600 rms on 2 18" Xcon? I'm sure it must bang hard enough !!! But 3500 watts are going to hit soooooo much harder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My choice is : 2 Xcon 18" on a single saz 3500, with a solid box!!!

Never heared these speakers, but nice brands ! Why did you choose them ? Did you listen to them first ?

The w7 is a nice driver. I would like to listen to one, because a lot of people seems to love it. It must be good !! But you are not satisfied with it. What don't you like about it?

one volt ? You're totally stock? What size wire do you use? On my voltmeter I see a 0.1 volt loss when I play at full tilt, and the big 3 is not done yet. I only have 2 big grounds for the batt, alt not grounded yet.

Great purchase ! I love my Xcon 15 too, on "only" 1000 watts. Why don't you like your enclosure ? It is big, and tuned low. 1600 watts is enough for this sub, you don't need to give it more, at all. Vids don't do justice to subwoofers, tell us what you think about the sound rather than showing videos, please!

Get the BL if you listen to rap and like it loud ! The Q is a really good sub, but rap does not get so low as people might think. So the BL is the best choice. Give him a GOOD CUSTOM box tuned low enough and you would be good to go!!! just my 2 cents.

Icon on steroïds : exactly !!! I've heared one xcon on 2 saz 1000 d in a very small french car (Renault Clio for those who knows) : it's insanely loud and heavy ! People, with "little" spl setups were telling my friend to leave the car while playing so loud !!! He has a lot of speakers in his 2 doors on a jbl crown amplifier( bpx 300.4 or something like that). I was sad I did not have a good camera to watch their faces : they all were shocked by the loudness, the accuracy, and the way this sub was hiting the low notes !!! They never saw that in their lives. Some tried to go to the ssa website, but they don't understand English !!!!!

If you want ridiculous bass that shakes your car and STILL sound really really good : go for the Xcon !!! Don't forget that the xcon weight a lot more than the icon. I hope this little review will be helpfull for those interested in ssa subs. If you need some more informations, you can pm me. Forget to say that I live in a French speaking island in the Carribbeans, and SSA take care of me as if I was their next neighbor !!! All my questions were answered, and all my requests were accepted : shipper, info on box,... Congratulations to SSA .

Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, they're coming from my Blackberry So, I change my sub, and got a 15" Xcon. The first listening sessions, I was sceptical. It was too "new" to play well : had to wait for breakin time. I think that's it now!!! The xcon is way more powerful : I feel the bass is really heavier, my car feels it too. The rain/or light sensor (I don't know what it is) in the windshield fell off. The rear view mirror had already been gone !!! With the same power I am more and more happy. I think the sub plays as well as the Icon : I can listen to all kind of music, not only rap or r&b. When I am listening to a Bob Marley song, I have all the basslines complete : with some other subs I had it was not so good. Maybe I had wrong boxes, but, for example, My Kicker L7 was in a sealed box, not the biggest one recommanded though, but not the smallest. And it was heavy but not accurate enough for me. I was missing some notes, these missing notes were there but not loud enough. The Xcon gives me the heavy part I was missing with Icon. The Icon is a fantastic woofer, for sure, but the Xcon is more for real bassheads, like me !!! You feel like your car is going to fall apart !!! and you love it !!! In résumé : if you want a lot of bass that is good sounding, go for the Icon !

You're on the ssa forums, so take a look at the ssa store, you could find great deals on subs and amps. They have some really good combos, in your budget. You receive your products from the manufacturer , not from a online re seller, with all your warranties. Your system is all right, but I have never heard the type s Alpine speakers.

Hello, As the title says, I want some new speakers for my home audio system. I have a Marantz amp, with tuner included, it is rated at 2 x 70 w rms, I think so ! I have a set of Bose Acoustimass speakers, that can handle 2 x 100 w. I like how they sound, but I need to give them to my father because they're small and sound good. I want something good, of course, but not as expensive as the Bose. Just a bass box and 2 speakers. I listen to rap, reggae,...so...I need bass, I can just buy the sub and make the box. So, can you tell me what would you choose, and where to buy online, please?

Some Focal mids are wonderful! (I am not working for Focal, they don't need me !!!) But I have heard much better tweeters than the Focal. I run a set of 165KP, and I've heared some different other Focal sets, but I never heard all these sls, fountek,...only reviews in diyma.com It depends on your personnal taste, and your budget too, for sure.

Only the hu ?! here, our crackmen would have take EVERYTHING out, even the big box!!! even if they were on a bike !!!!!!! Sorry for you, but you don't seem too sad!!! It's rebuild time. BTW I always take off the hu faceplate, night time and day time : you've got to do it like that, and you'll get used to do it!

Really hurting ! They were already in such a mess. I went there in 1981 for 3 days before going to the USA with my family, on holidays. It was horrible, shocking. I never saw so much people starving, and slowly dying. After that earthquake, it must be so hard to see, I don't want to look too much at the tv news. I can see some (mostly French) survivors coming to our hospital, and it smells death in our building at the airport. If you're not "solid as a rock", don't go there, just help them as you can. Remember : all around the world there are Haitians, and all people can say about them is that they are really really hardworkers, never complaining.

What did you decide for the highs? Still using the Hertz? I hope so !!! How can go from Hsk to Selenium or whatever pro audio speakers ? with horns, and so on I don't like pro audio speakers or horns at all : it screams too much for my taste! I've never heard the Hertz, but I'm sure they play better than these PA speakers !!! Good job ! I like it !

I took a look at the sundown amp, but it's a little too expensive :/ do you have any other suggestions? my main concern was if the AQ 1200D had enough power to run the Fi well. The amp is 1200wrms at 1 Ohm, and the sub is 1000wrms. Is that what it actually needs to perform well, or do I need a little more power? You're in Florida? Ok, get that AQ amp, it will be good for your setup. Lots of people use them and are happy with them. AQ is not on these forums, Sundown IS here, so ... Look at the sigs, plenty os Sundown amps !!! I live far from the USA, so I focus a lot on reliability! AQ told me that they would not ship me an amp because they don't have repair center in my country. It's professional, and I appreciate that. But it is a little bit scarry !!! When I read some advices coming from knowledgeable people here, I forgot AQ. It seems better to run some refurb Sundowns, take a look at db-r.com, they are legit, official Sundown repair center, and the amps come with a 1 year warranty.

that will be a big change : like night and day ! If you have the money, forget the Audioque amp and look at the Sundown amp : saz 1500 for example. Your alt seems to be powerful enough but who knows? not me, as I am not electrician !

A 2000 D on 3 10" Icons : that should sound really good !!! You're so lucky to have such a nice stock alt !!! What do you run for front speakers with so much bass ?!!

The Sundown saz are cheaper, but also very good!!! Take a look at these Sundown amps. You will have warranty, and with the shipping fees it will not cost more than the JL or the RF.
