I have all my manufacturer warranties on the shop at soundsolutionsaudio.com. I hope to never have to use the warranties, but I am sure it would be easy to use them here!!!
-
those dimensions are for 12", not 15". I don't know if the Icon would be louder, I've never heared the Kicker, only the 15 Icon and it pounds hard!!! I love it!
-
If he has them for free, why not? It could be fun, and loud. If not, tell your friend to come over here to see! People will suggest him much better sub, depending on his goals. I think he wants to be loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can be loud with less subs, but 4 15" is always impressive in a car!!!

New system...help.

Listen to Jay cee : a Fi Bl and a SAE 1200 should be fine. This will pound as hell , as you said !!! Just be sure to build a good box. Before you buy anything, you'd better check the room you have available for a box in your trunk. You must know what size of sub you can really fit in the trunk. -
I don't think you will find people who have listened to all these high end sets! Which ones can you test ? Tell us what you think. But speakers choice is difficult on the internet! Of course, the icon is good, but with your budget and power(1 amplifier) a less powerful sub may be a better choice. You'll see what the people here tell you.

You can't go active and have a sub on a 4 ch amp. I may be wrong, as I'm not a pro at all! Just buy the better comp you can, and some deadening for the doors(secondskin damplifier or other). It seems that you don't need a big sub, so, look for a 10" : incriminator, ssa, Fi,...are good brands. A 400 watts sub would be enough with your amp power(200 to 400 w?) Tell us what you think, what you find.
-
Those are for the 15" ? No? Just for the 12". The OP is talking about the 15" one. I thought the soloX was the huge Kicker spl sub, sorry! Don't know if a 15 Icon will be louder than what you got already : never heared these subs.
-
ok, you already got 2 12 subs. and You need more !! Listen to nmssd12 : you can find great combos there. Icon-saz1000 or Xcon-saz1500 : it's up to you. Don't forget you may need another size of power and ground cable (0 ga). Forget about the solo x : I think it's a spl competition sub, not so good for playing music, and it needs a 5000 watts amp!!!!!!! Keep on reading on the different forums here.

What do you already have? What are your goals with your setup ? I am not sure you read how to post here! You will receive more questions than answers with this find of post. Read the more you can, here, and then, you will be able to ask some more detailed question.

oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! night and day!!!

1400 x 1 = 1400 The impedance is 1 ohm in your equation and it's what your amp see ! So, you should reach 37.42 volts. Am I right, or not ?!!

In my car, the only equipement I bought in one of our few shop is my Focal comp set : this particular shop is an official Focal dealer. I bought my hu in a shop too, but in Paris (France), when I was on a trip for my job ! I can't use US head units because of the different fm radio system. Amps, sub, wiring, etc... : online shopping!! The only place I could fing 0 Ga ring terminal is an accessories shop for boats !

I'm in ! Keep posting pics, Thanks !

New system...help.
Notorious97200 replied to Nvr2loud22's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Nvr2louud22, you should read some more here on this forum! You're starting with a good sub, listen to the well informed people here, but don't pull the trigger to quick on equipments !!! What are your goals for your system? What do you want? Express yourself!!! If you want people to help you. How did you choose the BL ? ... etc -
Most musical with lots of output
Notorious97200 replied to ma_ttcald's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
RE XXX, I don't think he is going for spl competitions!!! A 10" sub can be more than enough for a lot of people, even in a small sealed box. But I can't say nothing on the subs you talked about ttcald, sorry. All these brands seem to make quality products. -
nice! I love my 50.4 too !!! I had a Boston gt42 before (with rear speakers) , I liked it too. But I know I have a lot more power now : the 50.4 is in a 2 channel mode. The speakers seems to be alive now, more clarity, more tweeters, more mid. I did not imagine the change would be so important!!! It's a real improvment on my sound system. People say that all amps seems to sound the same, but I can clearly hear the difference. Maybe it's just the power, because I set the amp by ears, not with a DMM. I have turned down the gain 3 times since I installed this amp. And I still have to lower the speakers level on the head unit. Gotta find some time to adjust everything! Enjoy yours. The saz 1000D is another little monster you will love, for sure !!!

noise from my Pioneer deh 88 prs2
Notorious97200 replied to Notorious97200's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I finally did it !!! I took all the rca's and put a wire (on their neg) to the ground. It was easy to do; I did not have to take the hu out, only the dash! Now, the noise is still there, but you can only hear it at low volume with the engine on. And it is not loud at all. I like it like that!!! It's just a bandaid, not a professional repair thing, but it's good enough for me!!! I am really happy. This noise was disturbing me a lot. Thanks to you all. I must admit that I did it myself because I saw some pics of this "operation" on another forum, after a google search. I am not a manual guy, and the pics did help me a lot. I can't remember where I saw them, but it could be helpful to others. Sorry , I did not take pics myself, I will try to do it another time. Thanks again. -
noise from my Pioneer deh 88 prs2
Notorious97200 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hello, I have a bad noise only when I play with the engine running. I was trying to unhook the sub from the amp, but I start to unscrew it with the sound playing ! my bad Something went wrong, I think the tool touched something wrong and I suddenly heard a bad "electric" noise. Now, when my system play withe engine off : no problem! Engine on : I can hear a sort of alternator noise if I don't crank it up. I can hear the noise of the direction lights in the front speakers! If I take off the rca's': no noise. I checked the grounds: no problem. I tried other rca's : same noise. It seems that the problem is coming from the hu : what do you think about that? I did not try another h u, so, I am not sure what to do. I'm waiting for your advices. Thanks -
Denim shows you the right direction . The ssa shop!!! Or Fi shop You will be happy with all their "spl" subs! But be careful of the box you build or buy.
-
I bought a design for a 15" Xcon : 3.5 ft3 at 32HZ. The box was made by the xcon owner : it's beautiful, and sounds soooo good. No port noise, we can listen to low notes and the higher ones, lot of pressure in the car !!!!!!! I don't know if it is the sub or the box, or both, but we just love it!!! as everyone who listen to it! Here's a picture coming from my gallery on this site. Take a look. Thanks FC ! I will be back !!!

looks like 3 ft !!!!!!!

setting the gain on your amp with a DMM, you can have the power you want. If you don't want to push your sub with 3500 watts, you don't have to do it!!! Regarding the subs, I have never heared them, so I can't tell you nothing. I am not into the spl side! I would take a 15" Xcon (and maybe run the amp at 2 ohms), or 2 12" Xcon ; and a good ported box. Good luck!

Audioque SDC2.5 12 vs. Sundwn SA-12
Notorious97200 replied to zerosktr111's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
You live in NC ? Go Sundown. It would be easier for you!!! But I think these 2 subs are so different, are they your only options? -
Amplifier selection: BTL 12 Dual 1 ohm
Notorious97200 replied to skullylover's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
They want you to hook up each voice coil to an amp ? I think it would be better to link the 2 amplifiers and to run both voice coils as they should be. Some others here, will tell you more than me. I'm not a pro at all !!! You can ask Sundown on their forum here too. Maybe the shop you went in, had only those 2000's in stock, and they want to sell what they have, not what you need !!! Be careful, and good luck for your system!!!
