You already have an AQ, why don't you just buy a second one ? I'm afraid of these monster amps. If it fails, you have no bass at all. If ona AQ fails, you still have one to play with while you wait for repair or buy another(so cheap !). Walls looks cool, but I don't know if they're so cool for music. Everyone can see what you got when they see you coming. I like to have everything hidden in the trunk. No one can tell until I crank it up !!! Good luck with your build, and post some pics, please !

in search of a low end monster

Take a serious look at the SSA Xcon. It may be what you're looking for !!! But it's not only a low end monster, it's a monster from low end to 80 Hz !!! Kicker L7 can really dig the lows, but I personnaly think they are not accurate at all doing it. I had several models of 15"L7 in sealed boxes. They were like struggling with the lows, but still loud. The Xcon is on another level : a much better sq, but more expensive too. You just need one xcon on your 2000 watts amp to smile like an happy baby for ever !!!!!!!!!!!! good luck

    Btl 18 power handling..

Expensive for some, cheap for others ! I agree : the 2 saz's 1000 strapped would be the best idea. You can search for any other 1000 watts linkable amps that can give you 2000 watts at 2 Ohms. Maybe it is cheaper than a big amp. Kicker must have at least a 1500 watts amp. That can be good for you. Whatever solution you find will not be on the cheap ! You must pay for power !!! Remember that with a bigger amp you might have to upgrade your electrical system. More money again !!!!!!!!!
  6. It's a comp set. Don't try to run it "active". Use the passive filters. They were made by professionals FOR your speakers. When you want to run active, you will use a 4-channel amplifier, with 2 mid woofers and 2 tweeters. You will, then, use the 4 channels of the amp.

    KaleCoAuto Subs

$ 145,000 for a sub ? and 9 different reviews ? What a joke ?!!! I did not see if they accept Paypal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO
  8. Notorious97200

    what sub to buy?

SPL BMW, there are no best! Read a little more topics, look at the install pics, build logs,... Then you will have more ideas of what you need. I would suggest SSA Xcon, but BTL's are very loud (they play in another category, SSSSSSSSPL). Take a look at the manufacturers sub-forums : ssa, incriminator audio, fi,... You will come back with more questions,...maybe !

Get a voltmeter first. You will get a new batt only if you need it .

Big 3 on 2002 Cadillac Seville STS HELP!!!

lol Yes, it's a cool little car ! We drive much smaller cars too, around here !!!
  12. Hi everyone, I'm looking to finish the big 3 in my car. I already have a 0 ga wire from battery - to chassis. My alternator is difficult to reach. I must "lift" the car to reach it under the motor. My question is : can I take a point anywhere on the engine block and ground it to the chassis of the car (with a 0 ga wire) ? (I know !). That would be the third part of the big 3. I have a stock alternator, maybe the (+) alt to (+) battery part is not a "must do" part for me. Another question : I have one 0 ga wire with ring connectors, and one 2/0 marine grade wire with ring connectors too. Which one would you choose for the battery to ground, and for the engine block to ground ? Thanks

Big 3 on 2002 Cadillac Seville STS HELP!!!

I have a 4-door Toyota Auris 2.0 D4d (diesel) 126 hp : it is not sold (yet) in the USA. It's the new Corolla hatchback. It's a nice (little for you Americans) car, but the trunk is too small for me : I can only fit a 3.5 cu ft ported enclosure, and it's tight !!! Take a look at my ssa gallery .

Big 3 on 2002 Cadillac Seville STS HELP!!!

I have the same problem : my alternator is hidden and not easily reachable ! I have to reach it by under the engine block, I need to lift up the car, take out the front left wheel and the mudd cover. Until I have more 0/1 wire and connectors, I will just ground my engine block (I've already upgraded the battery ground with 0/1 wire). So, it will be the big 2 for me ! I hope I will be able to get some connectors from Darvex : they're soooo expensive here !!! Good luck

Little question about the big 3

Ok, I understand everything is important ! I have just one battery, and it's under the hood. No batt at the back, in the trunk. So, I use the 2/0 awg wire for engine block to chassis (ground). The 1/0 awg wire for the battery(-) to chassis (ground). I must get some more 1/0 awg wire and ring connectors to do the alt(+) to batt(+). I got it NOW !!! I will tell you how I feel it when it's done ! When I upgraded the ground on the battery, I saw a better voltage number on my voltmeter. My car still run fine, no voltage loss, but it is just to run it safer ! This forum is too coooool ! thanks a lot.

Little question about the big 3

Thanks for your answers ! Last questions : 1) Is it good (or worth it) to take a point on the engine block not so close of the alternator to ground it on the chassis ? 2) What lenghth all these ground wires got to have (minimum, and MAXIMUM) ?

Wow § congratulations ! You're so lucky to have such a big car, and no back seats !

I love this build ! You have good skills! That's a nice van. You can be proud of it !!! You even worked on the suspensions! When come the rims ? How does it sound ?

Little question about the big 3

The 2 wires I already have are one 1/0 and one 2/0( the bigger one). Which one to use for what grounds ? "the next plosest point" : so, I should not use any point from the engine block ? You think I need to go close to the alternator. MR Sagat : you think the alt(+) to batt (+) is the most important part to do ? I'm surprised. I thought this stock wire should be at the good size for the stock alternator. I don't have no high output aftermarket alt.

    fuse for saz1500d

no need to worry! You're on the right way ! I have 0 ga from my battery to the dist block in the trunk. I have 2 2 ga wires fused with a 80 amp fuse going o my saz 1500 because I did not have the right distribution block and the right fuse (150-160 amp). Your system should be better.

How much harm could it really do?

Maybe you can ask JBLCAMRY here. He knows what he's doing.
