  1. I bought a brand new XS 3400 today for a "nice" price. Local shops are starting to do some work now !! Happy new year !!!

    Taramps 8k electrical?

Why do you want to use such a big amplifier for those 2 subs ? A 4000 w amp should be enough, and easier on the electrical.

    My daughters new ride

I would keep the SSD or an SSA sub, on a 600 watts SAE amp. I like matching amps ! :-)

    1st active front stage setup

You should try to sell those 8" speakers and read carefully M5 words........

    Lee's Avalanche Build

I'm sorry to read that. I hope you'll find a better job soon. Wish you good luck !

Help smell coming from back, one sub doesn't work.

That was hilarious ! I loved the picture with the finger pointing. I feel sorry for the OP...not too much though !

    looking for single sub suggestions

That's a huge box for a 12" zcon, and you have a lot of power. You could probably fit a 15" zcon in that box ! Time for a recone in a bigger size ?

Advice for a new sub and amp setup

Yes it is. It's a Group 31 battery. One of the cheapest I could find. They use it a lot, locally, for the boats. The Optimas were so expensive, I did not want to get one. There were no XS available at the time I was ready to buy a battery. Now I can find a few, but they are so expensive, it's not an option for me. So far, I have no problem with this one. ;-) ;-) I just questioned it because it looked like it had plugs you could pull out to check the acid level. I checked again ! No vents I can take off to check any level ! They are dry cell batteries...I don't know much about them. Vision EV31 is the name. Chinese batts. They have a website but I don't know how to really compare batteries.

    SP4 Recone... FOAD leads?

You had your answer : a Fi recone will be better than a PSI recone. A lot of people are going to read that thread, not only you. Stop crying like...a teenager ! Be thanksfull for the answer you got and forget it. You don't really know what you are doing if you managed to blow a Fi sp4 on a "2400 watts" amp. Box was too big you said ? 5.5 cu ft or 7 ? All those members want to help you to keep your sub in good conditions. They don't want you to blow it again.

This battery won't go nowhere. It's so tightly set in this piece of wood. Next step : a wood box well secured to the floor. Still had some wood and some carpet left, so... Box won't move !

    Trunk 4th order build

Nice and Impressive, so far !

    Thinking of switching sub setup..

Do you really need a little more room back there ? You won't have a lot more with a sealed box. Take that room for a serious ported box. This sub deserves it. You can have port firing back or up. Keep the same depth and the same height, but a wider box ! Good luck !

    Thinking of switching sub setup..

Small box means less output, usually, don't you think ? Try it sealed, it will be cheaper first. If you don't like it, then you'll try something else.

    Old sub boxes

I always sell them, with or without the sub !

First front stage build in new car

There are some sub forums here, on SSA, about deadening materials. I'm still studying what to buy for my doors ;-) My budget is not ready.
  19. got my bass back in my car :):)

  20. That's what I would do ! It should work for the power you will use.
  21. No bass for a week because I need a solid crimper. The ground should be fixed this afternoon. :):)

  22. I like my IA 20.1. I can't say if it puts out rated power, close to rated power, or more or less !!! But it has a small footprint, it's a reputable brand, and I have no problem with it so far. I bought it on sale. You can't be disappointed with it. SQ seems to be loved in this car audio market. Good reputation. Buy what you like and what you can afford. There is no need to break the bank for an amplifier !
