Not sure right off hand. You could see how far of a drive it is from you to Vatech for a general idea.

Works for me.

I should be finished and ready for vinyl hopefully before Christmas barring incident. So anytime after the holidays sounds sexy to me

I'm getting ready to go hop on a plane to Florida to sign a contract that should keep my summers pretty busy for the next 4 years. I should get back on Monday morning. I'm gonna go ahead and layout the rings, and get the panels wrapped in fleece. If you don't mind I'm going to take pictures along the way and make a pictorial of my crazy ways of doing things. And post them here, and probably over a caraudio.com as well. If this is okay with you that is

Easy now, I'm from just down the road in the noke

Thought you would like that. Nothing says High Class German auto more than John Deere

Yep, how about some construction pics First thing I made was a backing plate to seal up the pods. Here it is trimmed up and in place then we started door with the door panels all taped up, and cuts marked I would normally use an air powered body saw for cutting. But my stupid compressor is on the fritz. So here's my weapon of choice for this project. And here is after all the cuts were made. Aaron turn your head Notice the wood divider I had to make. There was a factory speaker grill in the way that had to go. So out it went, and the brace was put in place to seperate the crossovers. Now on to mounting rings where we want them. This is what I used to mount the rings. Glue gun, and gigantic high temp glue sticks That's some big d@mn glue sticks Sorry for the chitty pic Now let's position the back plate and door panel Notice the 1/4" inch gap between the back plate and the door panel. Did we screw up ? Nope, gotta leave room for fleece and vinyl Here we have the rings glued into position except for the tweets, had to build in two stages. THen we stretch fleece over everything and smooth out any wrinkles before we put any resin on. I don't know if you can tell what is printed on the fleece, but Nothing says Mercedes quite like John Deere I put the first coat of resin on the fleece, and that's where I'm at, at this point. Resin takes quite a while to cure in this crappy weather we're having in hillbillyville. SHould hopefully have more pictures tomorrow

Just say the word.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Vladd: He should have, they only stand out 5 1/2 " at the highest point. And that is at the front at the dash. With 200w a door, leg room will be less of a concern than hearing loss

Anytime after Christmas works for me.

My exact feelings on the rotoslip

they are right around 3/4 cuft each door.

Holy bat chit batman an 8004 . So 100w each set x 2 sets per door = 200w a door :cool32: d@mn I have got to hear this

It's DIM cause I'm Doing It Myself With some help from Nick, and Aaron, and Dave ( might not realize it yet ). dave get's the joy of helping me vinyl these monsters. I'm gonna smooth out any sharp curves with filler so it shouldn't be that bad. Gonna have to decide if we recover the whole panel or the pods. I built the pods on the existing removable panel at the bottom. So it still attaches with screws just like before ( added a couple bolts to compensate for added weight) , and all the design elements ( Nick, and Aaron know the corners I speak of ) were copied . So basically I have buit this pod to follow the factory curves of the panel so that we wouldn't have to modify the rest of the entire door. I think once I get the other panel built ( build pics coming in a day or two ) and we get them vinyled, they are gonna look pretty d@mn sexy

Me too , I tried to get them as physically close together as possible. Aaron has the potential to have the loudest front stage I believe I have ever seen. Aaron how much power are you going to run to each door ?
-
oops forgot this one Just for you Aaron I was able to work them back in

Woo hoo got the camera fiasco straightened out. Bastages ordered the wrong battery Got the right one finally. Let's see, they started life like this Add some rings, fleece, fiberglass, resin, and a little body filler and we get this. Notice you still get to keep the rear map pocket. This is just the first layer of filler prior to sanding. Tape on the tweeter is just to hold for pictures, as I haven't mounted anything yet. Look like something you had in mind

You will see my child, you will see ..........

Getting ready to head to cc in a few minutes. They called and my battery is waiting on me . Crossover location is what I'm working on right now. will be either where the old 6 1/2 " was if I can work them both in there, or where the rear map pocket was if I can't .

You mean a dead skin scraper... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not the cheese grater looking thing, there are some that use a very coarse stone. Pumice is what makes lava soap gritty. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know what a pumice stone is Its a dead skin scraper. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay , I old a guy one time to use it. Come back later and he had one of the cheese grater kind sawing away on his hands. I live around a bunch of necks man. I can't help it
