2000 watts should be nice. Upgrade your battery, and add a big one in the trunk. New SSA amps are coming soon, their 2200 w one looks good. If you could wait until they're out...
-
Nice choice...for the subs too !!!

My old Icon was different. Are you sure it's not the same ?

Welcome ! I would get the Xcon. Or a second Icon 12. Why not? Think about it.

(2) Fi BTL 15" - 15000 watts in the trunk

I'm not saying it's safe to run 4K to a BTL daily. Be careful ! Mine is on a 2400 watts amp, and I can't keep the voltage up with my car. So maybe the subs can see 2OOO at full tilt. I don't know. But it's loud enough for me. -

I'm in love with my BTL ! My installer runs 2 N2 15 on one Sundown NS-1. Another forum member had 2 18" N2 on a Crossfire 8K. Another friend used to run 4 15s on 2 Taramps 8K. None of them broke, all in the Hot (and wet) Caribbean weather. Have fun ! -
Those 10s and those A pillars look nice. Great install ! bravo

bad news , but good news for the new alt !

Amp isnt loud!?
Notorious97200 replied to Jon's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The 825 w amp is "louder" than the 1400 w one ? Did you have Bass Boost on on the Boss ? Did you try to play with the gain ? How did you set the new amp ? -

You already saw them ? I hope the 4 ch is small enough. I think I saw a pic of them, they were ...white. (I rather have black amps though). -
Thanks a lot. Next time I'll try to use a much thicker plexiglass and make a real window in the box. I did not want to sand, sand, prep,...to have a clean paint and a clean box interior. I'm very happy with the result. It sounds very good too.

One month without big bass in the car, it was hard, but I enjoyed the Seas miss, crossed at 50 Hz, with that 24 dB slope. Time to cross a little bit higher : I'll try 65 Hz. Sub is crossed at 63 Hz, on some roots reggae songs, I can go up to 80 Hz. I'm waiting for new tweeters...and I'm looking at that SSA 4 ch amplifier too.
-
EVERYTHING HOOKED UP It plays finally, and I love it !
-
Box : 4 cu ft @ 32 Hz. design from th free download in the Fi section, for the old UFO btl ! I just moved the sub hole on another side. Wiring the beast with pure cooper telephone cable
-
Did you try to ask the owner on his website ? I know he was active here some times ago. Those subs had good success.
-
The BTL should not like that too much...for daily pounding !
-
3.5k that's not a lot of power for an SP4. That would nice for daily. Louder than a BTL ? I don't know.
-
Sundown is available everywhere, on ebay, sonic elec, wooferset..., they're ready to ship It's marketing. They have big lips, huge motors,... You'll love your SSA sub. And won't regret your purchase.
-
Maybe it's time to try Lithium batteries. Personally, I'd love to. But shipping batteries oversea can only be done by boat. It's harder for me. I'm waiting for the SSA tweeters too. Nice build.

Good choice ! You should be loud, and sound good too !

and make a hole for those wires. Don't let them in the port. Nice car. -
I talked to my box builder yesterday : it should be good for this week-end. I hope so. He already have the money ($150 !). My "recone specialist" takes his time...maybe this week-end too.
-
You're running a single battery in the rear, for a SCV 4000,and it works ? Nice. Maybe you're not going full tilt all day long ! I've wanted an scv 3000 for so long, to run my Zcon 15 !

Those Damp sheets are so thick and hard, it's not easy to put them on non flat area. We used a wood roller I had from an old Hush Mat order. And hopefully we were wearing gloves. We did our best and we won't do it twice on this car. Now, I'm waiting on a new box and my sub.
