Need a new clear and full speaker setup

Take a look at Focal's website, for example. And look for their 6 x 9. You won't find them in the Utopia or K series? only in their lowest lines. If you have good speakers upfront, why do you want to downgrade with poor speakers in the rear ? If they are located in the doors, why not ? But if they are in the back, behinh the passengers' head : forget that idea, they will be painful for the passengers, you will never hear them, and they will suffer from the bass coming from your trunk !!! Put your money where it makes sense : the best front speakers you can afford, with deadening, sealing holes in the doors,...

    D1 or D2 for a Mayhem 12" ?

Too expensive for a single sub. + Shipping is already super expensive, as I'm not in the USA. If 4000 is too much for one, it would be better to run one at 2 ohms on the 4000 watts amp. or use the 4000 watts on 2 Mayhems. So, DVC 1 on each sub. Ok. I'll see what my friend wants to do with his money !!! Thanks

    D1 or D2 for a Mayhem 12" ?

Thanks guys ! I think he can fit a 3.5ft3 ported box in his hatch, no more. That's short for 2 12's, or for a single 15" , isn't it ?

    D1 or D2 for a Mayhem 12" ?

2 subs would be better(more cone area) but I care for the room available. Can one single Mayhem support 4000 watts ? It's not for burps, but for loud listenings. He has a lot of speakers in the front doors !

    Which amp for my subs

Did you look at db-r.com ? I think the Sundown 2500 Denim told you about, is a good choice : with a good electrical system you will have lots of power for the subs ! It' so cheap on pre-order ! I would get it instead of the Crescendo.

    Few questions about speakers........

I would have tried a Bravox set, but it's cool to support your local dealer. If you're happy with those RE, congratulations !

    Stock electrical for a SAZ2500D

100% Stock? It won't work. Do the big3 in 0 gauge. Add a second batt, like an xs or ...optima, and check your voltage. It may work, it may not ! After that, H O alt!

    Factory Processors

You're in really good hands, Julian ! The JBL processor seems to be the best choice for you, but $800 is a lot of money (for me, indeed !). Why do you think it won't sound good enough with the JL Cleansweep on a good install ? personally, my eq is quite flat on my h u (Pioneer prs 88) and I love it like that. I used to play a lot with eq in the past, but now I don't feel the need no more. I have good equipment, installed the best I could, with a correct electrical system, and that's it ! 3 10" Icons on several thousand watts will not allow you to enjoy the fr speakers !!! j/k good luck !
  13. I totally agree ! I braced the inside of my box, and I can tell you it does not vibrate to loosen anything !!! When you hit the box, it seems really...tight and strong. A friend of mine has a huge box for his xcon's, with triple baffle on top, and you can't feel it vibrate when the bass hits !!!

Just need a little help deciding

Get the Xcon 12" on that saz, so that you can have another one later with another saz !!!
  15. One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain !

I was thinking about your car, after I wrote this !!! It's coming from a Bob Marley song, they did not have insane bass by these times !!!

    SPL vs SQ

In a few words : SQ means that you want the most accurate system to play music, and SPL is only made to reach the biggest db numbers with the sub(no need to run speakers at all). SPL : burrrrrp box, high tune SQ : you :peepwall:try to play music as a home audio system. just my 2cents!

Many smaller subs vs larger subs

Somebody posted a chart like that a few days ago, on a topic made by Porkchop IIRC. He was asking about his future sub seteup.

    4 channel amp comparison

The Boss audio would be NICE bridge on a set of good component speakers. Get a Bravox set here, your Focals are nice but, they're entry level Focals (too expensive for what they can do). what did you choose finally ?

These tweeters look nice, how do you like them ? You're coming from Dynaudio ? Do you really feel like you lost some quality in your mids&highs ? I'm so jealous of your install !!! Congrats ! Waiting for the subs install.
