My friend keeps asking me about that ! So here are some dimensions I could get : VC : 4" diameter VC Height : 4.646 " double spider fixed part of the VC : 1.102" I don't know if those dimensions are good enough to have an answer, but they are what I have ! If you need more, tell me what to look for please. Can I have an estimate of the cost to compare with parts-express ? I want to know if it's worth waiting for a Fi recone, or just get a standard one. Thanks in advance Nick.

do the big3 and then add a battery in the rear. Should be fine. If you still have problems look for an H O alt. But I don't think you will need one for less than 2000 watts rms of power. Music is dynamic, and you won't always use all the 2000 watts. Only way to know is to install !

amp on a budget
Notorious97200 replied to zebrabach's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Thank you I had not thought of that. Do you or anyone on here know if that is a good buy for that particular amp? I'm concerned about the fixed SSF is this something that is cause for concern? If I tune more than 3hz above 30hz wouldn't I risk over excursion? Why would you want to "tune more than 3hz above 30hz" ?!! 33 Hz is very good for music listening. Gives you good output and good lows ! A lot of subs like tuning around 28-33 Hz, maybe most subs ?... -
What would you do?
Notorious97200 replied to CTAudio's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Sundown FTW ! But the brz is cheap, and you don't need more than that. All of them are good, so it's up to you. What is your budget ? Get the cheapest and keep some money for ...some sound deadener or anything you will need for your build : wire, rca, fuse, fuse holder,...etc -
used Sundown 3000 or 3500 at db-r.com ? Recone to get a final 1 Ohm load with the 2 subs. Another cheaper solution is to buy a second amp like the one you use for now, to run the 2nd sub. If they're linkable, it's all good. If not, you'll have to gain match the amps. Just my 2 cts.

amp on a budget

I'd get the JL. best resell value. Great brand. I hope it works fine. -
Welcome to SSA ! Good luck for your system. Post pics, we love that !

SSA is growing, growing ! People, in my country, always want the biggest sub they see. That Dcon should satisfy some ! 300 watts rms , 15" , SSA quality sound : good combo guys !
-
I don't like their mods, but they have some big builds to show. Each forum has its favourite brands, but DC rules on sm dee ! If you don't have DC you're not good ! If I need an info, I will always ask SSA and I know I will have the right answers, but SMD is good for the build logs only.

Adding a tweeter will not give you a final load of 2 Ohms, if the mid is a 4 Ohms speaker. I was always told that tweeters are to "light" to change the load for the amplifier. But it could be wrong ! Maybe you should ground the h u to a better point on the frame, or on the battery (won't be easy !). I'm sure you can find someone to fix your h u for a poor $20 ! good luck

You had a problem with this AQ amp, but don't tell people AQ is not good and to not buy their products !!! I have never used any of their product, but I tried to !! AQ was "very professional" with me. They quickly answered me back : "no local (for me) AQ repair center, so no shipping to my country". First I did not like this answer, but I started to appreciate it later ! They look serious ! Until that day, I use Sundown amps with no problem at all so far !!! I have since bought 7 Sundown amps, and no failure, I cross my fingers !!!

Grounding the rca's is a temporary fix, because you may still haVe some noise left. It happened to me and I found someone at an electronic shop who soldered some wire over the pico fuse. He did not have the fuse in stock to replace it but he knew the problem very well. About $25 and a few hours. Very very common on the Pioneer h u.

Dual 1 : so your amp sees a 2 Ohms load. 1200 x 2.

Orion hcca 12.2 amp decision
Notorious97200 replied to SMpaintball78's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Used Sundown at db-r ? New : Audiopipe is cheap, and a lot of people seem to like them. You have a good budget for that amp. You won't get nothing from the biggest brands but you the choice is huge. Clarion, Powerbass, ...I don't know. Good luck ! -
2 xcons 10" ? HuuuUm, I would love to see that in my trunk !!! Congratulations SSA !

TWO Different types of SOUND wtf?
Notorious97200 replied to Kyleebbert's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Stephan, I understand. I do agree and I turn it down in residential areas and at stop lights, but when you're a (too) young gun, you don't look at life the same way ! On a hot and sunny island like mine, if you don't have A/C you must turn the windows down ! We love music, and are used to music blasting everywhere !!! People may get annoyed sometimes, but they don't call the cops easily for loud music, except by night. The only thing that can make some turn their system off or down, is the fear of thieves. But OP, you're not in Martinique, or in the Caribbeans, so, be careful, respectful,......................! -
6 same posts ? There's a problem somewhere, and still no pics !!!

TWO Different types of SOUND wtf?
Notorious97200 replied to Kyleebbert's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
OP, you're in the Us, so shipping costs will not be huge. Get your sub reconed to a 15" if possible (yes, I beleive it is !). You said your box barely fit in your car, you won't be able to make a nice box for this sub. You could sell the sub too. -
That's so ugly !!! But for $25 he may find a buyer !

subs that will handle 3k under $300
Notorious97200 replied to brmcm15's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I've some Lanzar 1533 D at work ! they can handle good power for sure. But it was an "spl" setup, with big amps on them. IIRC they hit a little over 150 db (2 15" I think, in a wal, and inverted !). But I don't know their price and how they sound with a good tuning on music. I've read somewhere someone saying they could be compared with Fi BTL's !!! On what level, I don't know at all !!! Remember : You can easily find a single 15" sub with $300 for your 3000 watts, maybe a used sub though. (used Nightshade, btl,...etc) Good luck OP ! Tell us what you find and decide. -
That will be heavy, even without the subs in !!! A monster box in a big car, I guess !
-
Seems good, even overkill with all that !!! But wait for some experts to help you though !!!
-
I love your work !!! First time, first try and you have such results ? Congratulations !!! Maybe one day, I'll try something like that ... with my friend / installer. I know he wants to !!! He really need to work on his doors, more than me. He has several speakers in them, I only have a single comp set ! Keep the pics coming !
