand spanking new for right around $200 . I think his price is high
