Do you know your dB score now, after the electrical upgrade ? You should test it before the new box. Good luck with your burp box.

Cant decide between ICON and XCON
Notorious97200 replied to Knxwledge's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I have owned both, in 15". I would get the Xcon for sure, because I love how strong it can be while being super musical ! But the Icon seems to sound better. -
Mine seems to laugh at the Incriminator 20.1 (2400w), but I stay at 12.5 v usually. Maybe it sees 2000 watts max ? It barely moves, but it's musical enough, and still very loud when I want ! Good luck. Tuned in...

1000 watts at 1 Ohm should not be harder on your electrical than 1000 watts at 2 Ohms. I would get a DVC 2, wire to 1 Ohm, and set the gain low on the amplifier I want/use until I can upgrade the electrical. Unless you're seeing a second sub in the future...
-
I would not keep that in mind. Play with what you have, now that you won't use rear speakers. I did not know Twisted Sound made subwoofers. Take a look at the SSA line of subs, a single Icon should do it for you.

(2) Fi BTL 15" - 15000 watts in the trunk

Kicker had some nice 1200-1500 watts amps. Or you can try brazilian amps. -
I'm in the process of sound deadening my car a little. It's a Mazda CX-5, a 4 small door SUV. I want to buy some Secondskin products. In my cart I have 32 sqft of Damplifier B-stock and one sheet of LLP. Will I be able to do my front doors with the Damplifier and the LLP correctly ? I will use the leftover for my trunk and trunk lid. I know I wont buy the special adhesive, as it's an overseas delivery (by plane). I hope I am making the right choice. I don't want to spend too much on that project.

After 3 years on a 2400 watts amp, my 15" Zcon is like new ! Still super stiff. It barely move at full tilt, like it can take so much more ! I'm patiently waiting for the SSA tweeters. Good luck with your wall. -
I used 2.5 sheets of Damplifier per front door: on the outer skin, doubled just under the medium speaker, and on the inner skin(much smaller metal parts). In the Caribbeans, we have a nice weather : the Damplifier sticks very very well ! I found a wooden roller from a previous order, it was perfect. No bubbles at all First listen with second wood ring for the mid, and the Damplifier on the driver side door : nice, nothing too impressive from the stock door. Then I cut the Luxury Liner Pro just to fit the inner door panel. It's soooo thick and heavy ! I used neoprene glue on the edges, but it's so thick it won't go anywhere. I had to make some little openings/cuts in it, but it still covers everything. First door done, I turned the music on, with no sub : I thought someone had turned the bass down on the stock door ! That was VERY impressive. Great motivation to work on the second door immediately. After the doors, I worked on the trunk lid. I used a few sheets of Damplifier, on every metal panels, or parts. Now the bass seems a lot cleaner without those horrible rattles. I need to tighten the top of the tailgate, and it will be good to go. I am very happy with the final results of this good day of work ! My installer (I was only the helper !!!!!!) wants to buy sheets of Luxury Liner Pro now. He really saw what that did to my sound system !!!! Today is Mardi Gras : it will be hot in the streets of FORT-DE-FRANCE, MARTINIQUE !!!

2.5 sheets of Damplifier per front door, a second wood ring for the mids, LLP on the panels : What an improvement ! I love it !

New amp under 300$?
Notorious97200 replied to Hellaflush73's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Welcome to the forum. Take a look at the SSA store : they have all kind of amps you need, from respectable brands. I'd rather get a good 1000 watts amp than a bad 1500-2000 w amp. -

First Post- Amp help?
Notorious97200 replied to gibsonusa5's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You only have a set of terminals : one positive and one negative. Ok we get it. We need to find the final impedance : 2 Ohms, 4 Ohms ? Can you see what is written on the subs, or near the terminals ? Like DVC 4 or SVC 4, DVC2,...? We need to know that. So we can tell you what kind of amp you need. -
Welcome ! What are your goals? Budget ?
