I got mine, in 3XL I would love a white one, though! Maybe you'll have some white ones for my next order!!!
-
You'd better focus on buying the best comp set you can. Then you change the stock head unit for a decent one. With the money left(!!!) you can look for an amp AND for all the wiring!!! I would have do it in this order. What do you think?
-
You'd better get 2 DVC 1ohm to play at 1 ohm load on your 3500watts amp. If you chose the 2 amp solution you need the DVC 2 Ohms. If you don't really compete, take the cheapest and the easiest solution! Listen to KU40 Tell us what you decide !!!

The Focal's'you've listed are sounding good, but if you can afford the K or KP series, it would be much much better! I love my 165KP, but I have to admit I've heared much better sounding tweeters. I don't want to change them, because they are part of the set and I use the passive crossovers. I have changed a lot of things in my system, but the Focal's'will not move until they blow!!! Don't forget some sound deadening in your budget : it's'really important for your doors. Buy a cheaper set but add the deadening material: sds, secondskin Damplifier, Dynamat,...etc I think the most important parts in a system are the front speakers AND the head unit. So, make a good choice! Good luck -
Icons are loud, for sure !!! But not only loud, they sound really good !!! I can tell you so !!!

Why can't I see all these pics?

I understand that it-s not easy to play with the engine off. So I decided to just buy the battery that best fits my factory location, an XS or a Kinetic and to see how is my electrical system after that. The secondary battery will come later, when the money comes!!! Thanks a lot !

Hi, I'm planning to do the big3 upgrade this week end, but I would like to have a secondary battery in my trunk. I don't know the size of my stock alternator, but I don't want to change it. I have 2 amplifiers with around 1200 watts rms. Someone here, told me that it would not be really good to buy a Honda civic size battery for either secondary or primary battery. What should I chose? It is not to play with the engine off for long time, just to have a little more power. What do you think? a secondary one (whicv one), or just a big primary one (which one) ? Thanks for your help. BTW : I have a XS batt dealer in my country, and he is really into caraudio!

The 2 saz amps are ok. Everything is playing in the car. The car owner changed the speaker cable, now he uses phone cable (pure cooper) and notices real improvments in the sound quality. The sub receives about 1700 watts of power!!! with the 2 amps linked. I sat in the car for a listen : it's insane, the bass is so heavy!!! Lot of pressure!!!! He noticed that the sound of the bass is clear, he told me he feels the low notes much much more than with his older amplifier. One more positive note : his electrical system suffers much less, he plays at 14.1-14.4 v. On heavy bass notes, it never goes too low like with his old system. He finally decided to get rid of his 2 caps !!! about 16 pounds less in the back !!! Today, the weather is sunny, I think we will take some pictures to post here soon. SSA subs + Sundown amps = Fantastic combos !!!!!!! -
Why do you need 2 sets of speakers ? I like the head unit ! But the Type S speakers seems to be the weak point of your system. I'd better buy one better set of comps and a 2 channel amp (maximum 125watts rms x 2). Only one battery in the back for a 3500 watts amplifier : is that enough ? just my 2cents.

That's a really good work !!! It looks clean professional!! Wish I could find an installer with these skills in my country. Why did you put only 8" subs? To keep a lot of room in the trunk ? -
In black, and in the car, this box is even more attractive !!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ! I was afraid to have made the wrong choice! Now, I am just waiting for it. Maybe this week , like a !!!

http://www.sundownau...ed/sax-504.html Hi, I just read , again, the specs, and I am worrying about something : when the 50.4 is bridged at 4 ohms, to 2 channels, can it still play in stereo? or just mono for subwoofers? I may have made a mistake with this order if it's only mono. I wanted it to power just a comp set in stereo. (BTW the saz1000's have been received and installed yesterday, thanks!)

2 or 4 18's + amps + head unit + speakers + wiring + batteries + new alt +... for $2000 ? This will be difficult, quite impossible. Unless you buy used or really cheap gear? You don't have the budget for such setup. Maybe I'm wrong! Good luck

how big of a difference will I notice between coax's and comp'
Notorious97200 replied to ppiflat10s's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
2 channels amps are not so expensive : I am waiting for a Sundown sax 50.4 that I will bridge to 2 channels for a comp set. Cost was about 200$ shipped in the USA. There are much cheaper ones you could find on the web ! But don't go too cheap on your speakers. As an example : the 2 most expensive things in my audio install are my head unit (Pioneer 88 prs II) and my component set (Focal 165KP). just my 02 cents!!! -

I've just received 2 saz 1000 D to feed the Xcon : they will be strapped together at 2 ohms. The Xcon owner took them 5 minutes ago with a big smile on his face. It took about a week to get them here in Martinique with UPS. I am still waiting for my sax 50.4 for my Focal comps He can work on his install now. His car has been repaired, he has all the wiring,... BTW, there are some pictures of the box build in a topic and in my gallery. I will post better pics later. Thanks SSA and Sundown !!! We'll do business again soon, I hope so !!!!!!!!!!!!!
