Old School Amp Crossover HELP!
ramos replied to JazzScreamer's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Basically just finding the frequency you want and changing the appropriate value on the card. Tables in the manual, and they give you the formula too. Little bit of desoldering, and a little bit of soldering -
Old School Amp Crossover HELP!
ramos replied to JazzScreamer's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Good old x cards lol I hated those things The first introduction of them from rf offered a couple different versions for different cut off frequencies. Later on they simply added a inductor and capacitor table into the instruction manual so you could change the crossover points yourself. If memory serves me correctly the 55.2 and smaller came with the 80hz low pass 80hz high pass card . But it's been a while . You can always check the values on the card and find out -

Some of them are okay, but some are recorded at ridiculously jacked up levels -
Deflex Pad? What does everyone use behind their mids in their doors?
ramos replied to Smondo17's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Lead and clay are for mass loading to deaden the enclosures. The foam.........well that's for a different purpose. My mids are in the kicks by the way -

Don't have any mids in my doors. But where I have them, I have lead, clay, and acoustical foam behind the mids -

Probably would be a good idea to seal the front wave from the back some how.

Wait.... huh? Something happened way back when the board first started that made everybody have to re register.

So are we gonna have to re-enlist in another year or so like we had to do before ?

He would shit a solid gold brick then if he had seen the old US amps demo where they dead shorted one of the amps and welded with it lol Holy crap! I saw that on a McIntosh amp before I think. They were "playing" Jazz through a steele nail. The demonstration I saw was using a vlx series amp ( don't remember exact model) THey wired it up to a power supply, clamped the negative speaker lead onto a piece of steel, the positive had an electrode clamp holding a welding rod. Handed me a pair of goggles, flipped the power supply on , and laid a beautiful 4" bead

What is that at the end of the line ?

BULLSHIT , kids are getting fatter cause parents are looking for an easy way out. It's a hell of a lot easier to plop a kid down and hand them a controller, than it is to actually go outside with them and throw a ball.

Wow , met the hottest hillbilly chick I have ever seen in my entire life last night at a bbq restaraunt. Talked for a few minutes, she got off work and came and sat with me for an hour or so. It was all chicken but the gravy right up to the point when she popped in a big wad of chewing tobbaco

I hope it meets your expectations! Bah , I come with no expectations. Mearly to admire. I'm new to the SQ scene. Helping Dave with his car was the most involvement I have had with an sq competition setup. I have built bits and pieces of cars over the years. But Dave's is the first I have helped with from the ground up. I like to see what others have done to accomplish the same goal.

2' or less of water = not much boat traffic I'd need a slightly different boat. That's what the river yacht is for . Run up the river a couple miles. Pull up the outboard and float back down. With just the trolling motor I only have a 12" draft
